  1. I agree.. I have a Florida permit as well and I don't recall a time limit on training. I used an old hunter's safety course completion cert.. normally I wouldn't recommend that as proof you know gun safety, but I have a good deal of legitimate training and experience in addition to that, so I took the cheaper route and passed on the CCW classes.
  2. That route looks awesome, wish I still had the bike
  3. From Ford: Brian Cotter, global Mustang communications coordinator, wrote via email, "If you are using this feature in an actual race (ex. at a drag strip vs. your neighbor's Camaro) this would create a problem from a warranty standpoint." Cotter further explained, "[T]here is nothing wrong with testing the capabilities of the Mustang in a non-race environment. You could, for instance, test your quarter-mile time on a closed-course. This would be permissible because you aren't competing against any other car OR against a predetermined time, etc." http://jalopnik.com/use-the-2015-mustangs-burnout-control-to-race-lose-you-1567209420
  4. Has anyone confirmed that it actually will void your warranty just by enabling the line lock? Everything I've seen just says racing it will void the warranty.. and line lock does not = racing
  5. It's a Scion. That's the reason. Thought I saw numbers suggesting the BRZ was outselling the FR-S, and the BRZ is more likely to get a forced induction option.. Price isn't horrible for a good sports car-ish car, but I would have a hard time spending 30k on a car with only 200hp
  6. I believe that was me last year with my almost stock 04 stang. Not sure if I'll make it this year, so someone else needs to step up to the low power plate
  7. Avoided this thread all week until I could finish watching on DVR.. Wow! Great race. Marquez is no joke
  8. I wonder if Toyota and Subaru will go separate ways with the evolution of the cars now.. It seems that way so far.. But I could see Subaru releasing a 268ish HP version in the near future, since they are already producing that engine for 2 other vehicles It would surprise me if Toyota put much over 300hp in its first FI 86.. 400 seems extremely unlikely
  9. http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/watch-aston-martins-race-in-snow--proving-the-miracle-of-winter-tires-145220084.html I've heard this theory plenty of times.. If you fit your RWD car with good snow tires, it's just as good as most FWD and some AWD cars. However, this winter was particularly snowy, and before I go trading my winter beater for new wheels and winter tires, I was hoping a few of you could brag about an RWD daily racecar that didn't get stuck all winter. For some reason I'm still pretty skeptical about the snowiest days..
  10. Short tracks are kind of disastrous, but can be more interesting I suppose. I do actually like the high speeds of the big tracks rather than the constant crashing at Martinsville, Bristol, etc. but I would love to attend a race at Bristol soon. This year, they actually do resemble production cars.. quite a bit actually. But they are nothing close to production cars, so I can kind of see what you mean. It would be pretty cool if they raced factory cars with big (factory option) motors, roll cages, and suspension upgrades.. At least.. I think it would be cool? I actually wonder if it would create big disparities in competition between teams, and it definitely wouldn't sound as good or be as fast as it is today.
  11. This. I think people discredit NASCAR because of how simple it is in theory, when they have no understanding of how much actual racing is going on.
  12. Drastic change in chase format this year.. I think it should make for some interesting racing. Puts a lot of emphasis on winning instead of racing for points. http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2014/1/30/chase-for-the-nascar-sprint-cup-championship-format-changes.html Thoughts?
  13. I think it looks decent.. not great. I agree that it looks too much like every other small foreign sedan out today. I would probably pick an Evo over this, despite big price jump. I wish US manufacturers would offer something in this segment. I like the "lightweight" manual trans awd sport sedans, and the Germans want way too much for them. Americans make them big, heavy, and automatic only.
  14. Looks good enough for me. Very interested in a GT track package and how it performs. TT/voodoo sounds awesome as well, but that one will be out of my budget
  15. Hmm should I bring the 98 Monte Carlo?
  16. The new roundabouts on Emerald Parkway (Dublin side of Britton) cut my commute home down from 35 minutes to 10 minutes. I'd say theyre pretty damn awesome. Plus, much more fun to drive, and less time stopped
  17. How sure are you that it needs to be re-sprayed? Its amazing what some high quality refinishers can do with wet sanding and several compounds
  18. I'll try the 5th gear test. Bleeding the slave? Assuming that's a hydraulic cylinder? No hydraulic clutch on my pos. I did try to readjust the clutch the other day as a possible remedy and couldn't get it to pop.. It has a self adjusting cable you can adjust by pulling the pedal completely forward. The clutch engages in the last 3/4 of the travel, on the top end of it
  19. They don't seem to be worn any more than the fronts. Theyre really really crappy tires though. I will probably be getting new ones in the spring. I'll keep an eye on the issue and hope that its just wheelspin. Thanks for the help!
  20. 04 mustang gt, cable throttle as far as I'm aware. Throttle not sticking or anything. No power adders. No lights flashing on the dash, seems to be running and driving perfectly otherwise. Happening mostly in low gears lately and under low rpms, a/c on, etc. I have serious traction issues in the rain, and it will break loose pretty easily in general. Question is mostly to ask whether the TCS light will flash if a worn clutch is slipping, but I may just be slipping on some loose pavement and overthinking it I suppose.
  21. Hey guys, a couple times recently my car has lost power briefly and then regained it shortly after in the first couple gears. Car has 88k, so thinking I may need new clutch, but here's the kicker: my tcs light flashes. I was under the impression that the tcs light would only flash if wheels were spinning. Are the tires really spinning or could it be the clutch? Thanks
  22. Fell in love the first time I walked in there at 2am as a freshman at OSU. I tried calling them twice yesterday to see if they were open, they weren't. I finally forgot about my Cane's craving and now I see this.
  23. I have an 08 R6S (same bike as 03-05) with low miles I might be willing to part with if you are interested. I'm not really trying to get rid of it though so price point might be a bit higher than you want. Its been a great bike though, its fast, comfortable (relative) , light, fun, and I've never had a mechanical issue with my Yamahas.
