  1. I was told a couple of years ago (as I sat along a country road with a flat--and having an AAA Plus membership) that you must have AAA Plus RV to get a motorcycle towed. Operator: I can upgrade your membership over the phone right now, but it won't do you any good today. Me: Can you hear this finger right-here over the phone?
  2. Samuel L. Jackson...But probably just 'cause of the resemblance. Clint Eastwood, too.
  3. 1) No, not totally. There is nothing wrong with knowing the basics of how to feed oneself. I believe the 3 basic necessities for human survival are food, shelter and sex. You may want to brush up on procuring those others as well. Remember, Industrialized humans have only been 'domesticated' for a relatively short time--and most wouldn't survive long at all without access to a grocery store. There are also reasons other than economic collapse in which one may need to provide one's own sustenance. 2) The best way would to learn in-person, in practice, from a friend with said skills. Should be eating it the first time.
  4. While we're at it, there seems to be something wrong with the Gear Shop forum. I've had a 2-pc suit for sale on there for a really long time at a more than fair price and no one has bought it. 21 months and over 2000 views. Should probably get that fixed.
  5. Not likely to get any first-hand opinions on the V4 Tuono from anyone around here, as it is not anticipated to arrive in the 'States until next year. Until then, here are some discussions from those that have them: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=89

  8. Was more curious as to what kind of school...? Or an English major, maybe?
  9. A slow moving system of high atmospheric pressure has moved into our area. As such air from upper levels of our atmosphere is pulled toward the ground, where it becomes compressed and increases in temperature. Add to that that clouds are kept out of said area--the sunlight is undiluted, heating up the surface even more.
  10. This is my favorite time of year weather-wise. July/August when it's just hot and the cicadas are singing.
  11. A portmanteau for projectile trajectories.
  12. Good trade! Don't shoot yer eye out, kid!

  13. Wait...'And more'?!! Whaaat?! I knew I was letting it go to easy... Enjoy!
  14. It was much more entertaining in my head, especially the multi-angle slo-mo replays...
  15. I believe I used these same words last evening to describe why the Mrs. and I have have no children...
  16. Just a friendly heads-up. You folks up north stay safe... http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hn00S4GiH_fjVKl3m2m9MGHJw2iQ?docId=da885ea34fd04763bdcb8b57b9d03bfd

    Baby Ben

Congrats! First one? Word of warning—Even though the diaper package says ‘Up to 10 pounds’, they don’t hold anywhere near that much.
  18. My dog thinks he's Elvis. ...I can't say for certain that he isn't, So I've stopped arguing with him.

  20. As far as sneakers go, I've pretty much only worn Adidas Sambas for about 24 years now. They're OK.
  21. T'was good. A leisurely all-afternoon 2-up ride with the Mrs. around north-eastish Ohio...Dodging A-mish.

    Or "Whose awesome?'
  23. Norwegian, Scotch-Irish, French, Welsh/English mix on one side and Lakota on the other. Everyone on the one side is blonde/red-head and blue-eyed, so it's usually a quizzical response when I'm introduced as a relative... All of my relatives have been here a while (some much longer than others). Had ancestors on both sides during the Big One. I ride Italian.
