  1. I usually prefer fully faired or not at all, but I'm kind of getting used to it. I'll take half-faired on the highway over naked Thanks!
  2. Hey OR, Kind of fell off of the forum for a while after I sold the R6, so I figured I would jump back in with a new thread. After juggling a few toys around, I finally realized that I was happiest when I had my bike, so I bought another one in October. This is my first Suzuki (and honestly, still kind of miss my Yamahas, but maybe I'll outgrow that), but people seem to like these things, so I figured I would give it a shot. Bike is an 06 SV650S, got a decent deal on it, and it runs well, but has a lot of little issues to work out. The whole front end was a mess, so I bought a GSXR front end, and a ZX14 shock to even out the rear. Along with those came new brake pads, new front tire, grips, etc. Hoblick is putting the Frankenstein assortment of parts together over the next few weeks. My goal is to eventually make this a track machine, but I am keeping it street legal for now, while I get my track legs, and because this is my only bike. If anyone has experience with these and wants to offer some tips, I'm all ears. Might be out of parts money for a while, but I can get a list together for next winter. Looking forward to joining you guys (and gals) on a few rides again soon A couple before pics - I'll post updates as they are complete:
  3. " It will run on gas unless you're racing, then you want to feed it unicorn piss for extra HP" https://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/5480932469.html
  4. Looks good man! Just need to figure out levers and get my top triple bored out and then I will call you up to make sure you can get the SV on your schedule in 2016 haha looks like you have been staying busy with side work! Andon
  5. Okay thanks.. yeah, I wanted to retain the steering lock so I have the 04-05 500/650 top triple, and will need to bore the stem hole. When I ordered it, it was based on this comment from that same thread: 06+ 600/750 top clamps obviously 'fit' their own forks/bottom triple, however the ignition is offset to the left; it requires some machining of the ignitionmodule to avoid interference with the frame on the left side and the steering lock will not function without drilling frame. This makes it less ideal choice.
  6. OP, what year forks did you use? They look kind of like the 06+ 600/750 that I have.. did you have to bore out the steering stem hole on the top triple? Trying to figure out where to take it or whether it's something I can attempt
  7. Need a couple sets of front brake pads for an 06-07 GSX-R 600/750, ideally, something a cut above the basic OEM replacements. Thanks! Andon
  8. This is not the case..least I really hope not, because I've been carrying with an out of state Florida permit for years. It was definitely legal when I got the permit. I try to keep up with legislation, as much as time allows.
  9. I had several feed and eject issues with my LCP. I sent it back to Ruger and has worked reliably since. Those past issues do still cause me to question the reliability of the gun a bit. That being said, I continue to carry it because I find that no matter how much more confident I am in my G19, I just do not end up carrying it because its heavy and more difficult to conceal. As I've heard multiple times, the best gun to carry is the one you will actually have on you when/if the need arises. The LCP is SO easy to carry that there is no excuse to leave it behind (unless I'm going somewhere I can't have it). basketball shorts, sweatpants, jeans, slacks. Easy to conceal no matter what you wear.
  10. Thanks guys! Got one. Next question: Mine came with a gift certificate (and GC#), but no "barcode" per se. I assume the GC# acts as the barcode?
  11. Can someone send a link? The site isn't letting me purchase anything right now.
  12. I got one of them, great deal, hopefully it fits since I am between sizes and I know the XL wont last either haha
  13. Bought from D Kilbourne and sold the car before I could install it. $180. It's in great shape, check his recent thread for pics if you want. Thanks Andon
  14. Great shape, I bought it for my stang and sold it before I installed it. $200. I can post a pic when I get home.
  15. Definitely hoping to hear good reviews, considering one for my next purchase. I have a full size truck now, and most of the time, the size is more annoying than it is useful.
  16. Bill took my car without an appointment, got it diagnosed quickly, and got it repaired quickly. What really impressed me, though, was that he did not recommend services I didn't really need, and did not recommend high dollar replacement parts when a few welds would do the trick. He even took me around the shop after closing time to show me a few cool projects. It's nice knowing that honest mechanics who are passionate about cars and trucks still exist. I would definitely recommend Dozzer's Garage to friends. Thanks again Bill! Andon
  17. Thanks! And thank you sir. Gives me even more appreciation for the condition knowing its older than I am.
  18. Haha that would make me the other. And thanks. Definitely one of the coolest gifts I've been given in my lifetime
  19. The letter option is cool, and I will probably do this, but it costs $50 so I might hold off. Do you know if they will provide that info for free over the phone? I may try to call when I get home and can get the full serial. Thanks It was a gift, so I didn't really get to pick. Really, what I wanted was a large frame revolver, and 357 seems to be adequate, but I do go into the wilderness for hunt/fish/camp activities, where I would like something that would work as bear protection, and 357 doesn't quite cut it. 41 mag was designed to be a good compromise between the two calibers, it just never got popular, so ammo is more expensive than I would like it to be. Haven't shot it yet, and haven't shot a 44 mag either, so I can't give you an honest answer as to which is better. I can compare and report back though
  20. Hey CR, Got a new toy recently, was wondering if anyone could tell me a little more about it. It's a model 57 (41 mag), seems to be in good condition, but it's used so I wanted to at least be able to date it (within 5 years or better). Can anyone help with this, or provide some info that I probably don't know about this model? This is my first revolver, but not my first firearm. Serial begins with N670. Sorry for the grainy ipad pic, I may be able to take a better one if anyone cares enough. Thanks! 21. What are you looking to spend? I have a pretty pristine 04 GT that needs engine and maybe also trans repairs that I can't afford right now, so I would entertain the idea of letting it go if I got a reasonable offer. PM me. Thanks
  22. Last time I was at IPS they had a bunch of Corbeau seats out that you could sit in, not sure if CR1s were out. I'm 6'1, 230, fairly broad, and found the regulars to be a bit narrow and the wides were a bit too wide .. Still in search of the Goldilocks seats
  23. Trade for clean 5 speed 04 Mustang GT premium, 93k miles, with some sort of intake manifold/head gasket leak that I haven't been able to get diagnosed yet?
  24. I don't have any two-wheeled toys right now but I would still be interested in coming out for some suspension education and moto talk. Haven't been out to your new place yet
  25. I agree with the paint comment.. I have been guilty of snow comets in the past too.. however, this big rubber bladed snow pusher thing looks like it might be a good investment.. where can I get one?
