I've responded to an "out of control kindergartener". I didn't tase him though. Instead, I chose to punch the little fuck in the mouth. Then I turned to mom and said you won't be needing us anymore! (Maybe that is how it went in my mind...it's a little fuzzy). However, I did arrest a 10 year old on Saturday night after he tried to stab his cousin for breaking his X-Box controller.

The Franklin Co. court may be very soft when it comes to giving criminals actual prison time, but you can be damn sure the pissers are going to get their 10 years as registered sex offenders!

I don't remember gas being that cheap in '97, but I also had a company car and gas card, so, I really didn't pay ANY attention to the price of gas at the time.

When I had my moped ('86), I was 14 and paying $.75/gal. I couldn't believe gas went up to $1.00/gal soon after that.

To add to this, I am planning on replacing my clutch before the Deals Gap trip in June. I was at Iron Pony this morning and priced new (OEM) steels and plates. The counter guy I talked to suggested that I look at aftermarket because my "bike takes 8 steels, and there are only 9 left in the world." Obviously, I don't buy that but, it isn't unreasonable either. The manufacturers obligation to produce replacement parts for my bike has long since expired on my almost 20 year old bike. My question is, how many people run aftermarket clutch parts, and do they perform acceptably?

Bruce Forgrave was my paint tech when I worked in the body shop and the one that got me into Akzo Nobel. He later became my boss there. I have personally had collision work done by him in his current shop, and it was excellent! If you don't mind the drive, he would be an excellent choice!

I can only imagine that this is directed toward me. The title of the thread isn't Input from PROFESSIONAL mig welders. The title is Input from EXPERIENCED mig welders. I my not be a certified ship builder, but I was trained by one for 2 years, and now have 22+ years of experience. I kind of thought I was qualified to comment.

Both Miller and Lincoln make good equipment, but I have always been partial to Lincoln. That being said, I own a cheap but nice functioning Clarke.

T.V. and movies jack everything up for us.

We don't cary those on the street. We only use them for tactical situations like riots or situations where there will be mass arrests. You would NEVER use a taser when you have a person running toward you wielding a knife! The only time might be if you would have good cover and another officer with deadly force back up. Because the chance of hitting a moving target (especially one running at you) with a taser is slim to none. The margin of error is so great that if/when the taser fails, the officer is DEAD.

I was fine, as well as the other officers. You are correct, she is innocent in the eyes of the law, until proven guilty. However, the police are not "the law" they are law enforcement. So, while she is very much innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of the law, she is very much guilty in the eyes of the officers. If the officers didn't feel she was guilty, they could never justify arresting her and taking away her right to freedom. As far as how did she slip her cuffs, cuffs don't fit everyone. There are some females (or males for that matter) with wrists as small as a 12 year old, and cuffs are not made for them.

Unfortuneately, when officers take someone into custody and they require medical treatment, the department that is in custody of the person is responsible for their medical bills if they don't have insurance. I can't talk much about it because it is still an ongoing case, but last summer I arrested a man who had just committed a home invasion, attempted to kidnap the home owner, and then stole his car. I had a use of force on him because he was grabbing for his weapon (which it turns out had fallen out), and he ended up in the hospital for a couple of weeks. He was in the hospital for so long because he had a blood disorder that he contracted in 1997 when he jumped in the river in Youngstown after running from their police department. He ended up getting a bone marrow transplant on our department. It's BULLSHIT, but that is how it goes.
