  1. fellow lady rider! Women's event @ Independent Motorsports on 8/20! Check out this thread.
  2. Damn. Don't get her on a motorcycle. Or a bicycle. You know what? She's walking.
  3. For coolant, I like Engine Ice and have been using that for a while. Works great with the giant sport-tourer and all the heat it generates. I believe that's also water-based so you can use that on the track too?
  4. That is a nice piece. Been looking for that particular gun for a while. Alas, no $$$. Bump on that one. GLWS!
  5. He had a cage in the master bedroom. We put it on the floor, and that's where he would eat, drink, and use the bathroom. He pretty much limited his bathroom use to a corner of the cage (you can potty train hamsters, BTW). We just never closed the cage door unless we were vacuuming the carpet. We'd also have an old comforter in one of the corners where he would sleep if he didn't feel like being in the cage.
  6. This is the kind of shit that just gets me fuming. How malicious can people get out here? I get enough remarks from people threatening to open car doors on a passing motorcyclist if given the chance. Reminds me of the mass quantities of oil poured intentionally on Mulholland Drive on the way to The Rock Store in SoCal a few years back. I was lucky to not have been on the road when that streak happened, but really, intentionally attempting to injure motorcyclists just makes you look like a bigger asshole and proves absolutely nothing.
  7. He wouldn't win any beauty contests, but he was a very fun pet to have around. Thanks though.
  8. Looks very promising, and I like the sections regarding bikes, safety, track days, and gear. I would like to see a link to women's motorcycle groups and associations for networking and mentoring. Wish someone here in the States would do something like that.
  9. Just venting here to all the pet owners and rat lovers here. Last night, Flying Brick and I lost our hairless rat, Fuzzy, to a brief illness. He was 3 years old, which in rat speak, is pretty old. But he had a hell of a run. We'll miss that rat very much; he probably was the best free-roaming rodent we've ever owned. He made the move to OH from CA with us. He was also, by far, the best Valentine's Day gift that no [normal] girl would ever ask for. I put up a little obit for him complete with photos and videos on my blog here. For those of you guys who've never seen a hairless rat, they're quite a unique sight, and some of the most lovable and affectionate animals you'll ever meet.
  10. Nice choice of bike. Definitely a versatile ride that'll easily get me in trouble in the twisties and anywhere else that's far away.
  11. Nice. I have the previous version of that Shoei and I love it. P.S. Did you still get the battery after that?
  12. 113,900 at the start of today on the FJR. Bought it new in April '07 at 0 miles.
  13. Glad you're having fun. I traveled up toward Spokane on my way back from CA. Can't go wrong wherever you go. US 101, PCH, and I'll throw in CA-199 and CA-128 in the mix too for super scenic twisties as you ride south.
  14. Fun bike! It was my first one.
  15. Not a problem! I get questions about that bike all the time. Send me a PM. I think my e-mail is on my profile? I don't remember.
  16. Something like that. Riding bikes is one of the parts of my job description. And occasionally selling a few helmets and jackets...not a bad gig at all.
  17. After doing my first Iron Butt SaddleSore 1000 last August from Columbus, OH to Spartanburg, SC and back, I had to shoot a little higher. I rode to CA en route to the Women On Wheels® 25th Annual International Ride-In taking place in San Jose, CA last week, and I didn't have enough time to get there leisurely. So I said, what the hey and planned out an attempt for a BunBurner Gold 1500. Well, my route was a "little" detoured thanks to I-29 closures in Iowa due to flooding in the region and 50MPH gust winds + rainstorm in East Nebraska but I still managed to pull off the standard BB1500 in 34.5 hours. And with another 10 hours and 500 miles, I went for the SS2000, ending in Elko, NV before riding into CA. What a way to return to my home state, but it was wonderful to be back. After the fun in San Jose, I returned to OH via Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Wisconsin. Needed to play state tag too, so now the FJR is up to 43 states crossed in a little under 4.5 years. Not bad for still being in the working world. Here's the report on the SS2000 portion of my adventure, including photos...clicky. I've got lots of photos on this website and on my Twitter feed too. Here was the route...clicky. Docs are complete and being sent in today! Whew. Still can't feel some parts of my butt, but it was fun! At least the motorcycle test rides at work are a lot shorter.
  18. They're still up for sale! Come and get them!
  19. That is sad news. It is heartbreaking when a fuzzy dies.
