  1. I just stumbled across this: http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/3160260952.html
  2. I wonder how a belt clip would be if used along with one of these MIC holsters? http://www.glocktech.com/
  3. I'm just jerking Luke's chain. I know how he rides his KLR.
  4. You could always get a disk front end on ebay and then sell the old one. My battery has been dead for the past year. Too cheap and lazy to get a new one, so I just use the kick.
  5. They've always had huge tires. Over the years they lost the kickstarter and replaced the front drum with a disk. Other than that they have remained the same since introduced in the late 80s.
  6. So if your idea of a dual sport ride is a Harley-type parade then get a KLR?
  7. Located in Winchester, Ohio 45697. PMs on the way. Thanks.
  8. 1988 RM250 Bought this several years ago, installed a new piston and rings, and rode it a half dozen times. I cleaned the carb today and rode it around the farm. Still runs good, but it will need some work to make it a reliable play bike. It needs new brake pads, chain/sprockets, grips, shift shaft seal, work on the kickstarter lever (it folds out too far and my foot slips off when kicking), and new fork seals. Edit: Located in Winchester, Ohio (about an hour east of Cincinnati.) $400 if you want to buy with no BS. If you're the kind of guy who has to win the wheeling, dealing, game then I want $700 and you can beat me down to $400 and drive off feeling smug and superior.
  9. Edit: Price drop to $350. Also consider gun trades.. 1979 GS550 I bought this to make a scrambler but never followed through. It has new: intake boots, carbs cleaned and new o-rings. oil and air filters, points, condensers, spark plug caps. It runs good, although the battery is dead and has to be kick started. Tach and some instrument lights don't work. Starter button is missing. Dirty and ugly, missing side panels, mufflers and exhaust are good and not rusted out. 19xxx miles. Titled in my name. In all it would be a solid start for a project bike. Included also is the partial carcass of a 1980 GS550. Frame, engine, wheels, and a few other things. No title. Edit: Located in Winchester, Ohio 45697. Winchester is about an hour east of Cincy and two hours south of Columbus.
  10. +1 Be sure you ride to the top of Mt Evans (south and west of Denver.) It's reportedly the highest paved road in N. America. Definitely a high-pucker ride.
  11. Yep, or to load a few rounds while watching tv, or if you don't have room for the full reloading setup.
  12. You don't need to buy a $150 brewing kit to get started. I brewed my first batch this fall using this tutorial: It turned out great. http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/easy-stovetop-all-grain-brewing-pics-90132/ Ordered a kit for $18 from here: I didn't have big pots so I cut the ingredients in half and made two separate 2.5 gallon batches. You can also get a hydrometer, thermometer, grain bag, a few airlocks, and sanitizer from here: http://www.thegrape.net/browse.cfm/advanced-all-grain-kits/2,1351.html I fermented in gallon jugs and bottled in soda bottles.
  13. Agreed. It's also why we must not let law enforcement/government seize property for certain crimes and then benefit from it.
  14. Yeah, that was great. It was a stroke of genius to come up with that idea.
  15. Man, I HATE writing papers. I'd rather suck a bucket of snot through a straw or crush my testicles in a vise. But I have learned that this is one of those cases where "dread is harder than work." So, log-off OR and get busy.
  16. I need to build a web site. It's going to be a one page simple text only. I'll also need to attach a few Word docs that the user can download. It needs to be free. Non-commercial. Thanks.
  17. One of these in .243 Win. Mine is accurate, reliable, and almost as fast as a semi-auto for controlled, aimed follow-up shots. http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire/model-7600/model-7600-synthetic.aspx Or maybe one of these if you have to have a .223. No experience, but the capability of accepting an AR mag is interesting. http://www.remington.com/products/archived/centerfire/pump-action/model-7615.aspx
  18. +1 I replaced my Mini-14 with an SKS. It was more accurate shooting standing off-hand with open sights than the Mini was shooting with a scope and a rest. I just looked at the Ruger site and their current barrel profile is different than mine was.
  19. I had the Ranch Rifle with integral scope mounts. It was horribly inaccurate. I tried several different scopes, various factory ammo, handloads with different bullets and powder, and glass bedded the action. Nothing worked. From talking with others, my experience was not uncommon. However, this was many years ago and the newer rifles may be better.
  20. Better use your time machine. There hasn't been a Rax in Hillsboro in years.
  21. If you want a bigger bike you could get the Dual Sportster version:
