When you give a little guy a shot at performing in front of major market crowds, he brings out every friend and family member he can to support him. Now add in the fact that the class is full of HD's and you're going to get even more folks on the lawn. Ever been to a flat track race? Tell me HD guys don't care about racing... Take a look in the parking lot and get back to me. And don't bother with "Flat track is the nascar of motorcycle racing" because that's bullshit.

how is an additional race class 'on your dime'? Were you at mid-o this year? One or two more years with that shitty turnout and you won't have to worry about watching racing that you don't agree with. Or any racing for that matter.

The AMA doesn't have much of its traditional fan base left. I've been to the last 7 races at Mid ohio and I would wager that there is more cruisers than sportbikes at that event. Ever been to a flat track race? Typical Harleys may not be race bikes, but their owners enjoy racing as much or more than sportbikers.
