  1. Is there a way to test the encoder motor? I've already replaced the actuator. I'll give the drive shaft a turn tomorrow when I look at it to see what's going on.
  2. Sorry bout the pics but they don't really matter for some reason I was looking at the front differential. Dumbass attack! But I found the encoder motor after removing the skid plate but I ran outta light so I'll have to look at it tomorrow. I still haven't found the vacuum line.
  3. Edit: because I can be a dumbass sometimes.

  7. Where is this vacuum line supposed to be running? I can't find any motor attached to the transfer case.
  8. Is there a way to test the switch panels?
  9. Ok cool ill check for a vacuum line in the back of the motor tonight and if there's no luck there I'll look into the transfer case motor. I think the transmission is a 4l60e but not positive. I replaced the 4x4 actuator on the passenger side of the transfer case near where the front axle goes into it. The part was from autozone for $99.99 but they and their supplier were out of stock and didn't know when it would come in. So I went to autopartswarehouse dot com and found it for $73 free shipping and bought it Sunday. It came in last night and I installed it. I wouldn't call it a lemon but I'm a lil pissed about the issues that it has that I wasn't told about and I've called and expressed my feelings about it but it doesn't change anything. So far I still feel its a good buy and worth the work. It was owned by an old couple and the guy died and granny couldn't climb into it so she had her daughter sell it to help with funeral costs. Being old people in Arizona I doubt the 4x4 was ever used by them. I should have thought about that when I test drove the truck and tried it instead of just asking like a dumb ass. Oh well live and learn I guess.
  10. Yeah the box on the firewall looked stock it was square and gray. Where / how should I start testing stuff?
  11. As some of you know I just bought a 97 silverado z71. The 4 wheel drive is electronic push button but it won't engage. I thought it was the actuator so I replaced it, but I was wrong. When I push the button for 4hi it just blinks. When I put the truck in neutral and press 4lo I can here a noise as if it engages but it doesn't and the light blinks. I've tried idling the truck forward and back but it doesn't engage. I did a search online and it said to check the voltage going to the actuator. I did and it has none. I checked the fuses all good. Another search said I need a new transfer case switch. I went to auto parts warehouse dot com (no spaces) to price one but couldn't find it. I did find a transfer case motor though. WTF is that, is it the same as a transfer case switch? I had bought a repair manual but it only had the floor "stick" to engage the 4x4 not the electronic system so I returned it.
  12. Ok, as far as I can tell its factory well at least the switch is. I try to look tonight after work.
  13. Alright cool thanks man. I start digging through my box of bolts hope I can find it.
  14. Awesome, congrats man good luck.
  15. Cool thanks, do you know how long the bolt is by chance? I've got a huge box full of them.
  16. Yes I thought of this afterwards, you know how you get in those oh shit moments and forget the simplest things.
  17. Yeah I hit the breaks pretty hard, I was heading towards slower traffic and thought I was going to hit them. I'll double check that the brake lights work. The first thing I looked at when I got home were the cables and they looked normal. If I pulled them buy hand with the engine running they would reset like they should but obviously I can't really pull it like the cruise would without reving the engine too high.
  18. So I picked up the new ( to me ) 97 silverado today. I was driving down the highway had the cruise control at 80 started coming up on some slower traffic and tapped the brakes then the cruise didn't kick off. The truck started to accelerate like the throttle was stuck. I'd hit the brakes and the truck would slow down but it would accelerate as soon as I let off the brakes. I tried switching it off (the cruise control) and nothing it kept accelerating. I slid it into neutral and the rpms jumped so I put it back in drive. The only other thing I could think to do other than put it back in neutral and let the engine blow was to stomp on the accelerator and hope it breaks free. It worked. A lil while later I decided to see if it was a freak occurrence and set it again, same result. Any idea what the heck is happening or how I can fix it?
  19. In Galion? Are you sure it wasn't a fiero?

Todd you still going to go look at that trailer this weekend?
  21. Check out mastersofconcealment dot com they have some neat shit. Got my t-shirt holster from them.
  22. Got the new fuelpump installed and the bike fired up and ran a lil tough at first but ran ok considering it sat for 3 years.
  23. The rails on my trailer were to narrow for my 195 tire so I flared them out where the tire ended up, worked fine.
  24. Sorry about that its bigger in person I swear. That's the best I can do for now.
