This trip is intended to accomplish a few things. Check off some states on our maps, sample the Ozarks, do the entire Natchez Trace, and meet up for the yearly shin dig at fontana. I defiantly want to get back out there in another year or two as part of a greater 2 week trip out west.
-
Yea ive studied some of these maps already when I came up with the route for Sunday and begining of Monday. We aren't hitting everything but I think we will sample a lot of the highlights. Will probably make a trip back out in the future to really study the area.

Seen a ad on FB the other day that a guy was looking for a sport bike any size but it had to be FI so he could put a power commander on it. So let me get this strait he would pass on a 1liter carb bike but take a 300fi bike just do he could put a PC on it??

All this Science is hurting my head.

Sorry you missed out but I would do the same except I tell people ahead of time I won't hold it. Because I've done that before and had the people that said they would buy it, then back out and lost other potential buyers. SO if someone says "I can come this weekend" or "in a couple days" ill say "that's fine but it's still for sale in the mean time". Just part of the CL game.

That was probably the BT021s that came on the C14 stock and were GARBAGE according to most of the original owners. BS discontinued them with the replacmebt 023s and replace the 023s with the T30s and now the T30 Evo is available too. But recently they brought back the 023s which is very confusing.
-
T30 is currently my favorite, next set is 023s only because of price. They were $100 less the the T30s on sale. I'll most likely go back to T30 for the set after that.

Sounds like a well thought out and accurate conclusion to me too. My ass never leaves the seat my shoulders usually stay square with the bike and i probably do lean on the tire to the apex then fucking race bike out. If you see my ass leave the seat or lean into the corner chances are I went in too hot, that's my escape route and i don't use it too often. It's the way I've always ridden and like IP said I really am in my element there. Only other man i know of that rides that way and impresses the fuck out of even me was @bambam. That guy would dive into a corner and body position looked like he was just strolling down the freeway. And you would be behind him thinking "how the fuck did he do that and make it stick?" Folowed him all around the gap the one year when he was on Isabella and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Yea been there done that. Using 2 to 3 sets every year I've tried every A spec, GT spec and touring set up their is. I'm to the point where I'm buying tires on price alone because I know 3k later I'll be doing it again. So far the Stones T30 has given me my best bang for my buck on front and rear I can almost get a second rear gone before the front is too bad. Next set is Stones 023s because got the set for $160 delivered to my door. Looking for even wear now not milage, milage is a mirror illusion on my bike and I'm OK with that. I won't pay premiums for some brands to get slightly better milage so price is my new tire shopping marching orders and price alone.

I can't remember, I had it set it a couple years ago have it all written down at home somewhere.

Bike: about same HP, yours about 100 lbs lighter, and I would bet yours has better suspension than the connies almost 10 year old design. Me: at one time was 100 lbs heavier than you and I pack heavier for trips I'm sure and your riding style is so much different than mine. So it's like comparing apples to onions almost 250 lb weight difference, modern vs antique suspension and Rossi vs evel knievel Kind of like Jim and his White Whale on tractor tyres vs ricky Carmichael on knobbies ;)

Another article that says it's what you want to see. http://www.rattlebars.com/tirewear/index.html Clip from the article... CUPPING: Cupping, which is more accurately described as scalloping (see pictures, but we will use the more common term "cupping" here), is a natural wear pattern on motorcycle tires and it will always follow the tread pattern. It is not a sign that you have bad suspension parts. It merely shows that your tire is indeed gripping the road when you make turns (thank you for that Mr. Tire!). This cupping develops within the side wear bands of a leaned motorcycle. The extreme forces that come in to play when the bike is leaned in a turn are what produce the effect and when the wear becomes sufficient, one will experience vibration and noise when one banks into a turn. Upon examination of the pictures at left of our sample rear Avon, our dusted front VTX Dunlop D256, and the picture of our chalked Dunlop D206 one can see how the cupping follows the tread pattern. The leading edge of the tread does not flex much as it grips the road and the rubber is scuffed off the tire in that area causing a depression. As the tire rotates, the pressure moves to the trailing edge of the tread pattern where the tread flexes more causing less scuffing so less material is ground off the tire. The more complex the tread pattern, the more complex the cupping pattern will be. The softer the compound of the tire, the sooner this cupping will develop. Radial tires are more prone to cupping than are bias ply because the compound of radials is softer. As one can see, the simple tread pattern of the Avon pictured produces a simpler scallop pattern while the more complex VTX D256 Dunlop is somewhat involved, though still easily seen in our photo. Cupping on the Valkyrie Dunlop D206 is very hard to photograph because of the complex tread pattern. Low tire pressure will exacerbate this wear pattern and you will lose many serviceable miles by running low. Improper balance has nothing to do with cupping on a motorcycle tire. Improper balance will merely cause your bike to vibrate within certain specific speed ranges.

Sounds more and more like I'm going to end up just doing a fork oil change and not fuck with what I know works. Still waiting on traxxion dynamics to reply to my inquiry though.

I had the same result from the pr4s also, going back to stones again.

welcome back Mick

Yea I'm one of those guys that checks his pressures ALL THE TIME. Always ballooned up to 42psi. Yea I really don't care if I get 2000 or 6000 miles out of a tire anymore as long as it wears even.

Sounds like a fun trip. Keep in mind it will be hot as fuck down there that time of year and lots of afternoon pop up rain showers with high humidity.
