  1. DuDisclaimer: I'm not an asshole, so don't take it as such.

I can understand your desire to get back on the bike through whatever means necessary. It's a quirky setup, but if its been tested, and allows you to ride, I'm happy to give to the cause. Skipping forward, and asking for a stand up wheelchair and, of all things, a house is a little beyond the spectrum of helping someone out, isn't it? I know I'll probably get flack for posting it, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who will read it and say, "wtf, a HOUSE?!"

  2. Not everyone has full coverage ins and alot of ins companies will deny the life flight charges if they dont deem the injuries to be life threatening then its on you.

That's nothing short of asinine. From my previous life, I remember ems on scene makes judgment on whether crew flies, or stays on standby. I don't know you well, but what I do know, I would trust your assessment of an injuries severity over an insurance company.

Agreed, not everyone is fully insured. It sucks.

  3. Isn't that what we have insurance for, though? Ive never been life flighted, but I did get taken in an ambulance a couple of years ago. All I paid out of pocket for that, two nights in hospital, and everything was $100.

Not everyone has health insurance, I know, but my bike insurance also has medical coverage.

  4. I took my bike in because it was fooked. Throttle wouldn't work, and after myself, and several others couldn't get it fixed, I decided it was time to get it fixed by the shop. Moose came and picked it up at my house on his day off, which was awesome of him, and they got it taken care of. It needed new throttle cables, as well as a new switch box. I finally got it back on Wednesday, and I'm very happy with the results. It works, I've put a little over 800 miles on it since Friday morning, and it's great. Throttle still kinda hangs a little bit, but since its new parts, I'm thinking it's just a Vstar thing. Definitely recommend the Pony for repairs and service in Cbus.

  5. It was definitely a great ride. As far as the small group getting separated, I look at it as we just got some extra riding in while you guys sat in the sun at a gas station. :D

@Unclepunk-- you look um, different than I expected. Like others have said, though. Once you buzzed us a few times, I knew it was coming, and moved over, both to let you by, and so you couldn't get my ass on your way by. I raced ya one time, but I don't think you noticed. lol.

It was a fast ride. The accidents happened near the front of the pack, I think. I had to work to keep up (cruiser + low curve/turn skills), but it was a great experience and definitely great meeting those of you I got to chat with.

To the person with the white cruiser, thanks for the company at the back! ;-)

Hey, that was me. You're welcome. We were like the stodgy old adults keeping all those hooligans on their zippy bikes in line. :D Yes, we could definitely get together and ride sometime.

The white cruiser with you was REDROCKET04. Nice guy for sure.

Thanks. You're a nice guy, too.

It wasn't the buzzing by that was a problem it was the grabbing our asses each time you did it

You were there? Check out the quote above. I guess I'm not a tool in real life. This makes us happy.

All in all, it was a great day. The heat sucked, but the pink bikini girl mowing the lawn made it worth the misery.

I'd like to thank the Columbus crew again for pissing off the psycho chick in the Grand Am on the way home, so that she could try to keep me from passing, and then flipping me off when I did it anyway.

  6. Did an OR sanctioned group B&E happen, yet? Im up for it, just wanna make sure Ben is covering legal fees, should we get caught inside a $2m mansion that, ya know, isn't ours...

Let's do this. It's been posted a year and a half, so ok sure its on everyone's mind.

  7. Yeah Tom - how about the ambulance coming off 270 at Cleveland Ave heading to St. Ann's? Lights and sirens blaring away and they merged right in with us!! LOL!! Who gets out of the way for who???

I'd go with Amber Lamps gets the right of way in that situation. I guess I missed seeing the guy getting off the freeway that didn't get it...

  8. Cruisers don't handle like a sport bike, obviously. I scraped my floorboard today on a very mild curve. I'm right there with you on the dilemma. I didn't get anywhere near the limits with my sportbike, but I didn't need to. I still loved everything about it. Cruisers are slow at everything. They accelerate slowly, they shift slowly, they stop slowly.. but there's a whole lot to be said for riding long distances and still being able to walk with no major aches. I'd like another sportbike, but only for quick runs, and fun. Long weekends like this, and a cruiser can't be beat.
