  1. Pop on by the Waffle House on High Street next to Independent Motorsports. Waffles + motorcycles = winning combination!
  2. That's a fun route and an extremely technical one at that. I miss those canyons and mountain routes.
  3. Nice choice for a first bike! I had an SV650 myself and I do miss it quite a bit.
  4. Here's me and Flying Brick in Legos.
  5. There's been quite a few people asking me if it's too cold outside. Having the right gear helps immensely. I've been testing my Gerbing's jacket liner and pants and both passed with flying colors. I'm warmer in this stuff than I am in my car!
  6. No ice = rideable. The car gets parked once the roads are clear again. A clean bike is a nice change of pace every once in a while. I finally did spray her down today after an engine oil and final drive oil change at 100,227 miles. I think that's the first time it's received a bath from a water source other than rain in about six months. The bike's got too many miles to care anyway. Besides, I find it more entertaining to see people stare at my FJR because it consistently looks like it's been through WW3. BTW, I lived 24.5 of my 26 years of existence in Southern California. I miss those roads (which IMO are the best in the country) and the privilege to lane split but I do agree there are too many pretentious a-holes there and the state is running itself to the ground.
  7. Meeting friends for lunch on the bike and then giving here a few laps around town. She's been sitting in this dump of an apartment complex waaaay too long. Ironically enough, it's highly likely that my friends (who also ride motorcycles) will probably cage it anyway.
  8. I would agree that the Wee is a good choice, especially for what you're planning to use it for. It's relatively inexpensive, easy to farkle, very agile, and awesome on gas mileage while still having the power to romp around anything. I used to have an SV650 that I commuted with on the freeway. I chose that over the Wee mainly because of my height (I'm only 5'5") and I felt that the Wee was a little more top heavy to my liking - but if you're taller I figure you won't feel it as badly. My upgrade to the FJR1300 was mainly to tour, super-slab, and do 500+ miles a day for many days at a time. Personally, I'm not a fan of the first gen C14. After test riding it I felt like I was riding a huge bubble, and for someone that still considers himself a newb, a bike that has more mobility and feels easier to handle at slower speeds can be a great confidence builder. Additionally, the Wee can be fitted with the same spacious luggage and still be lighter.
