See good things happen when the women start listening to then men folk.
  2. My wife has done several all day trips on the back of various bikes with me. Nothing was "comfortable but we did a ride that we had done several times on my 1000rr on a Harley street glide. It was awesome at first with the radio and cruise control but about halfway through the ride my lower back started hurting. By the end we were both in pain and felt worse then when we had done the ride on the 1000rr. Long rides are do able on a sportbike its all about riding position. The most comfortable we have been on a long ride was on my friends sport touring yamaha 600 (I'm drawing a blank on the name but I wanna say fz6) . We rode that all around the tail of the dragon area all day for several days. My suggestion would be a sport tourer over an ass slug (cruiser).
  3. Didn't we used to have an amsoil dealer on here as a member?

    Baconator

Have you guys seen the wendys comercial where the guy is sitting in a lawn chair at a yard sale? The one where the new wendys girl walks up and says "thats soo you. Imagine this feet up game on face deep in a baconator"? Man would I like to go face deep in her baconator. Lol.
  7. If I'm turning left I press the left grip forward for proper counter steering. In order to read more on this check out your buddy exarch crash thread. As stated above ride with one hand and slightly press the grips you'll figure it out. The way you have the answers worded is confusing.
  8. Just wow. Lol:nono:
  9. Eye hand fixation. Look where you wanna go. Was possibly looking over the side of the bridge.
  10. Welcome. Where about in Delaware are you from? That's where I grew up until I moved out west last year.
  11. So having your registration that matches your I'd and the tag may help calm the situation.
  12. Doesn't the registration say to carry it in the vehicle at all times? If the cop reads the plate wrong (happens a lot) and it comes back stolen, he's probably going stop you without re-checking it. If he's all eager beaver over arresting you having your registration readily available may save you time and keep you outta cuffs.

There's a weird following of the old school ninjas out here. Seems to be growing into the next motorcycle trend like cafe racers.
  14. Don't you guys still have a good relationship with TRC in Marysville. There should be someone there that can help hooking you up with the Honda guys overseas.
  15. He didn't highside. They showed the wreck during the end credits when they were signing off. It looked like too much front brake and the front washed out from under him.
  16. Will you give me an oil check?
  17. On a serious note once she has the basics get her off of your bike and have her walk into a MSF class.
  18. Yeah depending on the type of girl she is she'll want either something big and black or tiny and pink that vibrates.
  19. It's for this reason I keep the exhaust hot when out in public. It's not much of a deterrent but the scars around the crotch region seal the case when it comes to collecting the child support from the bike rapists.
  20. I just looked online and my cap has the 5 bolt pattern so I'm not sure it'll work can you send me the distances between the mounting bolts. I checked their website and the mount is 50 bucks.
  21. When I get home ill check my tank.does it replace the stock gas cap? How does it install?
  22. I've got about 950ish miles on my 2012 zx10 and here's my thoughts on it. The ergonomics are ok but a better seat for my boney ass is needed. All the electronics are pretty cool. I haven't changed the settings on the traction control (tc) or power modes yet. The TC is set at 2 right in the middle and I have it at full power. The gauges are cool and it has the option of a race mode where the gear indicator takes up most of the screen and mph replace the clock. It also has a stopwatch style timer so you can have a pretty close idea for your lap times and overall time. I use it to time segments of my ride to work sometimes. It also has an option to display the amount of gallons you've used so you don't have to wait for the gas light. It will also tell you your current and average mpg's along with engine temp or intake air temp.. The 600mile recommended break-in sucked knowing how much power you were missing out on keeping it under 6000rpms out of the 13,500 it has until the rev limiter. For driving around its great but from a stand still the gearing is too tall for super fast take offs without doing a drag race style launch. (which I can't do). But at 4,000rpms it comes to life and takes off like a liter bike should. Then around 5-6,000rpms the front tire starts to come up and you gotta hold on or it feels like its going to leave you behind floating in the air like the willey coyote. And at 8,000rpms the TC kicks in slightly to smoothly lower the front wheel without slowing you down. It keeps accelerating like a demon fleeing from hell upto to 12,000rpms which is where I let off the throttle because its a little above the legal speedlimit of any place I know of. The steering dampner is a little weak and it'll get a little wobbly when the front tire comes down if your holding on too tight. (which feels necessary to stay on the bike under hard acceleration). When you get the bike in the twisties its a blast and handles awesome. With a curb weight of 437 lbs it feels super light and nimble. I still haven't gotten confident enough in the TC to realy punch the throttle on corner exits but I can say I can give it more throttle coming out of the corners than any other liter bike I've been on. The US models have been restricted significantly down to around 168hp. Since that's not enough I'm planning on getting the ecu reflashed by Don Guhl which should bump the Hp up about 20hp and move the rev limiter to 14,000rpms among other things. But this bike is scary fast and light but very manageable. The TC is very helpful and non-intrusive and can be turned off if you wanna wheelie around or do sweet burnouts.

    Career Path

1 I had a friend go to one of the big schools for motorcycle tech. He graduated and got out and started doing what he loved working on motorcycles. Then even though business was good and money was good enough he got burnt out and decided to join the army at 27 years old. I asked why he was giving it up and he said that making his hobby his job ruined his passion for motorcycles. 2. Maybe go down to Larry Pegram's shop (if its still open) and ask around if there is anyone that can point you in the right direction. 3. Try to get ahold of the Honda plant in Marysville and start asking to see if you can have a meeting with an engineer. You could also try TRC which is near the plant. A few engineers work there.
