Kawasaki changed thier filters a couple years ago. Went to order one and the part number changed. Compared the new to the old and the new one felt thinner and lighter. Looking inside the bypass valve was plastic on the new part number one. On the side the old one said made in Japan the new one said made in Taiwan. And the price went up $.50. So I refuse to buy the Kawi oem filters now.

Yea I've always used the nut to install and remove, BECAUSE my bike has little to no clearance to get your fingers or a filer wrench on the side. Currently have a WIX on my bike (because parts store was out of the KN) and had to dent it to get it on. Hard to explain unless you see it but you cant get any grip on it so the nut is nice.

Wonder if the failures follow a certain model number. Mine takes a 303 I would guess his gixxer takes maybe a 138.

Yes let us know because ive been running these for tens of thousands of miles. Also was this recently installed or was there some mileage on it?

What capacity was the failure? Gasket? Nut weld?

Let's see here I have a beautiful Green Lawn, and I've never put a single chemical on it. I almost never blow it into the street and if I accidentally do I immediately go out with the leaf blower and clean it up. And I keep it mowed at least once a week. Common courtesy and responsibility all wrapped up in one neat little package.

I think it is illegal in most municipalities but not because of safety of motorcyclist its because they get washed into storm drains and clog them.

I used it for a couple years with my Garmin and my phone at first. I just wedged a cut off zip tie in it to make a tight fit
