  1. Yeah I actually just started listening to Steel Panther a couple months ago. I can't help but die laughing at those lyrics every time I hear them!
  2. I was right in front of the main stage, just a few rows of people back and I thought everyone on that stage sounded great. Well, except Puddle of Mudd since his voice kept cracking, lol. I tell you who I thought rocked the FYE stage - Trapt. I thought they did a hell of a job and the did sound amazing.
  3. ^ Very interesting to hear that. "You will learn more about riding in 1 day at the track than 2 years on the street." That's exactly what I want. I started out with an R6 about 4 years ago but only did about 2 years of riding. I had to sell that bike because that Yamaha financing really screwed me when the 2 year promotion was up. So, it's been a couple years since I've ridden anything and I just had to go get my dream bike. But now that I paid cash for my bike, she's not going anywhere. I do have a few buddies that I ride with but no one is truly experienced and can't really give me any pointers. So, maybe a track day or 2 would be beneficial.
  4. Yeah, this thread is in my subscription list. I think I figured it out though - I changed the setting after I was subscribed to this thread. I'm subscribed to another thread and I am actually getting instant e-mail notification on that one so maybe the changes took effect now, instead of on this thread. I think I'm good now. Thanks!
  5. Awwwww come on now. My Dad (who is 65 years old) went with me the first 2 years! I guess if it's too loud, you're too old! Haha, just kidding... But seriously, it's fun every year. Don't ever let the rock n' roll inside of you ever die!
  6. Hence why I get field tickets. Sure you have to deal with some pushing and shoving but there's nothing like being right in front feeling that music. I'll never sit in the stands again as long as field tickets will be available. I thought the sound on the FYE stage sucked with Pop Evil and Hollywood Undead. And yes, the price of beer has been that way for at least the past couple years. Ridiculous, huh? I guess that's why we're seeing more and more tailgaters and more and more people drunk at 1 in the afternoon, They better have a better lineup next year. APC definitely shouldn't have headlined. After paying for parking, weekend field tickets, beer, food, etc - that was easily a $350 weekend just for myself. Ouch.
  7. How was that on Friday, by the way? I didn't go because I figured 2 solid days of drinking was going to be enough...kinda wished I would have gone since Steel Panther was there. I actually thought Staind and Korn did pretty well. I don't remember him walking off but I was kinda buzzed, haha.
  8. Thanks everyone, much appreciated! I can't figure this out though - I can't get an e-mail when someone replies to a thread I'm subscribed to. I went into the options and chose "instant e-mail notification" for my threads but it still won't notify me. And yes, I made sure it's the correct e-mail address. Any ideas?
  9. I went. I had field access for both days. Another great year. I've been to ROTR ever since it started. Sure, it's expensive, but it's a hell of a time. I was thinking about taking the bike down that way but 10-12 hours of my bike sitting in a parking lot scares the crap out of me. Besides, who wants to be on a bike after 10+ hours of standing and then fighting that traffic. Clutch in...clutch out...clutch in...clutch out, lol...a good half hour of that crap wouldn't be much fun.
  10. More power to ya buddy. I'm not into racing and I don't think I'm a hard ass just because I have a 1,000. I just like to ride. Eventually when I get used to this bike, I am thinking about doing track at some point. Maybe within the next year or 2. But until then, I'll enjoy my joy rides and weekend rides down in Nelsonville, Athens, or wherever those twisty roads are.
  11. Thanks fellas! I like the color scheme as well - I'm not really into customizing the paint so I think I'm going to leave it like it is. I'm more than happy with her!
  12. Hey all! Just bought my 2nd bike back in December and she's a dream come true. And yes, hence the screen name. She's a 2007 with 2,500 miles and absolutely gorgeous. I thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully meet more and more riders. I'm typically up at bike night on Wednesday's at Quaker Steak and Lube but I am ALWAYS up to ride. As long as it's not pouring down rain or snowing like crazy outside, I'll ride. Hopefully I'll meet you guys at some point! Thanks! Andy
