  1. That would be a good idea. Receipt necessary?
  2. Welp. I got the helmet. Bryan is good business. Though, and no blame to him, I think this is bell, but the build quality seems far inferior to my pre-snell 2010 version. The clips that hold the cheek pads in came un glued when I put the bluetooth in the side. So I hot glued them back in. The pads themselves got stuck when trying to insert them, because of the clips, so I dremeled them a little. And, the front chin bar pad was un glued from the shell, allowing the nose breath guard to flop. Super glue fixed that. A couple hours tweaking, and it is wearable. I like the fit, it stays put on my head. The pads softened on the old bell, but this shape may prohibit extraneous flop. And of course, it looks outstanding. Overall, a good purchase.
  3. Very interested. I have a medium star now, and love it. It's gloss black, and was cheap. And that paint is fresh. I saw your other post saying you were going to put this up for sale, and dismissed it. But, now, I'm thinking otherwise.
  4. It's a zx6. Idk hotwiring, but I can do circuits if I get a diagram. Maybe he's missing the internal resistance of the lock itself.
  5. just an update: Got everything in the mail, and put it on today. I was iffy about doing the link, but it held. Looks good. The new chain guard had so much material, I didn't expect it. The old one was worn way too far. Used some extra grease from the master, on the caliper pin boot. It was a pain to get the pin threaded, but I got it in. the lever feels more squishy than before though, so I'm gong to check it tomorrow. Anywho, feels good to knock things off the list.
  6. That's ok, the left side doesn't get people. My projectors have a lower left side than right side, for that reason. It's only on the occasion that the right side bounces up and gets in the mirrors of people going the same direction as me, while I cruise on their left side.
  7. No, I did mine with retrofitsource. Correct projectors, with the flapping cut off, both operate by hi-lo switch. And yes, I adjusted with me on it. I measured the height of the projectors, went to the wall, taped 2" down, went back to the bike, sat on it, wiggled and turned my adjuster screws.
  8. Probably. Hids? Better bite, as in grip? The longer arm served as a better lever for the spring force? Or, it meant less radial travel, so less disturbance to the frame.
  9. Ok. What is the hardest thing to "dial in" on the rear? If I were to decrease the arc radius, it would quicken suspension action under acceleration or braking.or the opposite to make it les intrusive.
  10. Track racers: if you could choose, would you have more swing arm travel? I'm in a kinematics of mechanisms class, and we have to design a new mechanism. I'm thinking about swing arms. In particular, doing away with the arm, and replacing its line of travel with a slot. The slot itself could be modified, changing the arc radius, or even using a straight slot for a truer spring force across the line of travel. What would be a desirable result in a system like this? asking racers because that is where all motorcycle tech trickles from.
  11. i hate people. but serious. you can find out who that phone belongs to, very easily.
  12. i'll check MOM again, but i'm pretty sure it was 2" at 25'.
  13. qft. I love my bi-xenon projectors. it's the same output, but on low beam a shroud gets in the way and blocks the beam that refracts up. Did I say I love them? Besides helping me see, They give me a lot of visibility TO other drivers. That is what I like. But, they may piss some people off. idk if you saw my "dick" thread, I'm debating to lower my angle a bit, because I get flashed occasionally. I reccommend you don't go cheap. If shit breaks, burns out, or a ballast doesn't work, or a solenoid gets stuck, you don't want to buy a new one. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ I bought from them, and they have great support. They helped me figure out the wiring too. It can be a pain to make it all fit, though. The hassle, money, and mean looks are worth it. Do it. Especially if you are a daily commuter. Imo, it really does increase your chance of being seen, and not ran over.
  14. I used the brick wall of my old apartment. measured the projector height, went to the wall, and duct taped 2" down. Back to the bike and adjusted. my cutoff is pretty clean too. So when it gets to their eyes, it's all or nothing. I already feel like I need to see more of the road... I'll check it today to make sure it hasn't moved, or I didn't screw it up the first time.
  15. Yes? to what? both? by being a biker, and being concerned for my life, i gotta be a dick? guess so. btw, i got the halo reflective helmet bands in the mail today.
  16. I put my bi-xenon projectors in over the winter. They are properly adjusted according to MOM. 2" down at whatever distance it is... But, I've been flashed 3 times this season. Twice from cars I have passed on the highway, and they flashed me from behind. I know the position of lights on a sportbike is taller than that of a car. I drive an old Prelude, and that thing is way low. I frequently get blinded by truck lights in my rear view mirror. And I don't like it, but I deal. I'm sure their lights are adjusted correctly too. So, my lights, by simply being taller are putting their rear view mirror in the bright spot. I hate being blinded, but am I entitled as a "motorcyclist" to my higher output lights for safety reasons? Or am I a dumb asshole, blinding people because I can?
  17. Yup. Went ahead and ordered everything. Including a motion pro tool, and did x ring master to match my chain.
  18. Met Hoblick at his place at 9 this morning to take off my squared PPs and slap on PR2s. Man knows his trade. And has all the fancy things to do it right. And a ton of shiney toys to distract me while he sweat working. Quick work, Good price, and a good connection. I'm reminding myself to talk to Paul too. Thanks Ryan!
  19. We got er done. The day started with me going to Hilliard and getting Hoblick to put some Road 2 on. Love them already. Got back to Lebanon, called mellodude, and he helped me to replace my swing arm. We ran into some trouble when we realized the chain has to be cut too. But, a trip to Middletown Cycle, and Harbor Freight got us to near where we needed to be. HF had a chain breaker, but not a riveter. Then, the dam pivot shaft adjuster nut confused me. But in all reality, there was no reason to mess with it. I just gently tapped the pivot shaft out. Cleaned and greased things as we went, used the torque wrench wherever possible. Finally got it all buttoned up except for the chain. But, we decided to go the redneck route in lieu of any other options. Hammer, punches, and even a ball peen. It held for the ride home, so we'll see. I'm happy. Thanks again mellodude.
  20. I go to wsu, so yah. We'll see how this works. If I don't feel safe on our, then I'll get a new master, and come find you. Thanks.
  21. We got the swing arm off. Broke the master on the chain. Got the new swing arm on. Got a new master. And are proceeding to very carefully peen it with hammers.
  22. Got the swing arm all switched, but never even realized I'd need to take off the chain unti we were working on it. Anyone local have one I can pick up for a couple hrs? Beer or cash.... school startss Monday and parking is a bitch in a car...
