Welcome! I'm a newb as well. I would like to ride into winter, but I doubt it will last long, as my commute to work is 14 miles, and to school is 25, both on the highway. Even so, I haven't driven my car in so long, I'm dreading going back to the blasted thing.

I didn't find it too bad except for one gust while on 675. Leaned me at least 10 degrees, and knocked my helmet for a sec.
-
Excuse my ignorance, but besides paint, what's the difference?
-
I'm tempted. I've been craving a real 600 ever since I got a little sample a little while ago. Problem is, I'd need to sell my bike or trade, which for this I'm guessing would be probably even...

My bad, I took too long to type in my phone.

Well my 650r is perfect for you. After telling my girlfriend about your ad, she was leery because she knows how comfortable my seat is. The driver and passenger are one piece, so she can scoot up as far as she likes. A little more info: I have sportsbars, sliders, and an integrated tail light. (have everything to make it stock) Practically fresh pilot road 2s, current on all maintenance, and just under 9k miles at this time. It's a clean bike, never wrecked. I'm the second owner, and am still in contact with the first.

If you'd consider an 06 ninja 650r, I am very interested. Your bike is beautiful!

I bought mine from gary schillings at blue ridge performance, asking with a few other things. They sent my light fine, from their warehouse. Then a couple months later, they made a booboo and put my address under his name. Conflict was resolved but not before I saw his invoice. He marks it up from 90 to 100 ish. Idk much about his business, but that does not seem like a worthwhile profit. -
Sounds lovely. Doubt a cop would check there, though. How deadly is a bludgeoning, though? Bullets hurt worse...

I ran my front until it was near bald... I had a lot of cupping. The main cause for that I believe is the tread pattern of the tire. Each piece of tread (separated by cracks that allow water to flow) acts like an eraser on a pencil held vertical. When scrubbed, the edges wear more because the rubber is pliable and the edge is pulled down to contact the road more. My front also had more wear on the left. Besides the road crown theory, there is another explanation, probably what is described in that article. We don't turn left more than right, per se, but the circumference ofa left turn is greater that that of a right turn, on a two lane road. Therefore, the left side should experience more wear. It may not seem like much, but I'm sure it adds up, considering the fact that all roads/intersections require a turn. Just my .02

I am not comfortable with the idea of having a handgun, nor is it allowed at my work. (special security clearance) but, I do have an expandable baton, ASP, the same kind most cops have. I've tried to read the ohio laws online, but it was difficult to get a clear understanding. My question is, is it legal to carry this baton on the bike, or in my tail bag? If you can't answer, anybody know of where or who could?

Look at this crap I found inside my exhaust!

I had a bicycle bell on my bike for a while there... It was hilarious to pass some ricer and ding it as I fly by. But it broke, so oh well. -
Does it get stuffy in the Noj thing? And what about fogging? I have the scorpion chin skirt, but it somehow lets a crazy jet stream straight up to my left eye sometimes. Drives me mad!

Scorpion Exo-400. I'm looking for something that's lighter, but still as comfortable as this one. Fully removable pads is a must, too.

After reading all 8 pages, I am glad to see that most everybody here wears their helmets. I always wear mine, as well as jacket gloves, boots and jeans. Sure, I get hot, but I like being alive. As far as being forced to don a helmet, I obviously wouldn't mind, as I do it anyway. Yes, that is slightly over the boundaries set for the government in the constitution, but guess what, people? Most laws are. Mandatory insurance, all things vehicle related, building codes, the "No Child Left Behind" act, and plenty are not really touched on in the Constitution. Because it is old. Laws update it, in their messed up way. Laws made by messed up, greedy a-holes. When compared to most laws in existence, I like the idea of a helmet law. Oh, and by the way, loud pipes break sound ordinances. clink, clink. $.02

Well, I'll just have to hope it holds. I don't have the money for another. Just wanting some opinions, if anybody has ever had this happen to them?

No, I don't know how to play. But the owner's car was full so I transported it.

I got my new Michelin Road 2's yesterday. And today, I hit a nail. It got lodged in my tread, and laid almost flat, which is good, but the tip did puncture about a half inch along the groove. It slid just under the skin of the rubber. When I got home tonight, I pulled it out with some needle nose pliers, and a screw driver. What do you guys think? It looks like it won't really sacrifice the integrity of the tire, will it?
-
Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't want to wait, though so I went to iron pony yesterday.
-
Well, I took a trip to Iron Pony yesterday. Shopped around, and they had a slightly better deal on the Road 2's. Next time, I'll change them before I'm too scared to wait any longer. And find out where Hoblick is. :-)

I would, but I don't even have the equipment to take my wheels off here at my mom's. And it needs done today. I don't want to go another week riding to work on these things. Which is what would happen, because I currently don't have possession of my car.
