  8. Cool idea! Here's my current stage rig... --Line6 SpiderValve HD100 - 100w all tube stereo amp with virtual "podfarm" effects built in --Crate Black Voodoo 4x12 cabinet - 300watts of Celestion Vintage 30's inside --Line6 Shortboard midi floor controller -- primary weapon is a seafoam green Ibanez RG770 with a new Seymour Duncan passive neck pickup, V8 passive bridge pickup, and an S7 singlecoil center, LowPro Edge II tremolo and bolt-on Wizard II neck. Dual octave @ 25.5" scale. -- secondary weapon is a silverburst Ibanez RGD420 with basically the same setup except no Duncan pickups, LowPro Edge II tremolo and bolt-on Wizard II neck. Dual octave @ 26.5" extended scale. I use a little Crate GFX15 combo at home for when the mood strikes but typically just pickup my cheap little Fender acoustic for simplicities sake when I want to practice. My father gave me his '68 Yamaha acoustic that he bought in Vietnam and brought back with him. He played with a few guys in the barracks that had Martin guitars and said they were all amazed how well the Yamaha sounded and played. The bad news is he left it strung in the case and stashed it in his attic for 10 years......in Florida! The neck is warped almost an inch from the strings at the hilt, and I can barely play chords at the first few frets. Was told it would cost triple the guitars value to have it repaired so I just keep it for sentimental value. Still own my very first guitar too, 1987 Ibanez RG570 in GrapeIce with the original Edge tremolo and dual octave, 25.5" scale Wizard neck. These guitars spoiled me with their lightning fast necks and makes it difficult to play much else. Always loved the lowslung actions too, make them exceptional instruments for anything technical or speedy - but of course my opinion is biased due to learning on them. Had an '89 Jackson Fusion USA custom that felt very close to the Ibanez's action and thin neck diameter, but in all honesty.....I was scared of it. Didn't want to play it out and fuck it all up since it had actual collector value, although it did get used to play a handful of shows with NDEX - I had to sell it to fund my RGD since I dont like hitting the stage without a backup guitar ( never know when a string will go ), and I truly dont mind slamming on a Japanese guitar that isnt worth near what a USA model is. I have sworn by ErnieBall custom stainless PowerSlinky strings since I started playing out, they hold up to severely punishing performances and dont corrode apart nearly as fast as nickel wound strings. Also, I HAVE to use Dunlop jazz pics.....tiny, sharp little pics for great string attack with far less movement at the wrist and learned to play with these precious little tools I have bought local stores out of stock several times and probably own over 200 of them now......just in case Dunlop quits making them, I will have a lifetime of stock waiting Oh, forgot to mention my hero's and the reasons I play guitar today...this list is GREATLY shortened but the top picks for me. Dimebag Darrell Abbott Alex Skolnick James Murphy Joe Satriani Steve Vai Yngwee Malmsteen Kyle McKnight

  10. This was my first band that a friend and I put together. We were nothing special but absolute road warriors that whored our music out all over the eastern U.S. and signed with Aurora Records in '97. Shared the stage with major death metal acts like Obituary, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Broken Hope, Monstrosity, Vader, Death, Meshuggah, Morbid Angel, Hypocrisy, and tons more. Band split in '99 to pursue other interests. Long since gave up the dream of making a living in the music industry, but still love to write/perform as a hobby.
  11. Phenomenal musicians for sure. I love the energy and talent they spray on stage - a must see for any metalhead

Haven't got their new album yet, but its definitely on the list!
  13. Post up that vid you sent me of it all together and running - impressive work my man, you definitely put in the time and effort. Also if you are home this weekend, I have a like new helmet and goggles for DIRT cheap - think I used them 3 times, and got a complete wash inside and out every time. Seriously, like new
  14. :welcome: and no worries owning a cwooza......going slow still goes somewhere, just not as......fast:D
  15. Yes sir they sure do, my 4.0 gets on avg in the low 20's mpg - its not as hateful as the Tundra I had which would eat a gallon every 16-18 miles. The new gen Tundra can get comparable mileage ( IF you can keep your foot out of it ) vs my Taco - BUT its almost $20k more than I paid for my new DC 4x4 TRD, and parts will send your empty wallet shooting right through your ass for Tundras too. Its all relative, if you can swing $42k on a loaded 4x Tundra, gas mileage isnt an obvious concern. $24k on a loaded Taco is easier to manage financially, and still has decent tow grunt for its size. For decent mileage, good tow capacity, and some payload space......Tacomas, Rangers, and Dakotas would be MY first choices - cant elaborate on the Canyons/Colorados with their I5's and power/capacities but they may be worth a look too. I am a truck guy though, so I'll NEVER recommend a car/wagon to drag loaded trailers - just appears odd to me to see
  16. I'm under the assumption that the fine and friendly OSHP would construe a beer-hat ( complete w/2 UNOPENED cans of brew because don't want any trouble ) and backstrapped shotgun ( including a visible sidearm ) as "protective equipment" and simply let me go my merry way......uninterrupted Dare I? Watch the news for me j/k......have a safe one everybody! Remember to get drunk and take chances
  17. Not sure about the 2.7L I4's but I worked with a guy back in the late 90's that bought an '81 toyota pickup new and when I'd met him it had over 350k on it. Never even had the valvecovers off. had to put 2 clutches in it and typical maintanence items over the course of almost 20 years. It was the trusty old 2.2L ( 22R ) with manual 4speed 2wd shortbed std cab. Ugly little sumbitch but still ran like a top. I had an '86 22R same as above, and it got PUNISHED in my teens. Also had a '90 4x4 w/22RE and it was treated pretty rough too. Both of them took it all in stride and kept on goin'. I'm on my 5th Toyota truck now ( '08 Tacoma ) and love the durability, reliability, power, and comfort - I tried 1 Tundra w/4.7L but it was the 1st year model ( 2000 ) and drank fuel like a fish, so I ended up trading it shortly after fuel hit $4/gal the first time. All we have in our garage are Toyota's and Kawi's
  18. Hoping its not THAT serious and you heal quickly to make the trip - also glad the bike is still solid, other than some rash This is surely NOT what he wants to hear

  20. Don't the big VTX's ( 1800 ) have almost 5gallon tanks? Wonder if it's possible to swap out? would be over a gallon more than your 1300, I can't tell if they share frames but I doubt they do - still may be similar tank mounts though.
  21. I'd assume local bike shops would ( or should ) carry some repacking kits for dirtbike exhausts? May need to buy a couple of them to ensure your silencer gets packed full, but they're relatively inexpensive and would work fine ( at least for a while ) I believe Brocks uses steel packing, but I don't know the details as far as type
  22. Lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer back in 99. Hospice was awesome throughout the ordeal, and I'm thankful for them. He died at 61. Much too young imo, but it happens. He was the smartest man I'll ever know and loved him with all that I am. Sorry to hear this Scott. You're in my thoughts, and if you want to chat please feel free to pm me.
