  1. Very true - I just like the odds better with gear, than without.....especially at highway speeds
  2. Think our new sticker guy is ABDecal - visit his website for free OR stickers ( just pay postage )
  3. :rip: But like pokey said, its a gamble when you choose to ride "skull out"
  4. Chicken tracks are NOT pecker tracks. Pecker tracks are yogurt based
  5. Black shirts dont show stains from hotwing gorging!
  6. Another funny from Richard Cheese......he's like our new-age Weird Al!
  7. Why not just use a small magnetic or strapped tankbag with the clear phone/gps pocket on top? Then when you park it, just take the whole bag with you - just a thought
  8. Doesn't sound like a BAD deal at all pending condition of the TL. I dont know much about them and dont have much V2 experience; but comparably, I've ridden a Superhawk and it is torquey to say the least - nimble for its weight too, probably since its a little narrower c.o.g. so its gonna be more fun to ride than your older Yammie. Can you post up pics of both? Colors can always be easily changed too. Buddy of mine had a blue TL, one sexy bitch and I loved the shade of blue on it. They are hungry for rear tires too:D
  9. ( 1 ) XXL and ( 1 ) Med. please - I voted XXL but my wifey will surely want one too

    I'm Down

Good thing it was a slow scenario, and frame sliders are like steering dampers......you never know when you'll need them until you find out you just needed them. Glad nothings broken and hope you heal quickly
  11. Close to MidO - so if the mortgage dont kill ya, the trackday spending would! I'd love this place but we're a few years from selling ours and cant swing a double mortgage - glws!
  12. I was told ( by a regular dragbike rider ) to do the following on MY bike to help me have fairly good results ( under 10 sec ) strap down the front ( within reason, don't want to bottom out ) and lower the rear about the same ( this is on a stock wheel based machine ) - soften the preload, slow the rebound ( would probably take a few "good" passes to tinker it in correctly ) and drop my rear tire pressure to 15-20lbs ( to begin with ) and run the front tire at normal psi. Clutch work is key along with near perfect shifting. Gearing is played with dependant on your engine rpm when you cross the line ( don't want to be out of pull before and don't want it shifting just before either ) so that's another variable to deal with the more you run it. Use lightweight oils ( 0w or 5w ) to help the engine spool up as quickly as possible. Drop in the least amount of fuel possible to complete the run with the highest octane you can map for. Airfilter in or out is up to you, the gain is small but could play a part if you're trying to break into that next 10th of a second. Lighten the bike as much as possible by stripping whatever is considered ballast, dead weight slows you down but you need good aero so the bodywork stays. A clean and sleek bike is a quicker bike? He said something about waxing the entire front down for just a little less drag. Pull your mirrors! Brock Davidson estimates it takes on avg. 12HP to push a pair of mirrors down the 1/4 mile. I'm sure you wont want to gut your bike and build a strip-only machine, but if you can apply any of the above it "could" better your chances in trimming your timeslips that much more. Hope this helps - btw, did you go run it yet?
  13. Good luck on the bike hunt -- What kind of bike does your hubby ride?
  14. Oh yeah?? So why are you always behind me then?
  15. I'll give him props for entertainment value alone
  16. Even if it's got good compression, probably wouldn't hurt to have that checked anyway. Keep us posted, I'm curious to know whats failed

    "Nice bike"

Sometimes I hear the nice bike comments, but I tend to get "that looks like a beast" or "damn, why so much bike?" I just tell them "Yeah, Kaw did a nice job on it" or "I have a big bike because I exceed weight limits on smaller models"
  18. I was in the group at Eldean bridge too - glad we got another Southwestern OhioRider! Group is growing
  19. Probably both considering Bad's rep around here
