  1. PM sent. Is this for the base models, or for carbon/titanium like asked above?
  2. Would depend on where it pops at. Not all cars have the "milky" oil as a visual note. Make sure you check the out put on the battery. I seen you checked everything else, but please check it. One of the most under looked things is the battery, and it can solve a lot of issues. Check it with key off, with key on, and check when the starter is engaged. Let us know what the readings are. If a cell has went bad, it may not have enough juice to establish a good flow to keep everything going. Also, check yourself about the pump. Just because it was good when put in, doesn't mean that it won't go bad. Something to look into. If the oil hasn't changed color, then put fluid into the coolant, and see if there is a leak in any part of the system. Coolant had to go some where.
  3. Welcome to the site. Lots of laughs, around here. If you are ever in the Southern Ohio let me know. Would be more than happy to ride around for a while. I know I am not the only one waiting for the pictures of her in ball gear with pigtails right? Got to like a female that rides, plays softball, and drinks beer.
  4. Quick way to check the kickstand switch, would be to have it in neutral when starting. The switch is bypassed, when in neutral. Has the bike been on its side recently? Might check the Tip Over Sensor, just to make sure it isn't stuck. How many miles are on the bike? Check to make sure your plugs are still in working order. Even though the fuel line isn't kinked, unhook the fuel line from the rail, and make sure your pump is still getting fuel through the line. It isn't uncommon for the battery to have gone bad either, so make sure it is charged up, and has the right voltage when you hit the starter. Have seen several people have this problem, and it be fixed by replacing the battery.
  5. Very nice, but I would hate to hear the cost of what it is to do one. Wood isn't cheap anymore, especially in some of the chunks you would think he would have to use to do that. Would like to see him do a modern sport bike with all the graphics. We be a good project in my eyes.
  6. Changed the caliper, and seems to be doing fine. One of the pins seized up when it got hot. Now I have to look into the "clink" I am getting from the chain. I think I may have a fuzed link now, which sucks because the chain was only a couple of months old.
  7. Any toggle switch would work, as long as it is on/off. All you would have to do, is to put a box with four switches in it. Take the + speaker wire, to each speaker "factory" installed, run from the head unit to the switch, then from the other side on the switch to the speaker. Do that for left and right. Splice into the line before the switch for the outside, and this will be your power for outside. wire them the same way as the factory, left wires to left outside, and right to right outside, so he can make adjustments if he would want to. This way, he could even turn the music off, if she is sleeping in the back, and only have the music up front. All it is doing, is breaking the power source of the speaker, and won't let it play. As long as you splice the outside speakers before the break of inside speakers, you can control any combination of the four speakers you would want on. Just make sure you mark as you go, what switch does what. That way your uncle doesn't get beat by your aunt for waking her.
  8. Don't believe it will work the way you are describing. You have to run both sets of speakers to the box, in order to pick from witch one you want. Unless I am not understanding the diagram. It is basically a distribution block with a selector. The way the diagram shows it, you have to run from the head unit to the box, then both sets of speakers to the box. Factory speakers, could be spliced into it, by cutting and re running, but the outside speakers would have to be completely ran from speakers to the box. Basically, you would have to wire from the head unit, to a distribution point, then run wires for both sets of speakers. Why couldn't you just use toggle switches to kill the power from each set of speakers? Same concept, just don't have the box to pick witch set to run. You would have to tap into the wires from the head unit, but same concept.
  9. Haven't been able to work on the bike yet. I have had some family issues to take care of before I get to this issue. I have got a like new caliper coming, just in case there is something wrong with the current one. The bike was stolen a few years back, so there may be a blemish in part of the caliper. Rather be safe and know I have everything I need before tearing into it. Hard to pass up on a complete ready to bolt on caliper for 25 dollars, that is being guaranteed to be in working order. I believe though, that if it is cleaned, and new fluids with a bleed job, it will be fine. Not a whole lot to this part of the bike. Also going to check the master cylinder, and hoses to make sure they are all in working order.
  10. Wasn't me. Might have been one of my friends on my Hayabusa, but it wasn't me.
  11. Don't know how much I am going to be riding after my rear wheel locked up on me yesterday while I was on the 600. Got to figure out what the hell happened before so I can prevent it from happening on the Hayabusa. Where are you at on the West Side?
  12. If this isn't in the right spot, sorry. Move if need be. I have no idea what the hell has caused this, but I am hoping others have had this problem and can help with it. Was riding the 600 down the road, and out of the blue the bike started bogging down, and then the rear locked up on me at about 30mph. Bike started back up, and wouldn't move. Managed to get the wheel to free up by rocking the bike back and forth, got to the side of the road, and started looking to see what was going on. Noticed the rotor was hotter than hell, and a lite smoke coming from it. Also noticed that while it was hot, I had no "pedal" for the rear. It was like the spring was gone, even though it was there. Had someone come with a trailer, and pulled the bike home. Looked a little more when I rolled into the garage, and had rear brakes after the bike cooled down. Looked at the alignment of the rear tire, to make sure it hadn't moved in anyway, and as far as I can tell seems to be even. Chain is rather tight now for some reason. I am going to drain the fluid, refill, and bleed. Take the caliper off and inspect it, and check to make sure the rotor is okay. Anything else I need to look into? What are the chances that the output rod from the transmission is messed up? You can hear that the chain or sprockets are messed up when the bike rolls now, so I am curious. All help would be grateful.
  13. Love that the dog puts the ears down when looking through the scope, and has one raised while holding the pistol. Kinda like saying "try me." Wish I could get my red doberman to do that.
  14. Can't say that I have ever seen that bike out. I have been ridding my bikes since 2004, know a good bit of the bikes around here, but can't recall yours. I usually don't get a bike out until dark around here. To many ass hats that try to do stupid shit in this area. Unless there is a group of us going to be out, I ride around at night from time to time. Where about in Portsmouth are you at? Welcome to the site, and enjoy.
  15. Sorry to hear about it man. Loosing a pet is like loosing a family member. Hope your fiance didn't take it to hard.
  16. I have to go for the Firestone Destination MT. I have them on my ranger, and love them. Fairly quite for a MT, and last a good bit. I have close to 30k on them, and still over half to the wear bar. I rotate and balance every 5,000 though. I know a couple people that run them on F250s, and they like them as well. They are pretty close to the top of all the reviews I could find. They do good on wet pavement, great in snow and mud, and not to bad in sand. They can also be studded easy for ice if it is needed. They aren't to badly priced either.

You can shoot as well, just not on the same range. My family use to go twice a year, every year. Haven't been to one in a few years though. Last time I was there, we bought a .50cal that was never shot. Personally, I rather go just for the night shoot. Nothing like seeing tracers coming from the mini-gun, or the quad .50. It is like a "kid in a candy store" when they start hitting 55gal drums of gas that has dynamite strapped to them. There always seems to be more people at the October shoot though. Warmer and dryer seems to draw more people, but creates more fire on the ranges. A farmer on the back side of the hill, tried to blame the shoot for setting fire to the hill, but it was later put on the farmer. Police found out he started a brush fire, and the wind took it over the hill.
  18. Cam McQueen done one last year in the Nitro Circus truck, I think in Feb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqJozWY8eII&NR=1
  19. Don't put a time frame on it. I have lost several pets that have came to me because they needed a better home. The hardest one was a 14foot female boa. She was special to my family because we actually had a "litter" with her while she was still in the pet shop that my mom worked at. The store was closing, and I ended up with her, because I was the only one to ever get her out of the cage she was kept in. I had her for several years, before she passed. It killed me to know she wasn't in the cage when I walked past it. She would always crawl out of the shrubs inside it, and wait at the door for me to let her out in the room. I was reminded of her all the time, and it took a while for me to get another. It didn't happen until I was in a pet store getting mice for my other snake, that the "calling" came. Some guy came in, and was deploying over seas. He couldn't take his snake, and the pet store had no room for a 12' male boa. Told the guy about my female, and he asked me to take his snake so he would be in a good home. Since then, the snake has passed over this past winter. I am always on the look for a good home to another animal. Needless to say, keep an eye out. You never know when you may be asked to give another bearded dragon a good home. Don't be set on just a bearded dragon either. There is always a "exotic" pet that will need a home. If you are a reptile lover, if you don't find one that for some reason draws your attention, one will find you. Just hang in there. Sorry to hear about the loss by the way. A lot of people look at reptiles in a weird way, but to people that think they are family pets like dogs are, have just as hard of a time getting over them. It will happen though. Hang in there.
  20. I know the general rule of 3-5 years for a helmet that you use. Just wondering about a helmet that has never been used, never taken out of the "wrapper." I haven't really seen any of the newer helmets that I like, and was considering getting an older model, just don't know how well they will hold if they have never been worn, but just been sitting.
  21. So no body is actually sure on this? Any other input from anyone?
  22. Most aftermarket will only read upto a certain size hd, if they will read a hd at all. Most don't have the power to run the hd right to read it. USB for aftermarket is usually for flash drives. Look up the head unit and check the specs out to know what it will pick up, if any hard drive at all. Hope it helps.

    Helmets???

I know helmets should be replaced on a 3-5 year basis generally. That being said, does a helmet deteriate over time if it isn't worn, and just sits in the box at a shop? Is a helmet that came out in 2005 still going to be as reliable as a helmet just released? Started thinking about the helmet I use now, and it is about time to replace it. Started looking at helmets online and at local shops, and am seeing older designs that I like, but worry about getting an older design for reliability issues. All responses are appreciated in advance.
  24. Pilot powers are great tires. I have the PP tires on my 03 600, and I have the pilot roads on my busa. It is hard to beat Michelin tires. Personally the only other tires I would go with would be Dunlop for the 600. On the busa, it is hard to keep a tire for long. That eats tires apart in no time. As for deal, search around on the internet. You can always find deals on them. I usually get mine from www.tiresunlimited.com They are out of Dayton I believe, and I have tires usually the next day if they are ordered before they ship all the tires out for the day. Pilot power 2ct is on sale there right now for 271, pilot powers are 242. 2ct versions have a softer side for corner grip, and harder center compound for longer life.
