  1. when politicians start talking about eroding the bill of rights is when I start to consider who will do the least damage in their 4 year stint, even if it's not a popular choice. this is the situation it seems we are going into for 2020, sadly. neither party will put up a moderate anymore which is a problem.

@what   How was the show?  Is it worth the trip and the $$?

I got free tickets. Lots of vendors but realistically can be seen in a couple hours. There are demo rides though I think. Didn't go out to see/do that. The flat track racing tonight was fun to watch - a couple OMRL folks were out competing.

yea going by one source is usually trash, but I kind of do the "online research" going through lot of forum posts magazines youtube videos even reddit etc to come up with a starting set of numbers which seemed close to my weight and style. Then just tweak a bit during rides and just set it later on. This strategy worked for last 2 out of three bikes with adjustable suspension. But this tracer it was waaaaay off. I am talking several clicks on preload and comp rebound etc, as if entirely different bike. then again there was not much data to go by for this bike since its still pretty new.

yes I saw the link on dave moss site for remote help, like 90 bucks something for 30 min consult. I wondered if I needed to be well prepared with all stands and measurement and may be even a helper before going that direction to make full use of the session. If that's the case I cant arrange that  :(

hoblick seems like a very viable option, but that guy so busy will be hard to get a time lined up.

I wish to just go back with a simple machine like vstrom with no adjustments and hence no headache, just learn to ride the bike as is  :)  But noooo even in suspension world  the gold color always corrupts men.

    Baller :D

Having adjustment available is soooo much better than non adjustable, even if there is a little headache getting it set up initially. Suspension really is the #1 contributor to bike handling and performance. As far as the Dave Moss thing goes, Hoblick knows exactly what he will ask you, just need to say his name 3 times to summon him to this thread.

Ive tried setting up bike via the "by the book" method and it never works. Ive set sag and made adjustment do what the so called experts say and always end up hating it. In the end you have to set it up by what feels good to you and the type of riding and roads your on. I know this is a track thread and i'll probably get flamed for this post but you can't always go by the book. I like my set up stiff and harsh and most would say its garbage, but those same folks might have issue hanging with me on the same tarmac. And vise versa, some have bike set up that feel like shit to me but they might ride circles around me.

You want the fastest set up and want to knock off lap times. Take that shit to the track. On the street set that bitch up for real world riding.

Suspension settings are situational to the rider, the track, the bike, the tires, the temperature, etc. "By the book" or canned settings you find online are generally trash, you have to have someone with a feel for all of the things listed above either tell you what to do or do it for you for a properly set up suspension. @Hoblick was just telling me that Dave Moss offers a remote suspension service for a nominal fee. Ryan is also good with setting up suspensions, so if you're (Doc) ever down this way on a ride I'm sure he'd be willing to help you out. Here I am volunteering his time for him 😂

  5. I wanna see Paul at the track on that Hyper now. I want to see all you guys at the track next year. I'm probably taking a break from Mid-O if they don't repave this winter and I can't ride there for free. If we do Pitt, I can start off in novice with everybody else! 😁

  6. Guys I lost my keys to my bike so I tried to use a screwdriver and drill out the ignition then the owner came out and beat me up even after I told him it was my bike now. How do I start my bike next time without the owner coming out and beating me up? I can't go back to prison.

  7. Got about +1hp (12.55 wheel HP with 8.6 ftlbs) on the Grom with a new tune on Saturday thanks to The Dyno Shop in Powell. Stock HP/torque on that dyno is about 7.8HP and 7.5 ft lbs - so pretty big gains. Ported head and larger TB are being installed this winter, would be awesome to see 14 wheel horsepower out of it.

Got rained out yesterday at the track and then spent the afternoon in a mad scramble getting bike title notarized to sell the thing today.

Spent today bummed out after the dude backed out at the last minute because ???

    Yay.

Also fuck selling bikes it's the worst.
