Bought my bike with 4400 on it this April. Since then, I've got it to 96xx and counting. 5200 miles. Not bad, considering it's basically all just my commuting.. Wish I would have gotten to go on a good trip.

This looks nice. Glad you're keeping the chrome. IMO, it would be just too much black.

mytouch slide. it's on the android operating system. from their site, it looks like most phones will do. and it was easier for me to just download the app from the market.

My wind screen is not too bad for von karman vortices. Makes me wonder about getting a double bubble like i had originally intended. That would put the windscreen further from the helmet, and possibly make a difference for the worse..

well, for now i'm just tracking myself. it'll be interesting to see my commutes, speed-wise. could help with future trip planning as well.

Scorpion EXO-400/700/1000 Twist Grip Replacement Alrighty, I recently purchased a set of matching twist grips. Yah, so what if I want to look cool? The simple fact that I ride a motorcycle isn't cool enough for me. Anyway, I went to put them on, but to my dismay, NO INSTRUCTIONS! I don't know about you, but I don't mind tinkering with things. Even so, this helmet is one of my more costly, and important investments, so I was a little put off by Scorpion's lack of instructions. But, don't worry people, that's why I'm writing this! Plus, it's really easy and I want to feel productive today. 1. Take off your visor. If you have never done so, It's really not that hard. Open it all the way to the top, to that the arrows on the visor align with those on the helmet. Then, twist your grips! It helps to pull them forward while twisting. That allows the stop on the visor to dislodge from the nook next to the aforementioned arrow. With a little effort, it should come off. I know mine can be a pain in the rear sometimes. The EXO-1000 is made way better, probably with weaker springs, so replacing the visor is a breeze. Wow, didn't think I could write a paragraph on how to remove your visor, did ya? 2. Gently, insert the tip of a flathead screwdriver between the twist grip and the actual visor mechanism. I find that is easiest to first put it in the slot that pulls in when the twist grip is rotated. Then, for good measure, put another screwdriver in the other side. (see my attached picture) 3. Don safety glasses, and twist your screwdrivers! The twist grip will pop off, and go flying into some obscure corner of the room. This should be expected; Murphy's law states so. But really, those things do go flying. 4. Now, you can simply snap the new twist grips on… But! While you have it off, might as well lube up the sliding plastic plates with a little oil to make operation of the wretched thing just a tad gentler. You can also unscrew those flimsy, too big for anything but a fingernail screws and take the whole visor mechanism off.

I know where to find a write up for the pair valve for the Ninja 650, if anybody is interested. Also, I just whipped one up for replacing the little twist grips on scorpion helmets. Gonna try to figure out how to post it...

Hm... I really want to do this. You have to find a phone that is GPS compatible, right? And just to make sure, it still has to be on a cell plan, and the instamapper is free?

I don't see how you are still arguing this. Right now, I am in my home, probably 200 feet from a very busy road. None of the cars' exhausts are "pointed" at me, and I am in a room insulated by multiple walls. I can still hear every vehicle that rolls by. Not just the loud mustangs or 190mph bikes(which I hope there aren't any...) Sure, exhaust noise is loudest behind the vehicle, where it is being projected, but by the nature of compressional waves, which is how sound 'moves'; as soon as the air is pushed out of the muffler, waves are going in 360 degrees. Even back into the muffler...

I'm gonna have to say that I usually get annoyed by loud pipes. Especially on Harleys. I understand if it gets loud when you're at 8k rpm, but if your ears hurt around an idling engine, it needs something to shut it up. Preferably something like common decency?

Coolio. I doubt I'd be able to do any better than anybody else, as I am must certainly a newb when it comes to line selection and late breaking and whatnot.

So, my 650 is my first bike, and probably my only bike for quite some time, unfortunately. I love riding, and really want to try a track day. I realize that i would be significantly slower than any 600 out there, but I would certainly push it to the limit. has anybody seen a 650 out there? Does it get in the way or annoy people?

Petty much nothing. It velcros on to the bottom. I used my bag for about a month without it. I tuck the bungee hook under the flap that the leather pad sticks to, while using my bag as a book bag. The leather helps to soften those points from stabbing into my back.

Up for sale is a brand new, in the box, Motocentric sport tailbag, minus the lower leather pad. I already own one, and due to my own negligence, ruined the lower leather pad on my own bag. So I got another to replace the pad, and now have a whole bag, which I do not need. I personally like how it looks without the lower pad more, but I have modified my own bag into more of a backpack than a man-purse. Now, the slight extra cushion is enjoyed when this thing is loaded with textbooks, and I'm walking all around Wright State. Without my 'backpack' modification, the pad is rather useless, as the lower side of the bag is already soft fabric, which is less likely to rip a seat or scratch plastic than the leather would. Anyway, this bag is great, and I use it every day, either to haul books to school, or tennis shoes to my work(my own bag does not have the new car smell anymore ). This bag has expandable sides, and the main flap has all sorts of compartments to hold pens, a calculator, and other miscellaneous items. There are also two outer pockets on each side. I use one of them to hold the included rain cover that this bag has. The cover is black, with stretchy nylon at the bottom to hold it onto the bag. I love the 204 mph bit... I hate the fact that people don't look for bikes like they do cars. If we had more bikers on the road, they'd be harder to miss, because people wouldn't forget about them as easily...

One more reason I despise cops. This is sickening.
