  1. The infamous Brown Santa dropped off a BCG this afternoon. $120 from AIM Surplus. Basically just need to settle on a barrel and fore-end now. Funny thing: just kind of accumulated all these parts over the last few of months at-or-below pre-panic prices. Well, except for the lower...paid $100 for that. I think it became somewhat of a sport over the winter to snag things that came available and at good prices. I'm thinking DD midlength with an A2 FSB at the rifle position/rifle length handguard ala 'dissipator'... I have a carry handle somewhere...would be a good K.I.S.S. setup.
  2. Yup, $old..! Good meeting you both, Prolly see you round the track..!
  3. As soon as tonight after 6pm--I just need time to unbolt it from the wall and find new hiding places for the things my Wife doesn't need to know about. Or any evening this week--depending on time (I have physical therapy a couple evenings, but we can work around that).
  4. Now that I've gotten rid of all of my firearms, I have an unneeded cabinet. Good shape, has a light scratch in the door. Has been (is) bolted in a closet since new. This is NOT a safe...More like a metal locker (with a shelf!) to secure firearms from children, wives, girlfriends and mischievous pets. May also slow down a thief for a few minutes. Includes 2 keys. Google it if you need to see one. If anyone is interested, $50 and you pick it up.
  5. Right now (since the pain has substantially subsided), my only real mobility issue is reaching across my own chest. Backward and lateral reach is good. Front and inward is weak feeling and generally painful. I don't particularly enjoy feeling the joint 'click' each time it flexes through...but it is more mentally discomforting than painful. Other than the pronounced lump and clicking of bones, it feels just like severe muscle strains. I just need to get back to punching people, Lol...It has been two whole weeks!!
  6. PM his info. ER doc and first Ortho (forget names due to distraction and painkillers) and current Ortho (Iorio) all advised against surgery...Said recovery time is much longer and no benefits are proven.
  7. Anyone here ever FUBAR their AC joint? How is riding after recovery? A couple of weeks ago, I managed to obliterate the ligaments that attach the distal end of my clavicle to the scapula (Grade 3 AC separation). These apparently do not heal, and the efficacy of surgical repair is controversial. Basically I have to train the local muscles to compensate for the lack of integrity in the structure of my shoulder. I now, and always will, have a nifty lump (the end of my clavicle) sticking out of my shoulder. Started PT, and in general I feel like I am re-learning to use my right (strong) arm. So now, Krav Maga training/teaching, BJJ, Crossfit, fighting, and probably shooting and riding are off the table for 2-? months. I know I’ll be able to get back into everything eventually, with some limitations in mobility, etc. Well before all of this I had decided to get off of the street for a couple years (After over two decades of having my endorsement)…Not a lot of time/opportunity to get out on rides, and got to the point that I despise commuting in town. Sold my streetbike over the winter and had planned on spending more time at the track this season. As much fun as it is to tie my shoes, button my shirt, change t-shirts, etc. right now, I do not look forward to squeezing into leathers… Anyone have this injury and want to commiserate or encourage?

  9. So...If you equate big guns to tiny penis't'ses, it is safe to assume that inversely small or no gun equates to large penises. Therefore by extension you like 'em big...No?
  10. So to clarify...Are you for or against tea-bagging, then?
  11. Everytime I see a Magley post concerning firearms, I think of this: Not sure why, though:dunno:
  12. Spot on. First thing we teach (@ OKM) with regard to knife defenses: You WILL get cut. In most realistic scenarios, you will get cut, potentially multiple times, before you can even react. Most trained people would rather go up against a gun @ close range than a knife. Knives are scary in that they don't jam, don't run out of ammo, can change direction easily and often, and it takes a whole different psychological state to want to experience the sounds and sensations of cutting someone (up close and personal) versus shooting someone from a distance.
  13. Good luck with your healing process..! Just completely separated the AC joint of my right/strong arm a few days ago...The lateral end of my clavicle sticks up/out about 1 1/2 inches right now. Apparently surgery for this one is controversial, and it should heal enough to get back to the things I enjoy in a few months (with some permanent deformity). Apparently the AC ligament is the appendix of ligaments. Learning to do everything left-handed for the time being, and painkillers at least make me forget that it hurts.
  14. We get plenty of big lifter types who come in the gym and have absolutely no cardio. All you have to do is move and stay out of their reach for 30 seconds and they're winded/done...
  15. I have a coach that sometimes makes us listen to Barney the Dinosaur's 'I Love You' song while we spar/fight... I'll have to remember this one as a suggestion.
  16. OK, thanks. For a moment I thought I had accidentally wandered into one of the 'track' forums...
  17. Wait...Are we still talking guns, or are these euphemisms?

A little harsh don't you think..? I wouldn't use more than a pump pellet rifle to keep Boy Scouts in line.
  19. That is, I believe, from the 2008 SHOT show... There have been a few similar knock-off prototypes as well.
  20. Thought about the coffee table project a few times myself...
  21. Congrats to you and your family..! Pups can definitely be challenging. We also forgot how much, er..., 'fun' keeping a pup can be--our last was a Heeler mix. We recently rescued TWO Lab/Border Collie mix pups. Haven't had much of a chance to sit still for about 6 weeks now...Wouldn't trade it, though..!
  22. Got a good return on it..! Didn't really need to sell...but for as little as I rode the last couple seasons, it was taking up space and the funds could be better used for other priorities. Maybe a couple of years off the streets will re-ignite the flame. Still have the Mille for the track...I'll do even more trackdays this year.
