  1. Weak OEM headlights can be annoying at best and downright dangerous at worst. If you’ve ever been in a riding situation at night and wished you had more light, it’s time to look at upgrading your OEM headlights with a High Intensity Discharge light kit from BikeMaster. These HID lighting kits provide up to three times the light as that of a halogen bulb and ten times that of a regular incandescent bulb. Not only will you be able to see further down the road, but there will be more detail in it too. Every BikeMaster H.I.D. kit comes complete with a fused wiring harness, Xenon bulb, compact ballast and relay. Just wire it all in and you’ll have a much better view of the road! BikeMaster H.I.D. Light Kits are available to fit the following OEM light bulb mounts: 6000k H4HL 8000k H4HL 6000k H7 8000k H7 6000k H9 8000k H9 6000k H11 8000k H11 6000k H13HL 8000k H13HL 6000k 9005 8000k 9005 6000k bulbs produce a white color while 8000k bulbs deliver a blue tint to your view of the road ahead. And of course, replacement bulbs are available for all kits. If your bike is equipped with multiple headlights, you’ll need to order additional kits for your application. For more information, call Mike at 866.931.6644 x 804 or send a note to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with BIKEMASTER HID KIT in the subject line and please be sure to specify the color and style of the kit you want and we’ll get back to you right away. The complete kit comes with all the HID components required for installation. High-quality automotive-style waterproof connectors are used throughout. A wide variety of bulbs are available to fit the OEM bulb socket for most late-model motorcycles. The BikeMaster HID kit’s ballast is small, making installation a little less tricky. Simple instructions are also included with each kit and, should you have any questions at all, BikeMaster’s technical support is excellent. Enough wire is included to install the system all the way back to the battery, or if your bike uses a headlight relay, simply wire up to that, run the wires and place the bulb in the OEM socket for a much better view of the road ahead.
  2. Retail $999.95 Sale price $499.95 Made with a 1.2-1.4mm leather chassis that’s perforated from the neck down to the knees on the front, with additional ventilation on the back and sides, the Charger one-piece leather suit is ready for duty, and it’s suitable for duty even in the hottest of climates. To stand up to the wear and tear that comes with riding fast, Alpinestars tech employs an advanced multiple-stitch suit construction that’s designed to stay together in a sliding situation. Not only are seams tacked together with more than a single run of thread, but the stitching is also arranged in a way to protect it from exposure to the road in the event of a crash. This difficult construction method adds a significant degree of abrasion resistance to the suit. Furthermore, Alpinestars’ best CE-certified GP armor is used in the knees, elbows and shoulders to attenuate impact forces should your riding get a little too out of control. There’s also a pair of PE-padding inserts in the chest compartment which can be easily upgraded with Alpinestars Bionic chest armor for additional impact protection. Looking after rider comfort (aside from the extensive perforations), a removable mesh liner is used on the inside to make getting into and out of the suit a snap. This liner separates skin from the leather, which also makes it easer for the wearer to move around on the bike. This, combined with strategically-placed stretch accordion leather and Kevlar panels, further enhance rider agility. And to avoid chaffing, soft neoprene surrounds are sewn on the cuffs and collar where the leather would otherwise come into contact with your skin. You can read more about the Alpinestars Charger Suit on our website, then call Mike at 866.931.6644 ext 804 for expert sizing guidance and fast shipping. For email questions, send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with ALPINESTARS CHARGER SUIT in the subject line (be sure to include the size/color you want) and we’ll respond to you promptly. The Charger Suit in black. Alpinestars Charger one-piece leather suit in blue/white. Perforated leather can be found everywhere on the chest. The thighs too, have die-cut perforations all over the forward-facing and inner areas. Leather stretch panels like the one shown here behind the shoulder are also found just above the knees and at the lower back. These, along with the stretch Kevlar inserts located on the inside and back of the legs as well as the inner arms, not only permit a great fit, but also allow free movement without compromising safety. 4. I appreciate what you are saying and agree everyone should wear a full boot. However, not everyone wants to wear tall boots all of the time. This boot is certainly better than a tennis shoe, flip flops or other non-supportive shoe/hightops. If interested in many of the other race boots we have done reviews on there are links below. http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=78967&highlight=boots http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=83669&highlight=boots
  5. Be it weekends roaming the better roads or your slog to work in the morning, if you’re looking for riding boots that need to do a lot of things, check out the S-MX 1 from Alpinestars. Fabricated with a combination of lightweight microfibers and armored in the right places, you get comfort and protection without your feet screaming “look at me!” too loudly. And although they’re referred to as boots, they’re more like high-top shoes for the road. The aforementioned armor can be found in the form hard plastic protectors around the heels and foam-backed malleolus protectors on the lateral sides of the upper portions. Perforations exist on the sides and front of each boot, which, when combined with the 3D mesh inner liner, help your feet breathe. A racing-inspired outsole has its innards topped by an EVA foam footbed that’s profiled with a gentle arch in it so the foot stays planted. Plus, the inner line/footbed combination will quickly mold itself to your foot after a short time. The boots are, after all, comfort-made and purposefully protective. Available in either black or white/black in US sizes 5 to 14, you can read more about the S-MX 1 boots on our website or, just call Mike at 866.931.6644 x 804 to order. If email is your preferred means of communication, just send a note to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with ALPINESTARS S-MX1 BOOTS in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away. Two colors are available, but remember, because they’re brand new, supply may be a little short … … solid black … … and a white/black variant. A large thermoplastic polyurethane pad covers the top of the toes where a shift lever is most likely to make contact with the wearer’s foot. The heel of the foot, which almost always gets whacked against the ground in a crash, is surrounded by hard armor. No laces here. A zipper on the medial side of the boot opens it up wide and the hook-and-loop closure over the top of the foot allows you to get just the right squeeze from the boot, no matter how thick your socks are. Can you corner low? Alpinestars replaceable toe sliders have you covered! Get ‘em in black, white, blue, red or, for throwing sparks - magnesium. Grip, feel and longevity are always important factors in the construction of any Alpinestars footwear product. We’re confident S-MX 1 boots will last you a long, long time.
  6. I do not have of the Roam but Gizmodo did a nice right up recently on the newly released Contour Plus model. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2011/08/death-match-contour-and-gopro-cameras-compared/ The Roam and the Plus model use the same six element lens.
  7. From trackdays on up, you’ll find Chicken Hawk tire warmers to be a familiar site, silently conditioning a motorcycle’s tires for maximum performance before the rider heads out on track. Some examples: Team RidersDiscount.com - Season after season, we’re continually impressed with the durability and reliability of our Chicken Hawk tire warmers.
  8. PM's on the way. They do make a Picatinny Mount, according to Contour it will fit tactical weapon platforms or other devices that use a standard MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny/Weaver rail.
  9. If you’re doing trackdays or racing without tire warmers, you’re losing out not only in the first few laps, but also on tire wear and ultimately – your wallet. Be it reduced tire life or a wrecked bike, you’re going to pay for it somehow. It is for these reasons that everyone in the RidersDiscount fortress has been using Chicken Hawk tire warmers since long before they got there; we have sets that are almost ten years old that still work. So long as they’re not left plugged in when they’re off the bike too long and stored correctly, CHR warmers can be expected to last a long time. Consider this a small investment when compared to the life of service the warmers have proven to provide. We cannot overstate Dave & Co’s (the people at Chicken Hawk) outstanding customer service either; burns, ripped cords and other damage that sometimes occurs in our mishandling of the warmers has always been repaired at reasonable rates with no hassle and always in a time-conscious manner. Lessons learned over time at the track have been implemented in the latest design tire warmers. For example, a set of Pro-Line warmers purchased three years ago don’t employ the exact same construction materials that the sets manufactured today have. This evolutionary production is done in the name of safety, reliability and performance. Chicken Hawk motorcycle tire warmers are available in three styles for your specific needs. All models feature Nomex insulation, melt-proof liners, self-regulating temperature controllers, and high-quality construction throughout. All Chicken Hawk warmers are made in the USA. These are not yet on our website, so you’ll have to call Mike at 866.931.6644 ext 804 to get a set of these tire warmers shipped your way. You can also email him – FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with the subject line CHR WARMERS and be sure to include which model you’re interested in. Standard Model comes preset to heat tires to 175˚F for simple plug-in operation. Indicator lights let you know when your tires have been fully heated. Included with the pair of warmers is a durable carrying bag. Pole Position tire warmers have a user selectable three-temperature setting of 130˚F, 155˚F & 175˚F that is adjustable with the flip of a switch. With these it is possible to set temperature closer to the tire manufacturer’s recommendations and track conditions. Warmers come in a protective hard plastic carrying case. Digital Pro-Line tire warmers give the user degree-perfect temperature control making it possible to take into account the bike’s needs as well as that of a particular tire brand. With individual controllers for both front and rear tires, the user can not only set tire temperature up to 212˚F but also monitor actual tire temperature as well. This kit includes front and rear tire warmers, two separate hard cases: one for the warmers, the other for temperature control units and also a Pit Bull digital controller stand so you can easily check tire temps from across the pit.
  10. If the battery won't take a charge anymore you would contact Contour's customer support to assist you further. This will work with a max of 32GB.
  11. Anywhere, anytime – just slide the record switch forward and the ContourRoam powers up and starts recording video in any of six HD formats or starts snapping high-resolution photos over fixed intervals. That’s right, no tiny power button or trap doors to fettle with! We suspect that, somewhere, there are monkeys that are experts at it already. And with the built-in laser alignment tool, you can be sure you’ll get the shot you want without the worry of missing any action. The six element lens recording system is housed in a chassis that’s waterproof down to one meter so motorsports, let alone snow sports or kayaking activities - require no extra protective casings for this Contour HD camera. Even better, should you need to film your submersible water activities, a separate waterproof case is available for recording your work down to 180 feet below the surface. Of the current Contour HD cameras, the ContourRoam is the largest, yet it’s also the lightest. It also features a built-in battery with an expected life of up to three hours recording – the longest of all Contour cameras. You don’t need to buy a separate tripod mount either, as the Roam has a built in ¼” – 20 threaded insert right on its bottom. Offloading your work to the Contour Storyteller application is easy too. You can use the included USB cable to xfer your work, or plug the MicroSD card (sold separately) into the appropriate adaptor and start editing right away. The ContourRoam is the least expensive Contour HD camera, but as you can see, it doesn’t skimp on features! For more information, call Mike at 866.931.6644 x 804 or send a note to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with CONTOURROAM in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away. Simply charge it up, add your own MicroSD card (sold separately) and you’re ready to go! Everything you see here is included with the ContourRoam kit. A forward-facing, multi-directional microphone is integrated into the front of the camera’s chassis, just below the lens housing. Because it’s specifically designed for this application, you’ll get a good soundtrack to go along with your video. The red light emanating form the lens housing comes from the Roam’s built-in leveling laser. It shines a bright line indicating the camera’s orientation so, you don’t have to mount the camera perfectly horizontal. Simply rotate the lens until the laser’s line reaches the orientation you want and you’ll have an upright shot on the first take. In addition to the two mounts included with the Roam camera, a massive array of additional application-specific Contour mounts are available to suit all your needs. From roll cages to wrist straps and handlebars, Contour has you covered! One switch does it all – simply move it forward to start recording. Indicator lights let you know the Contour Roam’s status in a pretty universal language: green = good, red = bad. Here, battery status is good, MicroSD, not so good. A combination of brushed aluminum and hard plastics provide a rugged format from which to film all of your adventures. With a single switch to start recording, there’s virtually nothing to stop you from recording all the action!
  12. From AMA Pro racing to WSBK and beyond – pro riders love their Shoei X-Twelve helmets.
  13. Fall weather provides a nice environment for riding; the cooler air seems to produce better engine power and you can wear all of your riding gear comfortably too – but there is one drawback, sometimes, your Arai’s visor can become stubbornly foggy. If you’re wearing an Arai Corsair-V or an Arai RX-Q, we have the solution for you – the SAI Dual Pane Faceshield from Arai. The most effective way to prevent fogging on your Arai Corsair-V or RX-Q helmet’s faceshield is with the installation of this Arai Dual Pane SAI visor. Fog free vision is provided by the addition of a layer of insulating air within an airtight chamber between the outer, 4mm impact resistant visor and an insert on the inner-side. This airtight chamber is manifested via a seal that runs the circumference of the factory-made insert. And, because this additional pane is extended around the circumference of the helmet’s eyeport gasket, vision is left totally unobstructed for the rider. Save for the tear-off posts on either edge, the rider will not see anything to hint of the added fog protection. To order, call Mike at 866.931.6644 x 804 or send a note to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with ARAI SAI DUAL PANE SHIELD in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away. No special treatments required, simply swap out your Arai’s original visor and put this in its place. Water on the inside of the visor can not only obscure your view of the road ahead, but it can also become a dangerous distraction. Arai has addressed this issue with the addition of a full-length wiper on the top of the SAI Dual Pane faceshield. This shunts rainfall around to the sides of the helmet. To further preventing water intrusion, eyebrow intake vents have also been deleted. This also negates the need to reduce the circumference of the airtight gasket that holds the inner pane in position for the biggest, most undistracted view possible. Normal operation of the helmet is not inhibited by the Arai SAI Dual Pane visor. For racers, tear-off posts are fitted as standard.
  14. The rLiNK motorcycle security system from Scorpio is the most advanced and user-friendly system we’ve seen to date yet it’s simple enough for anyone with a basic understanding of motorcycle maintenance to install. Scorpio has been in the business of building motorcycle alarms for quite some time but this system in particular is unique because it offers you the ability to observe your bike’s movements from ANY computer with internet access thanks to a GPS receiver/transmitter that’s installed on the bike. But it’s more than just an alarm system, the device also allows you to keep track of where you’ve ridden through interactive maps (which can be automatically uploaded to Facebook and Twitter if you wish) which gives you segment times, provides a virtual odometer, top speed and much more! It even includes a rider down notification system that will alert a pre-designated emergency contact under certain “rolling accident” conditions when you’re in trouble. All of these features can be accessed and controlled either with a compatible mobile phone or by using the rLiNK website. GPS theft tracking is free for the first year upon activation ($59.95 through rLiNK’s website). You must purchase a monthly subscription to use all of the other GPS services for a mere $9.95/month. Still, when you think about, that’s a small price to pay when compared to the deductible on most insurance plans, let alone the additional features mentioned above. Once you’ve installed the Scorpio rLiNK on your bike, the system works using RFID technology to automatically arm/disarm the alarm system based upon the presence of the included key fob. You can also control the alarm manually with the push of a button like a conventional car alarm. When armed, if anyone bumps, moves or starts the bike, the system will automatically send you an SMS and email alert at which point you can go to a computer (or smart phone) and see exactly where your bike is and decide what to do from there. Optional accessories include a perimeter sensor that alerts you when someone gets near the bike. Perimeter sensitivity is adjustable based upon your needs. There’s also a 120db “smart siren” which can be programmed to act in different ways depending on what’s going on around the bike. For example, you can set it to chirp if someone gets near as a warning. The siren also has its own battery backup. Finally, you can add an ignition disable kit which will not allow the bike to start when the system is armed. In the event your bike is actually stolen, it is possible to send law enforcement access to a special emergency account so that they may also track the location of your bike. Even in an actual theft event, should the battery be disconnected, the rLiNK’s own battery backup system will store over 1,000 position reports on its own flash memory and transmit them automatically to your account. The rLiNK system comes with a universal fit installation guide that works with any bike that has a battery and an ignition switch. We also have an optional OEM adaptor harness which allows true plug and play installation available for most late-model motorcycles. This system works ONLY in Canada and the USA. While we’ve yet to add Scorpio rLiNK products to our website, you can call Mike at 866.931.6644 ext 804 to order this system today. Shipping in the contiguous 48 states is always free and if you have any questions, you can send an email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with RLINK in the subject line along with the bike you ride and the extra equipment you want (siren, perimeter sensor and/or ignition disable) and we’ll get back to you right away. The heart of the rLiNK system. From top clockwise: main control unit with GPS receiver, RFID module and remote transceiver key fob. Unless you’re using the manual arm/disarm function, you can keep the remote in the pocket of your favorite motorcycle jacket for hands free operation. A model-specific wiring harness is available for most late-model motorcycles. While it’s not required, this makes installation a snap. Optional perimeter sensor is small and lightweight. Scorpio recommends that it be installed under the seat the seat of most applications. Here you can see the entire basic Scorpio rLiNK alarm system with all the included accessory harnesses. This system will work not only on your motorcycle, but ATVs, snowmobiles and personal watercraft can also take advantage of this system with the universal installation adaptor seen in the lower left corner of this picture. This shot gives you an idea of the home screen interface provided by rLiNK after activation. With this system you can look at your previous rides over the last year, control account settings and keep a close eye on your bike even when you’re on the other side of the planet. A really cool feature allows you to setup a geofence anywhere which will send you an email/SMS alert when the bike enters or exits any area you designate. The iPhone interface is simple to use as well and allows access to just about every feature that you have on the desktop computer interface.
  15. A big advantage we found when using Ballistic batteries is that it's much easier to install aftermarket tuning devices, like a Power Commander, in the space left over when the OEM battery is out of the equation. Take this BMW's battery tray, for example. All the space you see around used to be taken up by the heavy lead-acid unit!
  16. With an integrated CE-certified back protector, plenty of storage capacity and an external helmet carrier, Alpinestars brands the Protection Pack with “Swiss Army Knife backpack functionality.” And we tend to agree! Inside the 18.5” tall, 11” long and 5” deep bag, we found a myriad of organizer compartments plus two more external pockets, which should make getting at your goods quick and easy. Holding it all together is a combination of 840D ballistic nylon and 420D honeycomb nylon that, along with the gasketed self-locking zippers, resists water intrusion and imparts a semi-rigid feel to the backpack. Most noticeable at the lower sides of the bag are a pair of side impact plates at the waist that for side-impact protection. Considering the fact that there’s also an armored back protector specifically developed to fit inside this bag, for the safety conscious street rider, this bag is worth a close look. For more information, check out the Protection Pack on our website or call Mike at 866.931.6644 x 804. You can also email us, send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with ALPINESTARS PROTECTION BACKPACK in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away. The Alpinestars Protection Pack. It’s called the Protection Pack because of this little number seen protruding from the rider-facing side of the bag, which, is basically a re-engineered Alpinestars Bionic Race back protector. It’s also removable, should you care to use it with any of your other riding gear. Inside the bag, a variety of organizer pockets help you find what you need fast. A separate laptop sleeve is spacious enough to easily swallow a 15” laptop computer. Thanks to the bag’s semi-rigid chassis construction, you can expect it to stay in place comfortably no matter how you have it loaded. Seen inside the waist straps is impact-absorbing armor. Shoulder, waist and sternum straps are all fully-adjustable for length, further aiding in the secure transport of your stash when you’re on the move. At the bottom of the bag, a separate compartment houses the helmet carrying device you see here. On the helmet-facing side of the webbing can be found rubber traction pads which provide a positive grip, easily holding your lid securely in place. The whole contraption easily hides away when not in use.
