Thanks for the love folks. Also, just ordered a fender elim. Managed to hold off 2 days before buying parts.. Haha

Bought a Grom this weekend, and I am really happy with my decision. Riding it takes me back to my childhood riding mini bikes and small dirt bikes which is what turned me on to motorcycles in the first place. There is 0 intimidation factor, and its a blast to ride around town. Everyone who got to see the bike this weekend (friends/family) loved it, and when my friends dad (lifelong Harley guy) rode it, he got giddy with excitement and said "I gotta get me one of these!!" My wife even likes it. Moral of the story: If you are considering getting a Grom, just pull the trigger. Honda East in Maumee gave me a really good deal on this one - 2015 Grom in black with 0 miles (up to 30ish today). Now I just need to resist spending thousands on the vast aftermarket that exists for these.

Awesome vid. I definitely underestimated how exhausting track days were until Monday. It was a great experience though, and I will definitely be back
-
Yeah I was skeptical about the fee, and she checked with someone else and they said it's a change from last year and confirmed it.. It's only within 10 days, so you could book early and avoid it, but I waited for a good forecast. As for how full they are, I only asked about Novice, and I actually asked them Monday (didn't ask again today). As on Monday, only 4 or 5 of 30ish novice slots were taken.

Just called to apply my gift certificate to Monday's session. Just a head's up, they said their policy changed for 2016, and now all gift certs applied to track days that are within the 10 day window (including walk ups) are subject to a $20 fee.

Drove by a week or so ago and there were cars there, so I think it's still open.

Yep. That isn't your only option, but if you are only amplifying the sub, that is your best one. Easy rule of thumb is to match the RMS output to the RMS handling of the sub, and match resistance (200 watt RMS sub, 2 Ohms, to single channel 200 watt RMS (@ 2 ohms) to the amp's capabilities.
-
The RCA outputs only provide signal to an extrenal amp. You need to buy an amp to power the sub (unless you have a stock sub/amp you are replacing, which it doesnt sound like you do)

Barley's Smokehouse on 33/Dublin rd is decent and has house brews. Not a bad ride if you have 45 min each way to spare

Impressive service.. Ordered Wednesday, received Friday. Thanks again

Do you guys sell Forcefield Pro L2K Evo back protectors? I need something thin, and would prefer L2 but my suit is tight so let me know what you have. Thanks
-
Thanks guys! That works for me

Does anyone know if the novice class usually fills up quickly? I have a gift certificate and was hoping to avoid rain on my first track day if possible, so I was hoping to walk up for the May 23 session, or register within a week of.

Nice bike. See ya around!

Welcome, I'm in Hilliard as well, and would join in the fun if you head out riding. Got any pics of the S1000RR?

Track gloves. Ideally, something that maintains as much feel in the palms and fingers as little as possible, while providing good protection. XL in most MC gloves. Thanks!

Yep SV rear still. no plans to switch at this point.. What are the advantages to the GSXR wheel? Hall effect sensor and magnets, they're on the left side rotor.
-
Thanks guys. I believe the shock is a 2012.

The all black is always a good look. Nice bike

Quick update, the work is completed. Link to pics. I think it turned out great. We did run into the clip on clearance issue. its 95% resolved, may trim the fairing a bit and get a new clutch cable, but otherwise, works great. Huge improvement over stock. Great work by Hoblick as usual
-
Thanks for the info.. first time I heard that about the clip ons. Wonder if I'll end up going naked after all
-
Yeah I'm still getting used to the power/tq curves, definitely different than the inline 4s I had, and not really as muscular as the HD vtiwns I've ridden.. kind of in between everything, but seems well-rounded. suspension and brakes were horrible.. I had steel likes before, Hoblick is going to try to transfer them, if not, I will get some in the near future. Thanks for the seat recommendation, haven't ridden it more than 30 min at a time yet. The dirt bike bar setup was done really poorly, it's way too thick for the stock controls, so those were zip-tied on. The drill-in riser mount on the GSXR triple is risky (I've heard, anyway), and this will be for spirited riding, so going with GSXR clip ons.
