Guess I didn't realize this.... Cherohala Skyway - The road gets its name from the Nation Forest it climbs through - in NC it's the Nantahala Forest, in TN it's the Cherokee Forest. Combining the two names resulted in "Cherohala". Because the road climbs to and follows along the highest ridges it's a bonafide skyway with views that stretch for 50 miles. Now you know.

Oh yea another thing, if you have the original TPMS in the wheels and the battery dies they can be taken apart and replaced. Not made to be but it is possible. If they have been replaced with the new style already they are now sealed units and can't be done.

Don't use hh sintered brake pads on those stock rotors or they will warp. Keep stock pads or another softer pad like carbons. If youvwant it to stop even better get a set of EBC rotors and the hh sintered pads. They will make a strange wooosh sound but stopping power is off the chart.

Yea they run warm, the 2010 have a different faring to handle the heat better and keep ot away fromvthe rider. The 08 and 09 just have to keep them rolling ..lol If You ever smell oil burn or get a puff of smoke on start ups there is a O ring on the front cam sensor that is a very common leak. Dosnt hurt anything just annoying. I've replaced mine with a slightly thicker one and seems to not leak anymore.

When we say Gap Trip we mean general area. We hit most of the roads you mention every time we go down with a few extras too like Wolf Pen gap, C.Skyway and many others. Last years fall gap trip we stayed in Johnson City, Claton(GA) and Rocky Top. Honestly we will probably run through the Dragon once and be done with it.

Looks like you already have bar risers, cee baily screen, balwin seat(or kawi tour/same seat) and small top case. Need to loose that bazooka of a muffler you will shit when you feel how heavy it is when you take it off. Hope you got a second fob and hope the valves were checked if there is any milage on it.

My Vacation is approved so it looks like these dates of 10/19-10/22 it will be. I'm actually off the whole week so if anyone might wants to leave earlier I may be game for that too. Justin will be on the before mentioned dates so I'm not saying everyone needs to go early if I decided that. We were thinking about finding a hotel in northern WV or Kentucky the evening of 10/18(Wed) for a meet up or we can set up a spot further south for Thursday meet up like we did last year. For the guys that want to trailer down we will probably only stay in the gap area one night maybe two. Thinking about two nights at one hotel just to accommodate the trailer guys and be able to hang with them too. I'll start working on Hotels and routes this week and weekend.

Shit forgot again. Damn kids. Guess no camping for me.

They are my favorites had the same style on 3 different bikes. I just went with the heated oxford grips. Kept these around in case the Oxford's ever crapped out.
