  1. I do have kids and I think that turning this into a sexual crime is a bit over kill. Get them for what they did, don't blow it up and become a fanatic, that is what they do, you want to be like them?

I'm just so very angry. I need a hug.

  2. No, I get what you're saying. Believe me. I totally understand. It's weird that PETA did that. It's creepy that PETA did that. It would piss me off if ANYONE approached them that wasn't known to me and to them. I don't have kids, but I have nieces that are 5 and 6. I love those girls like they're my own. It still doesn't make it illegal, though.

  3. I'm not the Franklin County Prosecutor, so take this with a grain of salt. I know a little bit about law, though. :) If your daughter had been "assaulted" by the evil girl elephant, you couldn't press the charges, unless given a referral from the police officer, who wasn't pressing charges. You're not going to get a referral if it was investigated, and determined that no crime had been committed. It doesn't work that way. You don't like it, but PETA has every right to assemble on a sidewalk. They didn't go into the school, and walk into classrooms. They stayed outside, on public property (the sidewalk).

To answer your other question, yes, a homeless man in a ski mask could stand on the same sidewalk, and if he was attractive to a kid, he could give them a hug. Hugging is not a crime, unless the kid says "don't hug me". Only then does it go from weird, but legal, to illegal.

A jury of your peers decides if a crime has been committed. A monkey can press charges. Defence attornies cost money. Assembling and making physical contact are two very different things.

Chevy... feel free to weigh in... If a member of the Patriot Guard walked over and "embraced" one of the dip-shit protestors, what would happen?

  4. We don't have kids of our own, Cheech. Our opinions on this are invalid. You just better pray you don't accidentally bump into a kid while walking through Target. Apparently, that's grounds for a beatdown. :boxing: Plus, it makes you a pedophile. Even if the cops say you did nothing wrong. Weird, huh?

You'll know what I mean some day.

  5. Gross Sexual Imposition? Seriously?? Dude, I understand that this idiot was on or near school grounds unannounced and uninvited distributing propaganda to your daughter. I get that. Charging him/her with gross sexual imposition is a incredibly knee-jerk reaction. So you're going to put this person on a sex-offender list for the rest of their life? Charge them with trespassing on school property, loitering, littering, or if you wanted to get technical about it, misdemeanor assault.

I'm going to assume that you don't have kids. A stranger, in a mask, putting their arms around your daughter.... So can homeless guys in ski masks stand outside the schools and hug our kids? Like I said, there would not likely be a conviction, but I would press the charges if my daughter was one of the assaulted ones.

  6. watch "food inc."

I'm all for eating meat, but 'factory' farms are not only cruel to animals, but pretty gross...

But it drives down the cost of food, so people turn a blind eye.

My family is doing it's best. We get a good portion of our meats and much of our produce from either my wife's garden, Perry County woods, or CSAs. Our milk is delivered from Snowville in Athens (all free-range, non-injected cattle). But its something we choose to do and I don't really care if anyone else does it. That's the difference.... pushing the agenda on others.... and touching a child- that just calls for ass-beating. I hope the parents of one of the children who was hugged presses charges for gross sexual imposition. May not end up in a conviction, but would waste some defense money. My daughter had enough sense to walk on home.

  7. the elephant -- Holly Petersen, a 21-year-old PETA intern from New Zealand -- travel to cities ahead of the Ringling Bros. circus, which is to be at Nationwide Arena on May 13-16.

Not been confirmed, but I'm thinking Holly Petersen has no nuts to be kicked in. I think PETA is on the same playing field as Westboro Baptist Church, but somehow, I don't think a 21 year old girl and another woman is anything to get too worked up over.

Any stranger in a mask touching my child is worth getting worked over.

  8. I like my P.E.T.A better

    People

    Eating

    Tasty

    Animals

Maybe we can go to the school and show the kids the other side my serving say deer burgers :D

(with permits and permission of course, because that is how my PETA rolls)

I'm sure my 9 year-old daughter would have been happy to show them how to cleanly gut said elephant without the slightest hint of fecal contamination.

  9. Aww, the poor elephants.

I know there may be a hint of sarcasm in there, but I honestly don't take my kids to the circus. I have rules for the treatment of animals in my house... 1) treat with kindness, respect, and dignity and 2) You kill it, you eat it.

  10. they've been doing this shit for years

Throwing paint on some politician is one thing, but messing with kids is quite another. I'm a card-carrying, CCW-holding, red-blooded member of the NRA, but I don't want some stranger showing up (unannounced and unsanctioned) at my kid's school dressed from head to toe as Eddie Eagle passing out stuff either.

  11. A douche bag dressed as an injured elephant showed up outside of my daughter's school today to pass out comic books showing the cruel treatment of circus elephants. They were from P.E.T.A, they were not supervised, nor invited to be on the school grounds. These fuckers crossed the line today. We had a stranger, with a mask on, dressed in a child-enticing costume, passing out child-enticing comic books to push their twisted agenda. I really wish I had been there.

I accidentally posted in Rantings and Ravings as well.... rookie mistake.

  13. That's interesting. From looking at the Yammy website, the engine is pretty close to the same. I wonder if the FZ6 electronics can be swapped to the R version to get the same power? Is the engine the same?

I'm no expert, but I believe that both the FZ6 and FZ6r are derived from an older R6 motor and are just tuned differently both from the R6 and from each other.

  14. "Sure. When I got mine I sat on both a FZ6 and the FZ6R, they had them both at Honda NW. I liked the R cause it was about an inch lower and has a single headlight instead of the dual, for some reason I hate the dual headlights, on any bike. I like the look of a single light much better. I also liked the handlebars, a real bar, not clips."

I get a lot of "you've got a headlight out" comments, so now I just ride with the brights on. Vanity pushed me towards the FZ6 since the shop only had the "r" in yellow with the giant superstar on the side and white/pink. Now back to Moose's dilemma... You have a cruiser, so if it was my decision, I'd go adventure/touring or decaf. sport bike like mine, the FZ6r, ER6-N, or Ninja 650r. Just my opinion and we all have those.

  15. I wish I had gotten my FZ6R dyno'd couple weeks back but ended up leaving

early cause of the fricken sandstorm kickin around the parking lot. I'd like to see what it'd do.

I've never dyno-ed before either. Maybe we could meet up some time. I'd love to try the "r". I was just using the information available on the webz.

  16. The FZ6 is the street fighter version of the "beginner" sport bike. The FZ6R is the fully faired version. This is for their current models.

The YZF R-6 is the full-on supersport.

It's a little more than that. The FZ6R puts out about 65+- horsepower while the FZ6 is 95+- HP. They're quite different bikes.

  17. Reading MSN's version, it sounds like it really was no big deal.... hence the potential minor violation. Picture yourself hearing that Air Force One was taking off from an airport near where you happen to be. You pull in a lot to watch. Some black-suit dudes ask what you're doing. You say "I wanted to see the president" in a "hey I wanted to see the president's plane take off or maybe catch a glimpse of this kinda-famous cat" way. You happen to have a piece because you have a CCW permit (according to news, he did) and some police shit in the car because you're a serious wannabe cop (again, MSN said this was the case). That could have been many of us.... again I'm writing based on MSN's article. Who knows, it could come back that this guy is Al Qeida in Coshocton's lead terrorist.

P.S..... can't get spellcheck to work on this computer, so forgive the errors.

  18. TECHNICALLY they both need to be there in front of the Notary to do it. The purpose of the Notary is to certify that the person is who they say they are, from my understanding.

Possibly "Technically", not sure..... I've sold several vehicles, bikes, boats, etc... I usually get the title notarized by the bank before I even list it for sale. Makes things go much more quickly. I've never been asked to have the purchaser present.
