  1. Actually we tried a 20, she had a hard time with the recoil. So we started her on a .410 that she could accurately shoot to 50 yds.
  2. Nope, it's about taking what you can accurately shoot and take a deer ethnically. Know your range, the appropriate range for the firearm/bow and make a clean kill. So my grandfather or nephew shouldn't hunt because they can't shoulder a 12g? Your grandma should CCW 380 because it would cleanly kill a robber. Stupid logic. A 38 spl will kill a deer properly within proper ranges. PERIOD. It is upon the hunter to know those ranges. And that's why we don't get to hunt with rifle calibers, idiots don't know ranges and what's beyond.....
  3. As I said in my reply to Gump, I'll make my GF take my 12g next time, even though she can't accurately aim or handle the gun. The extra kinetic force should make up for the bad shot.....
  4. Ah, so my GF, a first time hunter weighing in at 100 lbs wet should man up and shoot a 12g or .500 Got ya..... that's a real sportsman.....
  5. I've actually heard more complaints about the early muzzleloader they introduced last year than I had for this.
  6. And as for the graph, I think it shows well for the LEGAL rounds to hunt deer in Ohio. Toss the 380 off completely and it's a good graph.
  7. How is 30-06 the Gold Standard when it isn't even legal in this state? You can say what you want, but if a pistol caliber can kill a human, it can kill a deer. You're acting like a deer is a huge moose or bear. What's a average whitetail weight in at? 200 lbs? Human? I'm 185lbs. Chest cavity to the vitals? Foot to a foot and a half across for both? But yet you act like a deer is built of solid concrete. I completely agree with shot placement and ethical kills. That's the name of the game with bow hunting. That doesn't mean that 38 spl won't get the job done. I shoot to put meat in my freezer, I'm not hunting for a rack. Hell, with crop damage permits I'm not even aloud to shoot bucks.
  8. If I didn't have to work, I could bring my GF .410 and my buddies 9mm carbine and they can tell us which hurts more. LOL
  9. 1) Do you see 30-06 on the graph? 2) I don't see 30-06 in the list of usable rounds to hunt (edit: deer) with in Ohio. If you can't lawfully hunt with it, kinda pointless to talk about it.
  10. You can say it's not ethical all you want, it works very effectively. As I stated before, Indiana has done it for YEARS with no ill effect. And once again, WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO USE PISTOL CALIBERS IN PISTOLS, now those same rounds out of a rifle somehow lose their effective power. Why now is it wrong and unethical?
  11. So why has it worked for years in Indiana? Why do they let you use pistols at all for all these years? As long as you have a pistol with a 5 inch barrel and .357 or larger, you could use it before, so what makes those same rounds out of a rifle all the sudden not capible?
  12. I engage deer at low yardage all the time, it's called bow hunting...... Once again, please tell me why a pistol caliber won't kill a deer.....
  13. The reasoning behind it is to allow more hunters the ability to hunt. It always blows my mind to hear people complaining about "knockdown power". I hunt with crop damage permits yearly and can shoot with anything I want, even at night. I've blasted deer at 200 yds with my 223 and it never took another step. Indiana has been doing pistol calibers for years. Let me ask you this - you would trust 9mm, 40s&w, or 45 ACP with your life in a CCW event, why now all the sudden will that same kind of round not kill a deer?
  14. I sport tour my SV 2up. Heading to Chattanooga the end of May.
  15. Why do we train soldiers for battle, but not let them carry on base? You're not gonna get far when every other trained soldier is carrying too.
  16. I didn't realize you quoted me til now. Oops! Changing the tooth count on the FRONT sprocket makes for a much larger overall change. Its usually said that one tooth change on the front is equal to about 3 on the rear sprocket. So -1 up front = +3 in the rear and vise versa. Plus putting on a smaller sprocket up front adds to chain wear as it has to make a much smaller radius around sprocket. Bigger sprocket in the rear may adds more links there for a little less wear, although this is prolly not noticable. Some good info on chain and sprocket kits- https://www.motomummy.com/Basic_Chain_Kit_info.html
  17. Well then you would be sorely mistaken..... My 1000 will give that 1200 a run on low end.
  18. Actually made quite the difference on my bike. Gained acceleration, and picked up 5 mph on top end. If your an acceleration junkie, why wouldn't you see the point in a +2 rear with no detrimental effects? How does a +2 kit cost more than a stock kit? I just bought a Driven Steel Sprocket Kit with EK MVXZ chain for $165. I could order from a 14 -17 tooth front and 42 - 50 tooth rear for all the same price.
  19. +2 on the rear of my SV. Better acceleration and now can redline in 6th.
  20. It snowed up here. FML.... WHEN WILL IT END?!?!?!?
  21. I'm not worried about it updating too much. I'm too far away to do much. My hidden corner of Ohio doesn't see much action.
  22. Dude, I literally clicked Casper's link, opened the download and the phone automatically imported the dates. That's on my S4.
