  1. I'll be getting in contact with you later this year to go over what I'm ordering. How much would you charge do the welding/fab work to put the 9" ends on it? I'm not going to hold you to your quote either, I know it's just a quote and you could run into something unexpected.
  2. Any one interested in the rear that's in the truck now? It's a 96 Dakota 8.25 rear, 3.55 gears with a Richmond Loc-rite Locker, complete drum to drum. Was running perfect and held up to a turbo 318.
  3. I'm going with moser axles. Here is what the rear is going to consist of: 1995+ Explorer 8.8 31 spline (95+ so I have disc) Moser 31 spline axles Moser Gears(will decide final ratio when I get everything else set in stone) Detroit Locker 8.8 31 Spline Keeping the c-clips I was just seeing how bad a spool would really be. That's about a $500 difference from going from a spool to a decent locker.
  4. Alright thanks guys, locker it is. I was trying to save a few bucks but you have to pay to play.
  5. No my mind still isn't made up. I know it would be an undesirable ride but I'm more worried about components breaking due to the spool, which you just posted up. That makes me want to go with a locker a little bit more now. Most people posted up how the ride sucks, not breaking any parts.
  6. Yeah, I am going to run crappy regular street tires and over inflate them a little bit so I lose traction easier. Or is this a bad idea?
  7. This is pretty much it, it has manual steering as well. Basically a bare bones truck. I will drive it to work and dinner occasionally. I see why it's not as much fun on the street as a locker but I think I will try it out first to see how bad it really is. I just don't want parts to fail because of it but it seems if I'm responsible with it, I shouldn't have a problem. Plus it's not like I'm out much money.
  8. Thanks, that is what I like to hear.
  9. I know a spool on the street is not recommended but does anyone have experience with one on the street? It will be hard on the rear components for sure, maybe snap an axle. This is by no means a daily driver, more like a weekend warrior. I have been seeing mixed reviews, some guys say it's the dumbest idea ever others are saying they drive it on the street with no problem. By the way, I'm asking this because I decided against the 8 3/4 rear and am getting an Explorer 8.8. The stock rear I have now is 65" and the Explorer 8.8 is about 60" so this is perfect for my application, plus the price is much better and parts are plentiful.
  10. Sweet project! I have a soft spot in my heart for four eyed foxes.
  11. Thanks guys for all the info and finding good deals and offers but I made this thread so I know what to look for later in the year. I still have one more quarter to finish up down in Cincinnati before I can really buy anything. I did talk to my dad, he said, "You can do everything right in a car and make it home safe. You can do everything right on a motorcycle and not ever make it home." He said he's not worried about me on a bike but the drivers in other cars that never look for motorcyclist. I think I can warm him up to the idea, hopefully. I'm surprised at the cost of the SV650's, very reasonable I think. My first bike will definitely be a SV650.
  12. Thanks guys for the advice. I'll check out the SV650.
  13. Ah, I thought there were only two pages of threads and I didn't see anything about starter bikes. If there were many pages of threads like on other forums I visit I would of searched. My b.
  14. Looks like a lot of fun. When summer break starts and I'm not working a Saturday morning, I'll try to make it up there for one of them.
  15. Well, I have always wanted a bike and seeing so many of them out down in Cincinnati has really given me the bug. I still have to talk to the parentals, see what they say about me buying a bike. I have no riding experience, except for messing around on dirt bikes a little when I was a kid. I have looked at the new ninja 250r for a starter bike and really like the price but will I get tired of it too quick? I asked some people down here that have bike on campus and they recommended getting a 600-750 to start out with and take it easy. What do you guys recommend? I am more into the street bikes. Does your body type have anything to do with the bike you pick out? I'm 5' 10" 155 if it does play a factor.
  16. Goodie two shoes checking in...... License Status as of 04/07/2010: VALID ENDORSEMENTS: NONE RESTRICTIONS: NONE ***END OF DRIVER RECORDS***
  17. I'd throw a party in a third-world country. Have them eating and living like kings until the money runs out.
  18. haha Okay bud, no point in arguing on here anyways. Have you seen his truck recently?? I think you should have since you e-stalk like mad.
  19. oh I was going to say, I've never revved at anyone. Well I take that back, my truck was having trouble idling when we were trying to get the tune dialed in so when I was at stoplights or signs, people might think I am revving at them. When in reality, I'm just trying to keep it alive.
  20. Thanks! haha I've never seen your truck around.
  21. Got rid of my specialty plates on my R/T to get these. Just normal sequence now. I don't have a problem with them, they are just license plates haha
  22. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t177/Last_inRRDak/bieber9-500x360.jpg JB for sure. Can the kid even reach the pedals? Yes I'm mad.
  23. Dresden road, kinda north zanesville area. I'm pretty sure I've seen your gto at autozone on maple about a year ago. You pulled out and I saw rear mounts haha
