  1. I moved out to AZ awhile ago. I moved to accept a job I had been trying to get for 4yrs. My fiance knew that I was trying to get the job when we got together but she was still pretty reluctant to move across the country. When I got the job offer I had to report 25 days before our wedding that was already planned and paid for. I told my fiance that I was going and I'd like her to go also but I wasn't going to pass the job up if she didn't go with me. I ended up flying home the day of the wedding and flying back the next day. My wife had to stay in Ohio during training but we managed to see each other every month and a half. The pay increase I got for the first year made my income just a little less than our combined income with our old jobs so she didn't need to work. At first she hated it out here being so far from family and not knowing anyone. She's made some friends and decided to go back to work and is enjoying it a lot more. I love my job and the weather is pretty sweet here. Ive been able to ride every month this past year. The problem is the nice roads to ride are scarce but there's some nice mountainroads near by once it warms up.

  2. I guess its time to lower the standard for the engine size people should start on.

I let newbs lead if they are comfortable but I don't have a problem jumping ahead pulling over and telling them to ease up. If they aren't comfortable I ride really slow so they don't feel pressured to ride faster than they can.

  3. The term that you're looking for is called "qualified immunity". If you can prove that there was gross (and I mean GROSS) negligence in obtaining that warrant, like in the Atlanta example above that the cops told each other to memorize a story that they all witnessed a deal going down on the property of the victim, that's gross negligence. It's a pretty high bar to prove in court, made even higher with the influence of the police unions and the "blue wall".

Basically, the creep of qualified immunity coupled with the increasing militarization of the police and the "civilian vs. officer" mentality is exactly what's wrong with American law enforcement.

OP, to answer your question, you call up the Bar Association and you ask for a referral. You most certainly do NOT pluck a random number out of the phone book.

I was responding to another's post as seen by the quote I used and explaining how it was more than them acting in good faith. Sorry I didn't use terminology that was exact to convey my point that it was more than an honest mistake. But no I was not looking for the term qualified immunity.

  4. The police are generally protected from "good faith" mistakes.

Being at the wrong address may qualify, if the screw up was earlier in line, on the warrant, or the person they're looking for USED TO live there.

Bar exam in 45 minutes. Now I feel the need to review crim pro...

Kicking in the neighbors door at night and dragging them out of bed is not good faith. The police that were doing the investigation were neglectful in their duties if they used the wrong address. The police serving the warrant that had nothing to do with the investigation would be acting in good faith because they are going off information given to them. If a cop buys narcotics from someone in a red car but then tells the other officers that it was a green car that would be neglectful. Also don't know about local and state but federal warrants are required to be served between 6am-9pm at a reasonable time unless there are exigent circumstances.

  5. Hypothetically speaking, if the local drug task force were to serve a no-knock warrant on your house instead of the drug dealers next door, what would your legal options be? Lets say they busted down the back door and drug you out of bed at gunpoint before realizing you were not a black guy from Detroit. Lets also assume that they really fucked up somehow and put your address on the warrant instead of the house next door where the controlled buy actually went down.

Opinions? If this were to happen to you, who would be a good lawyer to call?

I'd call a few lawyers don't go cheap. Also remember the words emotional distress, nightmares, paranoia, PTSD. Sounds like a violation of the 4th amendment. This will go all the way up to whomever approved the warrant.

  6. It's one of those things future generations will hear about and say WTF? How many invasive species have been brought in to kill off another just to become a worse problem. I do like the thought of dropping them from a plane. Are they going to be equipped with Stewart little style parachutes? I think a more effective plan of action would be a bounty program.

Edit. I didn't realize the snakes would eat dead mice. If only the recruiter told me about this opportunity when I was looking into the AF. "what did you do in the military?" " I dropped dead poison mice with streamers onto snakes from a helicopter." Lol. I wonder what rotting mouse plague will develop from this.

  7. That advice is about as good as Biden's advice on home protection. "Get a double barrel shotgun. If you hear people breaking into your house go out on the porch with it and fire two shots into the air. No one needs an ar 15 they are harder to hit your target. Get a double barrel shotgun".

WTF? So much wrong with that advice.

  8. Easy cuff key: pull the metal pocket clip thingy off of a pen cap and straighten it out real good. Stick it up between the rack and pawl of the cuffs, it pushes the pawl up out of the rack and bingo, cuff opens. Practice on your kinky ass grandma's cuffs before attempting in the back of a cruiser.

    Unless they are double locked.

  9. The two local gun shows had mags again. $20-25 some were still trying to get $40 but didnt sell to much. I agree with Imaposer buy what you want to keep. Seems the panic is winding down.

I wonder if guys that ordered rifles and are still waiting are going to continue to wait or cancel the orders realizing that people willing to pay extra have already done so? Maybe demand and price will drop soon.

  10. Good luck with this. I had a nice couple in my house in Garfield with kids and good jobs. They destroyed the house took off in the middle of the night with 2 months owed rent. And did about $10000 worth of damage to the house which broke my bank account and eventually made me loose the house. Yeah renting out a house is a mother fucker. Kick them out now and sell it before you get hosed.

To prevent this have scruit sneak in one night to hide one of those high tech GPS tracking systems he has on his stuff.

  11. I'd buy however many you want to keep. The time to buy and flip them has passed.

That's kind of what it seems like. I can buy the Magpuls for about $15 not sure about a limit or shipping. If the profit would only be $5 or less doesn't seem worth it for the effort of finding buyers and shipping.

  12. A 44/54 would be short on you. I'm 6'3", and have to go 48/58 just for the height. Otherwise, the legs come up damn near mid way on my shins and I can't get out of the suit. Ask me how fun it is to be claustrophobic and stuck in a 46/56 Alpinestars suit in an Iron Pony dressing room.

Did you feel like the guy that got superglued to the toilet at Walmart a few years ago?
