I was expecting a lot better with the thread title. Like something that vibrated.
  3. It came factory with signals and lights and speedometer. Out here all it needed was to be registered and tagged as street legal.
  4. If this sells I also have one for anyone that misses this sale.
  5. So I went for a ride today. Out on the highway when it started getting wobbley I sat further back and it fixed that. Then I got off onto a mountain road made of dirt and rocks and it handled pretty good. When I hit the washboard I gave it more gas and it did well. When I got home I started running laps around the yard. (i live in the desert so its pretty much dirt.) After a couple laps I decided it was too bumpy since it had been disc'd and rutted up by a tractor prior to me moving in. So I decided to run the truck around a few laps to pack it down and smooth it out so I can practice my turns on dirt. All that did was break it up and turn it into about 6 inches of loose dirt that is impossible for me to control the bike in. Now I've got to get ahold of a drag and/or a roller to fix it.
  6. It's a 2008 klx450 not bored or anything. Here's an old article on it. http://www.dirtrider.com/reviews/dirt_bike/141_0703_2008_kawasaki_klx_450/index.html

  9. Thanks guys. This bike is pretty quick for the street and scary fast in the dirt! I love it.
  10. Just race on the street. If you do it enough you can even race the police. The only problem is legally its frowned upon and the trophies suck.

  14. I finally picked up my klx 450 today and rode it home. It's geared pretty tall to run highway speeds but still has really good acceleration. On the highway it started to get unstable / wobbly at about 75 mph. It turned good although I didn't push it because I'm new to being on a dirt bike and learning as I go. I took it on a primitive mountain road on the way home through the Coronada national forest near tombstone AZ. It was fun and scary there's no guard rails and very steep drop offs. I saw 2 horses and a couple cows on the road. Then I got back on the pavement the rest of the way home. I only got a few pics I'll upload later. O was going to get some from on the mountain but it was too narrow. It's awesome to have a bike to ride on or off road.
  15. I just bought an 08 klx 450. It's street legal and geared more for road use. The suspensions been rebuilt and tuned for a 200 lb rider by zr1 suspension. ( I'm the same size as the previous owner). It has the on road off road tires. I think that's all that's relevant to its set up. I have very little dirt bike experience so I'm learning as I go. I've read that turning a dirt bike is different than a street bike but I wanna make sure I'm doing it right. To turn I've read you weight the outside peg and lean the bike in. What exactly does that mean? What I've gathered is you press with the out side foot and have very little of your weight on the outside of the seat no weight on the inside peg and counter steer lightly with more of a upward pulling motion on the outside handle bar. Is that right? Also when I was on a gravel / dirt road and got up to speed the bike started to wobble especially on the washboarded sections of road. It felt like it was fishtailing kind of like a snake moves. I just eased off the throttle until it went away. But I was wondering if this could be a result of poor riding position?
  16. I've had the scala rider q2 works great. Basically if you can see the other person you can talk. So the range is better on flat open ground. In the hills they work great too but your not going to get the half mile range like in the open. I've made phone calls with it at 85mph no problem. I've always only used a full face helmet so I don't know how well the work otherwise. I've used them on my old cbr 1000 with an hotbodies loud ass exhaust into triple digit speeds no problem. The only thing is if you talk to yourself or sing while riding you might activate it and your buddy will know your crazy or singing brittany spears. They are great so your not using the retarded hand signs while riding to comunicate.
  17. You should set up a camera and find out what how most people treat it.
  18. This thread is worthless without pics! Lol.
  19. Sounds normal for a taller tire to me. You'll probably wear the center out a little faster but not much.
  20. What did it originally have on it? Does it pull one way? A wider tire on a more narrow rim will be taller/steeper and fall into a turn faster.
  21. The klr was really heavy for the riding I'm planning on doing. I want to hit some smaller more dirtbike oriented trails.
