  1. Okay guys... I am lost here...

I have a 2003 kawasaki vulcan en500 (same motor as the ex500) that has an evil, slow oil leak, right side of motor.

After I ride it enough to get it warm, I get small oil deposits on the right exhaust, right under the mount braket for the foot peg/controls

I have regasketed the right case cover, and the water pump cover, I have checked and rechecked the torque on all cover bolts.

I even went as far as replacing the main oil galley plug, right above and behind the foot peg.

I have checked over and over to make sure I am using the right oil too...

I still manage to get oil on the exhaust...

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

  2. okay... so how about this... I'll see your shenanigans and raise you a truth.

I have true 100% power/network/Air/Controls uptime from day 0 of our current DataCenter, as well 100% uptime on a few (not all) of my servers... and that is with a Microsoft Server OS... much less our Unix system...

The truth of the matter is that there isn't true 100% uptime from a single point standpoint, but that is what n+1 standards cover.... Redundancy at all points.

    Anywho... back on topic...

Casper- I have a little more leg work to do, but I may be contacting you tomorrow....

  3. so, let me guess, CNBC is going to spin this without regard to the operators that handle the guns? I mean, if I am not competent enough to understand that if I change the trigger in such a way, I have to treat the firearm with more care.. should I really be modifying it?

My take... if I am ready to shoot it at all times, and assume it's always loaded, and "risky"...if I treat all firearms with respect, then why would it ever injure someone...

I suppose a self defense situation might appear a little different... but all safe firearm handling rules still apply...

As a kid, growing up around firearms, I always looked for the "cut this part off to make it fire multiple times" mod...

At one point, I had modified a ruger 10/22 with such a light trigger pull, that I could "bump fire" it at insane speed...

you can modify, tweak or change just about anything and make it unsafe.

  4. Okay, so basically, they are rebranding/rebilling a service that some other carrier offers?

Because I highly Doubt that they are running around installing equipment on thousands of cell towers in ohio, much less their entire service territory?

yeah... I'll go for that... right <sarcasm> not when they can't even keep their terrestrial land based services up for a month at a time... (sorry, I've seen the consumer and business grade services offered from timescrewner...no difference, except for a sticker)

  5. Ah yes.. the fun stuff of Virtualization!... SRM, HA, DRS... Unfortunatly... I know your "pain"

At least it sounds like you are working local?

Try working with the Pacific Rim area...Japan/China...tired, trying to make vm's come up half way across the globe, all while trying to understand the person on the other end of the phone... (By the way, if you are working in VMware, SiteRecoveryManager is your Friend for datacenter migrations!)

    Good times!

    No drinky here either....

  6. Yes, MSF course is just one step. I honestly can't believe how much skill and confidence I gained from the course, and I am already looking at the 2'nd course.

I also stepped down to the smaller bike...

I started on a $700 70's Honda CB750 (nightmare... heavy, messed up carbs, mechanics nightmare, etc). I moved from that to a '95 honda magna v45, mostly because "it looked cool" (I was younger then)...

I logged the majority of my beginning miles on the magna... and while it was a good bike, I was still always afraid of corners and turns.

Now that I have taken the course, and am on the vulcan 500, I am focusing on my confidence level in cornering and turning...

On my way to safer and more fun biking...

  7. Hello all...

Fairly new rider here, even though I have ridden a fair bit of mileage.

Just completed the motorcycle safety course, and obtained my full endorsement, after holding a permit off and on for about 4 years. (I just never could get comfortable with my riding skills)

I am currently riding the wife's '03 vulcan 500. She is a new rider, and we moved her down to a Qlink legacy 250 (Chinese scooter-bike).

Hope to enjoy meeting some fellow Ohio riders here.
