^^ The starter relay is the relay Mike and I are talking about - follow the positive battery cable and you will find it between the battery and starter. Also, like Mike is saying to check voltage at the starter when the start button is thumbed - if it reads 12v at the starter then thats probably your culprit - if you dont get 12v at the starter when the buttons hit, its then probably the relay. Mine failed on my last bike but before I knew that, I'd pulled the starter apart and cleaned the commutator and brushes only to put it back in and still not crank. If you dont have a mutli-meter, pick one up to test circuit continuity / voltage / amperage / etc.......they're cheap at Harbor Freight but a very valuable tool to have. Good luck man!

Nice!! You will notice a difference in how much less lever force is needed to get the bike to stop - will make it much easier to stop harder, but beware......new found stopping power tends to eat brakepads:D

Are the gauges/lamps good and brght when you hit the key? If so, your battery may be fine but could be the relay took a dump

^^ this and check the battery voltage/amperage to make sure its good

and.......get that driveway resealed

Bodyshop for sure, especially since you have the new panel already - good luck, shouldnt cost much ( few hours labor and materials ) and you'll have warranted work for a little while too

Wait, is it cracked at the seam around the riveting? Or from branch or rock strikes?

Bodyshop can fill, prep, paint that front cap- and to help it from happening again, use some clear rockguard decals - ones like you apply to the rocker panels of a truck

^^ Believe he told me the orginal engine was around 30k miles - good bit of it was hard track riding too, so surely that new engine has to make it feel like a completely dfferent machine!
