  1. Before people start coming at me with pitchforks and calling me Hitler...let me explain. 1st off, i like old people. I was very close with my grandma, and losing her...was one of the roughest things to go through. Secondly: It would be different if these older people were bikers to begin with. Clearly, they've seen the motorcycles...and the the people associated with them....and want to play the part. Look like them, dress like them, etc. They're putting make up on for god's sake...to look like bikers. Quoted from the article...to look "fearsome". Really? I think if this was a group of 18-50 year olds, people would be singing a different tune. You don't become a biker to look cool, or try to fit in with people....or just to say you were on a bike. Your a biker, because you love motorcycles...the performance....the sounds, the smells, the sights, the ride....everything. Not just one part of it. To look cool.

You know....if this was a bunch of 20-30 year olds, all of them would take it one step further. Buy some 150-180 hp sportbikes....some V-rods, and harleys with ape hangers, maybe buy some chaps...bandana's, skull caps, half helmets and wrap the bike(s) around a tree. All in part...because they wanted to look cool.

That's the only problem i have with it. And...also this.

"One of our residents, Katie, just turned 97, and she got up with her walker and shook her booty," Kaplan said. "She shook it good."

No 97 year old woman should be shaking anything! Think about it, would you want your sweet innocent grandma doing that? I wouldn't...

I agree...i'm all for people enjoying themselves...especially older folk. Just...maybe not this.

    Lighten up, Francis!

  2. Pure practicality. I commute via I-70, so I was looking for something with comfortable ergonomics, good fuel consumption, good looks, and some balls. The FZ6 fits the bill. It'll do 150+ (so I've read), gets 45-50 MPG, and is beautifully understated. For me, it's my perfect bike. Now if I was going to add to the stable, but keep the FZ6, I'd likely end up with a cruiser, a GS, or even a track bike. For the reality of my situation though, the FZ fits the bill. I don't have delusions of Rossi nor do I have room for a bar and shield tattoo on my ass. She's staying warm in her blanket right now, so pics in a few weeks.

  3. Uh, great review, but you might want to check facts before one, you ride a bike and then two, before you blog the "test ride".

    It's not an in-line 4... Twin, buddy...

I'm far too new to the forum to put out venomous sarcasm. But if I would have been a respected veteran of the site, I might point out that one should really research their point before embarrassing themselves. It's an I-4. Sorry.:dunno:

  4. Exactly. Those who think it is hard to assemble/disassemble didn't read the instructions. It took me 30 minutes to learn how to do it and now I can do it under 20 seconds.

Ruger Mark III by far. Buck mark second. Sig = sucks. (I have a P226 9mm that I bought new last year and I love it- but the mosquito is a waste)

My point... 30 minutes to learn, compared to my 1911s, Sigs, Glocks, Walthers which can be field-stripped with blindfolds on. I'm still pro-Ruger, don't get me wrong. It's just a different take-down than your standard pistols and takes some practice. I've had a standard Mark II with 6.5 inch barrell, and a Government Mark II with the bull barrell. Great guns!

  5. I looked at the ruger they look nice but I did not like the way they broke down to clean them and the genral functions of the gun seemed off to what I am use to. I know the sig and the p22 are ammo picky. Jbots p22 changed poi almost 2-3 inches when I went from his thunderfarts to my fed bulk. I couldnt hit shit with his gun was way low and right. Loaded up some fed bulk copper hp and it moved right onto target? I heard the sig likes minimags.

Gotta admit, my Mark II was THE hardest gun to field strip that I have ever owned. Liked it though.

  6. The Sigs are pretty slick. I have a P226 and love it. As for the .22s, I've had several of those listed. The buckmark was the most accurate, but jammed all the time. If I was to go to the store today for a new one, I'd likely get a Ruger with a bull barrel.

  7. I live in Franklin County, pay zoo taxes, AND pay for a season-pass AND donate when asked. Now, is it the government's responsibility to support a Zoo? No, but there are many worse things sucking our tax money. If people would step up and support the things they feel are valuable to themselves and society, we wouldn't need to tax. So, yes... my family loves the zoo. Can't wait to see the bears.

  8. How do you guys recommend carrying with a tshirt? Like I said, I have a pocket holster in the mail, but other than that, man it'd be hard!

DeSantis "Tuck This" IWB fits my .38 snubbie well and is super-comfy. Don't even realize it's there most of the time. I don't like them for auto-loaders though. They have an extra mag-pouch on the front that just takes up extra space.

  9. S&W snubbie .38 on the hip and a Glock 26 in the cage. The Glock is a little bulky for comfortable carry, but the .38 snuggles nicely. Sometimes I'll take the PPK if I'm feeling frisky. I generally don't carry on the bike as I haven't found a good rig for it. I'm afraid the .38 will wiggle out of the holster at speed, and I don't want a shoulder rig prohibiting me from removing my jacket. Thoughts? Best carry technique for a bike? Used the Search feature and didn't find anything specific so bare with me if I've dug up a beaten topic.
