  1. Like the title says I have a old Tomtom Rider 1. This is the very first motorcycle purpose built GPS unit. These things have their quirks and issue but it does work. I used it as a back up GPS on my connie to my phone for a few years. Comes with a mount that mounts to a tech mount type configuration, a 12volt power cord and a AC adapter. I has its charging quirks while on the mount but ive done some hillbilly rigging to help it and the touch screen is a bit miscalibrated you just have to tap a little above where you want. You can recailbrate but it's a pain. It work for the most part and it's free. Like I said would like someone to get some use out of it not just take because it's free. Don't really want to piss with shipping or dropping off so personal pick up is preferred.

  2. I have this older GoPro Hero(non HD) that's been sitting around in my tool box for a coupe of years. Still works as far as I know. A few mounts that have been used, AV cord, 2 SD cards, a few rechargeable AAA batteries. Bought is used off another member many years ago and I used it very sparingly.

Would like to see it go to home that will appreciate and someone that will benefit from this offer who might not be able to acquire one otherwise, Really don't want someone to come take it just because its free. Would really like to see it get used. Really don't want the hassle of shipping or dropping off. So local pick up i would be preferred.

Im going to try to charge the batteries overnight and check its function.

I think too many parents think it's their job to try to be their kids' best friend.  Being friends is fine, but they'll make friends.  They need parents.

I think my # 1 job as a parent is to raise capable, well adjusted, young adults.  Life lessons, tough love, dealing with disappointment is all part of that.

Bingo. My oldest just moved out so I'm going through a tough one right now. And of course I'm the asshole in the situation because I'm trying to tell her how to do things so she doesn't fail. She'll figure it out I guess. Ive done what I can.

No one wants their kid to get made fun of...but you know what?  Kids need to face disappointment and adversity in increasing levels before they reach adult age and have to face real problems in the real world.  It creates real-life, useful coping skills.

If they don't you tend to get fragile, unsure, young adults that crumble when thing don't go their....well, you get millennials.

Yea one of the tough love lesson i try to pass on to my kids is that "you are nobody special, if you was respect and or notoriety you need to earn it on your own"

Ive been told by others that i'm going to give my kid a complex by telling them that they aren't special. I do tell them they are special to us just not to the world.

Traci Redford said she was boarding a Southwest Airlines flight home to El Paso, Texas, with her 5-year-old daughter when she overheard an airline employee mocking the little girl’s name, Abcde (pronounced ab-city). Now the airline has apologized to the mom and daughter in a public statement.

I totally don't condone any one being made fun of on any level but when parents give their kids these "unique names" do they ever stop to think that at some point in that kids life someone is going to judge them on their name or make fun of it? Especially with these kids now days and all the bullying.

I replaced my old fuel pump with one from high flow. Thanks @2talltim for the suggestion. They did not have a regulator replacement, but pretty much everything else. The old pump may have just needed the filter replaced. $70 still beats the over $300 Honda wants to replace it

No problem.  My hi flow is still going strong.  I think the connie has run better than ever since the change.

beeline all the way to Panama.

Will slow down once in Columbia

Lots of maybes, ifs and buts. But, if you plan on paved roads, and I can manage the time off and the stars align perfectly I'd be honored to join you till at least the border maybe a day beyond. No promises but we will see.

Would be awesome to repeat the ride South with a meetup again, but if the way I feel right now is any indication, I'll be gone by June

You doing another long way down again or making a beeline for the boarder this time?

  9. Think I've said in a previous post it doesn't matter when or where to me. But to guarantee the week off of work I probably need to know by Jan. 1. That's when I need to submit my first choice vacation request.

  10. If you need just a one time thing PM me. I'm surrounded by fields with a natural backstop valley behind me. Farmer that owns it don't care if I shoot across property lines as long as I let him know. But I am a hour north of columbus.

  11. Okay winter time is when i shine. Summer is over vacations are done and time to get back at it. Spending this week detoxing from my last weeks vacation then I'll do a weigh in Sunday morning and make some measurements. No mystery on what I need to do but really want to hit that 219 goal this time. Came up about 4 lbs short last time. Have a spring break trip with the family planned for March that's probably a unrealistic goal time frame but i want to shed as much as i can by then. But end goal will be end of May and at my target weight.

    AND.......GO!!!!

northern ohio ducati wanted $14k for a 2008 ducati monster with 26,000 miles because it had a special color scheme. meanwhile everywhere else in the world they are like $4-5k.

And in CL terms "special color scheme" or "custom paint" usually means wrecked or been painted because of damage

They have a great restaurant...nice seating outside along the water. Bring the bug spray though.

Doesn't matter for me but they are a smoke free facility. So probably wont work for our group.
