  1. Home Depot outside sales reps statistically earn over $50k a year according to the google. Although that was just a quick search result with no particular demographic or experience level included, so I don't know what kind of starting salary that would actually be. Guess it depends on WHAT Travis wants to sell, and which niche of the market he intends to target.
  2. Nice build - and welcome to the forum

  4. No sir, I believe most of Sena's products allow multiple rider connectivity. The 20S is just the most modern and multi-functional unit. @swingset hopefully you get things sorted with yours. I've not had issues like you're having, but the base on mine has recently become quirpy where my left speaker doesn't function without me manipulating the unit on the base. Likely a bad connection, I need to clean the contacts on both to see if that's the culprit
  5. Yup. Wife and I go through this the last few Epic rides. They disconnect until we're back in range, then they repair automatically
  6. Yup. Sena wasn't technically lying about the range, but it's not possible between just 2 riders. Now, you can BT to your phones and stay linked via a call - but in the mountains it would surely still drop out due to lack of signal in some places.
  7. The range was line of sight, and also extended from pairing 8 riders ( I think ). So a total of over a mile between the 1st and 8th rider because of the pairing sequence. That's another issue, if you dont ride in the order you're paired, the pairing will be sparse and problematic. The 1st rider to pair needs to lead, then sequentially to the last rider ( ie, A-B, B-C, C-D, D-E, etc )
  8. Sorry for the delay. Yes sir, Bell Star. It's a noisy bitch, but I love the airflow, it's lightweight ( carbon ), and no significant buffeting at speed. Although I'm leaning towards a modular for my next helmet. Bell Revolver maybe?
  9. I've been known to have a temper from time to time. Years ago, some young guy in a slammed 4cyl S-10 came out of nowhere, passed me in the left berm, cut me off, kicking up all kinds of debris onto my truck, and then blew across the remaining 2 lanes to exit the interstate. Nonsense. There was no other traffic around so why act like a such a cum puddle? Had nothing pressing to do, so I moved over and followed him up the ramp to the next red light. Pulled up next to him, jumped out and tried his passenger side door ( which he had luckily locked ). Peering through his open window I asked if he was going to "settle up or puss out", with a panicked look of sudden diarrhea, he runs the red and took off. I cooled down and went back to the highway. Wife obviously gave me the 3rd degree, but some fucks just need a hard lesson now and then. Ultimately, not giving further chase, I saved his life that day....sometimes it just feels so rewarding to be a good samaritan, saving lives Left lane squatters piss me off too. Sometimes I'll make my way around them, slide over ahead of them, and return the favor by slowing them down ( always in my truck, I dont stick around on my bike - I pass dumbshits when I ride ). That usually gets them out of the left lane, then I take off and resume my day and much happier that I helped someone learn something new....the golden rule and all that.
  10. Wife and I have used our pair of 20S for well over a year, and used them almost daily for months during our 30min commute to work together until she changed jobs elsewhere. Battery life is great on these. Plenty loud, but interstate has me struggling to hear at comfy levels with a Star helmet ( lots of airflow = poor audio ) unless I crank the volume way up. We rode all day long at the Gap, and neither unit ran out of power. We rode in a torrential downpour for a few hours solid on last years Gap trip however, and towards the end mine did get finicky. It would randomly voice prompt itself to do dumbshit, possibly low batt issue but I chalked it up as waterlogged. These pair up easily with SMH10's but haven't tried with anyone else of a different model Sena. 20S is state of the art, and glad we chose them for our first BT comm set. I dont see where anyone could be dissapointed with Sena products
  11. Tracktime taught me that hard braking in a panic is best done upright. As soon as I caught sight of the truck, my bike was up and on the binders before swerving around the truck
  12. Thanks shoop. As the pickup driver drove away from the crash site, I wiped my mind of it and directed my attention to the scene and whatever I could do there. Glad he stuck around and helped out afterall, and thankyou for taking over for him as well. Jen has 1st responder and accident assessment training, so it was instinctual for her to take on that role once she got stopped and saw what had happened. Yes sir, have done this in my truck several times. Usually feel/hear a chirp of the tires, then a whirring sound once the abs pump kicks in. My focus was entirely on where I was wanting to go instead of how the bike felt while I was going there, especially with Chad screeching past me on the right. All worked out, and luckily without further incident from our group as we all got stopped. I agree in needing to test the feel of the ABS as I've never owned a bike equipped before, and obviously plan to do this in a controlled environment vs hoping it works as intended when I demand a need for it.
  13. ABS may have saved my ass on that corner, but didn't feel it kick in. I heard @o-no-moto lock the rear as he split right of me just between the truck and bikes. Again, damn good save Chad. And yes, I was a bit pissed the truck was where it was....should've definitely been around the corner flagging traffic. Had he stuck around, I planned to speak with him since he nearly caused us to pile up as well, but he pulled away as I was walking up so I went right to moving my wife's bike off the road. I'm truly proud of my wife @snot and thankful our group instantly went to work with traffic control, or trying to get a signal for the 911 call, attending to the rider down, and just asking if they could be of help. We did what we could in that situation, and took charge like it was one of our own guys. Just another reason I'm such a fan of the people on OR. This place continues to bring good folk together - thanks again to all
  14. Hope all is good. Waiting room is still too close to being in a hospital for me
  15. That's between you and yours in deciding what's safe, and what's not, for your future child. Inherent danger most anywhere on the roads anyway, but riding is surely less safe than driving a vehicle. Medically speaking though, I don't know of any problems concerning pregnant females riding motorcycles.

Welcome to the forum. Don't believe we met at the ride at any point, but glad to have you aboard
  17. @DUBIE Damn George....you mad bro? Ya'll mean mugged and stanced up to brawl
  18. I got at least 3 or 4 middle fingers, but a few were kind enough to wave. I started out waiving until Tonik flipped me his....then his whole group were the lucky winners of my finger

    RIP Joe

RIP rider. Of course the news report states he struck the turning car, not that the car had swerved in front of him. People just don't look to be sure they can make a turn, they just react when they see a gap in traffic
  20. No worries @NinjaDoc jumping into our group on 669 and leapfrogging through. As soon as you got to us, my wife tipped me off via sena. So I slowed us up a bit so you could work your way past us. Still feel horrible about when you asked me if we were taking 93S, and I said yes, then you took off before it hit me to mention that we just jog down 1/2 mile to Tunnel Hill Rd. Sorry you sat and waited further down 93S for nothing. Was still great seeing you again, and you're photog/vids are always a key element to memorializing these awesome rides. You must be a proud Daddy seeing your idea continue to flourish through Derek year after year. And as always, huge thanks to @DerekClouser for all the prep work. You're an awesome host.
