That's gotta be bad on that rear tire. Hope they have a spare on hand

Yea I know it looked high to me. I mean the volts spiked at 15.2 when its running and holds steady around 12.4-12.5 when its off. I guess I'll have to check the wires sometime today and see if their is a problem. It should be somewhere around 14 volts if I'm right. It pops when its sitting idle I have not really noticed it doing it when I ride it. When the carbs were cleaned we took out the jets and idle jets and blew them out. Their was one idle jet that we could not get out because its was stripped. So I hit it with some carb cleaner until the liquid flowed through it. As well as hitting the entire interior of the carbs. Floats were cleaned as well.

The plugs in the bike are brand new replaced them like two weeks ago. Its possible that the carbs are out of sync. The bike pop's when its sitting idle bit a pop here and their. Never really thought about it I just thought it was burning of the crud from the engine.

I used Saefoam to help clean it out seemed to work. Also my roommate and I have taken the carbs off four times to clean them out as well. The bike seems fine once its warmed up. I noticed yesterday that you have to start the bike kinda leaning to the left side a bit. I might have to readjust the idle again as well its fluctuating between 1-3,000 rpm's at idle. Have to rev to keep it from dying on me when I'm stopped I kinda look like a douche bag doing it but I gotta do it.

Im down for a ride this weekend pending how my bike is acting. I have not been on the highway yet. New rider

Yea, It tested good. Volts were 12.5 with the bike off and 15.2 with the bike on. I don't know whats going on with this bike. If anyone is in the OSU Campus area and could help me please let me know

I rode my bike to class today started fine and ran somewhat ok. I had to rev the engine to keep it from stalling out kept the rp's around 2-3,000. After class my battery was dead had to have it jumped. I tested the stator or alternator whatever you wish to call it. Heading back home I was pulling into our drive and Low-Sided the left side of the bike. I'm fine

I had the coils checked they checked out fine. I mean the bike runs fine when its sitting idle in my garage. Its just when I took it on the street last night for the first time it was acting up. Once it gets going its fine its just when you slow down it acts up. I was riding it and it seemed ok nothing really to worry about. I thought that maybe the fuel was not going in the carbs fast enough I had the valve wide open. I gonna ride it again today and see if it does it again or if it was just a fluke when I got back home last night it ran fine no problem.

No their is no sta-bil in the tank. I bought the bike about four months ago and they let it sit outside for a year. I've already cleaned out the carbs and blew out the idle jets as well.

Ok I took my bike out for a ride tonight and everything seemed to be going ok at first. My bike cut out on me once ok theist expected from a bike that has not been ran for a year or so. Get it started back again and it cuts out on me again and I have to coast into a parking lot. Spent ten minutes trying get it started back up it does and does it two more times on the way back home this time I;m stuck for twenty minutes. Anyone have any clue as to why this could happen. The fuel tank;s full and the fuel valve is wide open. I can smell the fuel running and when I try and start it it putters. I got it started enough to get it back home. I'm gonna look at it tomorrow and see if something got loose or whatever. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Success.... Hooked my bike to a volt meter and volts read 12.5 not on and they spike at 15.1-15.2 volts and holding. I guess they battery did not have enough initial charge on it yet to sustain a spark. Thanks for the help guys.

While my Katana might not be German made but Japaneses made. My parts will not cost me an azz-load when something breaks.

Ok, so here is my problem I have a brand new battery for my bike but it won't keep a charge to start the bike had to hook up a jump-box to it today just to get it started. Is their anyway to test for a bad alternator or do I need to but another one. Thanks for the help.

You have no idea, how much of a pain this bike has been so far to fix. Finally some good news has come from all the work. I'm eager to ride it once she completed hopefully next weekend. Looking to hit US-33 when its all done as well.

Thanks Casper, I finally got my spark plugs out yesterday. Went to Suzuki and bought a spark plug kit for the plugs 17mm thin-walled. Started right up once I put the new plugs in. The old ones were full of carbon deposits. I'll post up a video of it running when I get a chance.

Got my bike to actually run tonight in the garage. All I have left to do is adjust the throttle and idle, its running a bit high and my throttle sounds like the bike wants to cut off and fix the rear caliper and put the plastics on. Hope to have this all done by next weekend or so. Anyone up for a maiden voyage ride when I'm done with the Kat?

Where do you find video's like this at.... I'd be pissed if I was in a hurry and stuck listening to their music on the freeway.

OK, So my roommate and I went and took apart the carbs last night found out that the vent tubes were all free and clear so we just hit them with cleaner to make sure. Come to find out we forgot to get the idle jets cleaned did that and found out the the person that had this bike before me fouled up the idle jets on the piece you use to take them out. So one jet we were unable to get out but managed to get it clean by hitting it continuously with carb cleaner. The entire carbs are clean now. I will need to have the jets replaced when I can order some new ones. Went to start the bike again with starter fluid and it gave a roar then died. Tried to crank it without the fluid and nothing. We were thinking that one of the spark plugs fouled up and died. Still have not found the right tool to get then out. I've bought a 14mm-18mm Thin wall spark plug remover and they won't budge. I'm not sure what keeping this bike from starting. It started fine Saturday with the starter fluid but yesterday not so well. I let it sit overnight and I'll try again later when I get off of work any suggestions?

I'll have to take the carbs apart tomorrow and clean out that float vent and see if she starts. Hopefully because I'm itch-in to ride.

Finally today my bike started at last....but only for three seconds with the help of some starter fluid. I seem to have a problem with the fuel getting into the bowls. I've cleaned the bowls and blew out the jets and the fuel lines are ok for what I can tell. Anyone know how I can keep the bike running the choke is open all the way up but will need to be replaced. Also tried to adjust the idle speed with no luck as well. The bike starts fine but just wont stay on longer than three seconds.

Looks like a cool bike considering India is coming out with new vehicles lately.
