  1. I too am in big favor of the new law. My company has a very secure parking area, but company policy prevents having a weapon in your car while parked on company grounds. there is a nice indoor range about two miles from my work, so this has always been a pain in the butt. So i got into a heated discussion with another pro gun guy that doesn't like the new law. His concern is the loss of liberty to private employers who he feels should be allowed to set these policies for their own property. i see his point, just disagree that individuals lose rights over their own property (their car) because it's parked at work. interested to know what others think. ......
  2. Most people are using tumblers with an ultrasonic soap wash and stainless steel tumbling media. I have the Frankford Arsenal tumbler and have had great results, mostly with necked rifle brass. Brass looks new when done. In terms of removing crimps, i typically reem them out but i know a lot folks that swage them out instead with one of these. http://www.rcbs.com/Products/Case-Preparation/Accessories/Primer-Pocket-Swager-Bench-Tool.aspx
  3. Mini 14s are a blast, figuratively and literally. The flash that comes out of that muzzle is awesome. GLWS.
  4. Hope you give that 1911 another try. I mean, they've been winning for over 100 years, there must be something right about them. Also suggest HKs as in USP or HK45. But you can buy a lot of 1911 for HK money.
  5. Very lightly used M&P9 with box, papers, extra back straps, and two 17 rd magazines. Pistol looks new, has had very few rounds through it. Followers on the mags look unused. Selling for my nephew, not interested in trades. $450 firm to ohio residents who are 21+ yrs old only.
  6. 2008 Aprilia RSV1000 R Factory 54xx Miles $6500 Located in Columbus, OH Clear title Please PM or email with questions, email is the same as my handle + @yahoo.com Super clean bike in excellent condition. Includes: Leo Vince dual Titanium Slip-on exhausts Brembo brakes and clutch Ohlins Suspension and Steering Damper Aprilia CF Front and Rear Fenders Factory Magnesium Wheels Woodcraft GP Shift Rearsets CRG Levers Tires are <1000 Miles - Michelin Pilot Power 3s Installed Last Year, practically new Enough Agip Oil and Aprilia Filters to complete 2 oil changes Owner's manual, spare key, and all the OEM parts I have are included Adult ridden/owned, bike is in very good/clean condition. New battery in 2014, stored with battery tender. Bike will come with lots of extras, and and all OEM parts I still have, two keys, extra Agip oil with filers, passenger seat and some other things I'm sure I've forgotten to add. This bike was originally a Red Lion but suffered a low side at low speed. Red Lion body work (especially the tank) is so hard to find and so expensive I decided to just buy all new body work in a style that was easier to source. Quite literally, the Red Lion tank alone was almost $2000, and there were no parts available in the US at all. So instead of waiting for one to come up at a ridiculous price I bought the entire set of the black body work for about $2300. That's why the body work installed is Aprilia Black=a.blk 06 body work per the following page:http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...nstration-RSVR All the carbon fiber pieces that are unique to the Factory were retained, as were the gold wheels and frame. All OEM parts were used except for the levers. The OEM clutch lever was too expensive so I just replaced both with CRG. Otherwise, all OEM parts were used. The result was a unique bike in a great looking color scheme. Guaranteed there's not another out there like this one! T his bike rides and sounds great. I have not had any mechanical issues with it and still ride it frequently. I'm selling because I'm looking to get a cruiser so that my wife and I can share the ride.
  7. 2008 Aprilia RSV1000 Factory 45xx Confirmed Miles $7700 - Located in Columbus, OH Clear Title, In Hand Please PM or email with questions, email is the same as my handle + @yahoo.com The Good: Low miles bike that's in exceptional condition. Include Leo Vince dual Titanium Slip-on exhausts. Brembo brakes and clutch Ohlins Suspension and Steering Damper Aprilia CF Front and Rear Fenders Factory Magnesium Wheels Woodcraft GP Shift Rearsets Custom Embroidered Seat Cover Tires are <1000 Miles - Michelin Pilot Power 3s Installed Last Year, practically new Enough Agip Oil and Aprilia Filters to complete 2 oil changes Owner's manual, spare key, and all the OEM parts I have are included Adult ridden/owned, bike is in very good/clean condition. New battery Battery Tender included. The Not So Good: This bike started it's life as a RSV1000 Factory Red Lion. Soon after I bought it I had an unfortunate low side on a freeway on-ramp which resulted in rashing of one side of the bike and the tank. There is also a scratch in the frame from the rearset. It turns out that Red Lion parts are almost impossible to find, especially a new fuel tank. Therefore the decision was made to replace the red lion body work with an alternative color scheme which was in stock and available at AF1 Racing. All the body work was replaced. It was quite literally cheaper to buy ALL NEW body work for this bike than trying to buy the few pieces of Red Lion that I needed. The result is a unique RSV1000 Factory, I promise there's none other like it, and it looks damn good. Body work installed is Aprilia Black=a.blk 06 body work per the following page: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?111490-OEM-Parts-Diagram-Demonstration-RSVR The other result is that the bike is immaculate, the body work has less than 1000 miles on it.
  8. Sorry, sold this weeks ago.
  9. Thanks for the heads up on the Desert Tech. Problem with Desert Tech/DTA is that they never made any lefty friendly bolts and their righty bolts are damned expensive. Not expecting much in the way of an affordable lefty friendly semi-auto from these guys. I don't need the bullpup to be precision gun either, they're just cool.... an easier alternative to an SBR. By the way, the reason I'm selling this Sako is because I recently acquired a TRG-42 in 300 WM. It too will be making a visit to Mark's shop here shortly for the same muzzle treatment.
  10. Selling my Sako TRG-22 in the rare dark earth color. The Sako TRG platform is considered one of the greatest values in long range precision rifles as comparible accuracy typically only comes with hand built rifles costing thousands more. Also very lefty friendly due to the stock and trigger design. This rifle is .308 caliber with a 26" bbl. Only 853 rounds fired out of this rifle, it's got lots of life left in it and shoots like a champ. Easily a 3/4 MOA gun, and with a better shooter I'm sure it could produce 1/2 MOA results. Includes one 10rd magazine, a 6" Harris Bipod, and what appears to be a Vector Options dovetail to Picatinny scope base (this base came with the rifle and I never used it as I already had one of my own). Also comes with the factory box, manual, and lock Muzzle was rethreaded and recrowned by Mark Gordon at Short Action Customs. Rethreading was to convert from factory M18 x 1.0 RH pitch to 5/8 x 24 RH to provide compatibility with a broader variety of muzzle devices. A custom thread protector is also included. Asking $2500 Prefer FTF in Ohio but can ship to a FFL at buyer's expense if needed. Only trades I would consider would be lefty bullpups (AUG, MSAR, Tavor) PM if interested or email me using my OR handle @yahoo.com.
  11. Have an Eotech XpS2. It does what it's supposed to, no complaints.
  12. Sorry, but that article (especially consdering that it's quoting a study from Mother Jones of all places) is complete garbage. You can't have a "discussion" about these topics if the "facts" you use to make your point are misleading, out of context, and ignore other relevant facts (i.e. the fact that the violent crime rate involving guns is on a constant decline over the last 30 years, and that cities with the most restrictive gun laws also have the highest crime rates). I agree that this is a polarizing issue, and that as a result few legitimate solutions to the problem can be found in such an environment. I also believe that the pro 2A crowd need to take the lead on increasing awareness around crime and sensible gun ownership, including making safe gun storage one the commandments to safe gun ownership. But I also feel that each time a mass shooting occurs those who don't like guns stand on the graves and wave the bloody shirts of the victims to make use of an opportunity to get rid of the thing they don't like. For example, none of the legislation passed in New York would have any impact on preventing Sandy Hook. I also believe that each time new gun legislation is suggested that the anti-gun legislators stand on their boxes asking for "common sense" reforms and for a "compromise" to improve public safety. The problem is that their compromises only include infringements on the right, and no enhancements. For example, I'll give you universal background checks if you defund/disband the ATF. Now there's a compromise. Or I'll give you improved mental health reporting into NICS if you make all class 3 weapons fully legal and unrestricted. Unfortunately when it comes to compromise, the only comprimising that's ever suggested if for law abiding gun owners to compromise a RIGHT (not a privelage) that is guaranteed by the constitution. So yeah, consider me polarized.
  13. It may have been touched upon already on this forum, if so I haven't seen it lately. BATFE is proposing rules changes which would make transfer/ownership of NFA items nearly impossible. Basically they are looking to add CLEO sign-off requirements and finger printing and background checks for all NFA Trusts. If you live in area like I do in which CLEO will not sign off on these things these rule changes will effectively make it impossible for me to own these things unless I move. Right now the proposed rule change is in the open comments phase. Seems to me that 2400 comments isn't nearly enough. These rules fall under the Dept of Justice, as in the laws already exist and these rules don't require congressional approval. It falls within the capabilities of the DOJ to change these rules whenever they want. Sign this thing and make your voices heard. https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/09/09/2013-21661/machine-guns-destructive-devices-and-certain-other-firearms-background-checks-for-responsible#addresses
  14. None that I know of that are for sale. Would check gunbroker.
  15. Colt 1927. Its a Colt built 1911 that was made by Colt on contract for the Argentine army in what year? You guessed it, 1927. 10,000 were made and back in the 80's a bunch of them were shipped back to the US as surplus and sold to the public. These can be had for a little less than what you'd pay for an R1, but I promise you that unlike an R1 it will never be worth less than the day you bought it. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=277652
  16. HK makes some great guns, but are you sure you want to blow that much cash on a new AR? Its like buying a new car, you fire one round out of that gun and how much value does it lose? My opinion, Buy him an heirloom gun, spend your money on something that will always be worth what you paid, especially if you're willing to spend that kind of dough. Find a nice Gen 1 single action army, or a Sharps rifle, maybe even an HK91 or a Belgium made FAL. Even an original 1903 with a unertl scope is a better buy than a brand new in the box HK, and he'd be able to actually use/enjoy those guns without worrying about destroying their worth just because he's shot a few rounds through it. Something to consider.
  17. M1a is beauty of a classic battle rifle and a staple of any good collection. Unfortunately they arent too accurate out of the box so to be ablemto get them reliable beyond 300-400 yds plan to spend $$$. There are some really affordable AR rifles out there in .308 that can be had for not too much dough. Have a look at DPMS SASS or an Armalite AR-10.
  18. Rifle sold on its own but the truck is still available.
  19. Rifle is sold. Truck is still available.
  20. So buy another, duh.
  21. Sweetening the deal..... Buy this truck for asking price and I'll GIVE you the rifle. That's right, I'll give it to you. http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/102634-09-dodge-ram-sport-crew-cab-4x4/
  22. OK, so here's an idea to sweeten the pot.... If an OR member pays me the asking price of $24,500 I'll "throw in" a Rock River National Match A4 as seen here..... http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/102000-rock-river-national-match-a4/ http://rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=226 The only caveat is that the buyer must pay the consignment fee to Dale at Delta Epsilon, as well as any background check fees ($40 total). Again, this doesn't go to me, it goes to Dale at Delta Epsilon. The rifle is already there if you'd like to look at. I live about 15 minutes from Dale's shop so if you're in the area you might as well stop by to see the truck too.
  23. Well, with this you get both, and IMO it's the best looking full-sized truck on the market. But.... I'm driving 50 miles/day for work and need a car with better mileage. I'm out of the racing game, no more toy hauler to tow, so this has got to go.
