  1. However, they are fine for cankle carry if you are a large-framed woman.
  2. Two schools of thought: 1). Rent/borrow until you find the perfect gun. 2). Buy something and learn to use it perfectly. Don't stress about calibre, but ammo prices and availability should be considered. And don't buy cheap. You'll spend more down the road.
  3. I'm getting irritated with NBC referring to it as a "sex scandal". It's child molestation.
  4. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... much better now.
  5. A much better buy than a FiveseveN. Similar ballistics in a less expensive package, shooting cheap, available ammo.
  6. Ringo may be interested. He's an animal-lover.
  7. What would you have purchased h had you been so inclined?
  8. Good shit right there. My Bel-Airian friends introduced me to that oddity.
  9. Allow me to apologize for quoting my own unfinished thought. The drink made me do it. That being said... not to be a gun-snob dick, but if a real hi-power is prone to jamming, the replica is sure to be a problem. With guns, you really have to either watch out for poor quality, lower your threshold for failure, or stick with proven brands. Personally, a gun that doesn't go bang every time isn't worth the space in the safe. Glocks rule, M&PS drool!
  10. I spent $500 on a Browning Hi-power that jammed all the time. Sold it. 2 years later bought a beautiful blued $700 Browning Hi-power that jammed all the time. I will never own one again.
  11. Something is always better than nothing, but spend some time with a larger caliber prior to making the decision. The single six is more of a camp plinker. Actually just sold mine for $400 three weeks ago.
  12. I think it was around $100 in 2004. NASR provided the guns. I used a variety including revolvers, HK, and a Wilson 1911.
  13. I would love to have been the guy who wrote that story. Fantastic!
  14. My favorite is when the gun counter guys are full of shit. I can handle pompous asses, but pure misinformation just pisses me off: FFF... "no such thing as a Glock 30SF. SF means 'slim frame' and it's the G36SF but we don't have any" Waldrens- Nerk... "gun Smith" couldn't field strip my 1911... need special tools (I wasn't asking him to, but he was going to show me a Wilson sight). Gander... "Why is this XD more expensive than that one?" "That one comes with the free gear." Gander... overheard telling a woman customer "Don't buy Glocks from Vances. They may be cheaper, but they're cheaper because they use used parts in them". Gander... "Why did all of your prices go up $60 this past weekend?" "All guns now come with one year of free cleaning and repair warranty." I've been addicted to guns for a while.
  15. I only purchase there if I know what I want and can't find it cheaper elsewhere.
  16. OR <3 making unnecessary points! Welcome!
  17. Also... gun forums are full of know-it-all pricks. Here, we have know-it-all pricks who ride too. What's not to love?
