More government intervention, mandatory back up cams?
Revelstoker replied to chevysoldier's topic in Dumpster
what a waste. If you can't back up they you shouldn't be allowed to drive. Now, for delivery vans and other vehicles that have obstructed views, I can see the advantage. Rather have a no tolerance for imparied drivers law in that if they get you once, loss of liscense for a year. If they catch you twice, no driving for life. -
OK, cite the law and process to go about accomplishing the task? I had not luck when I pressed this matter and was told to go to the courts. Even when I consulted lawyers. One issue is establishing damages. Since the insurance company fixed the car, I had no immediate damages. Had I sold the car and incurred a reduced sale value vs. a comps, maybe but I didnt. THen, comps can vary wildly. Interesting on adjusters that estabish reduced value but give us the share benefit of your JD or experience.

Yep, riding hard on this one:

As an FYI for full coverage policy owners: Full coverage has two major components: Comprehensive and Collision Comp = covers fire and theft Collision = covers accident and also (I believe) includes the Medical piece In many cases, once you stop riding or driving, you can contact your agent and SUSPEND the COLLISION portion of your insurance coverage. The bike will still be covered for fire/theft but you cannot ride the bike or drive the car. This will save you some money but you have to resist the tempation to go for a spin if the weather gets nice. I do this for my Mini Cooper with State Farm and it saves me a couple hundred between Nov and Apr. State Farm does not do this for bikes as they supposedly reviewed and repriced their policies based on a 6-9 month riding season. The agent told me they got tired of bikers doing this to them so they just changed their coverage rates to compensate. Other providers still base their coverage on 12 month, so you can suspend and save. I have 3 bikes under Full Coverage and did a compare between SF, Progressive, Allstate and Gieco earlier in the year and I factored in policy suspension. SF was equivalent or better than most other providers for me. I think Gieco ended up being the cheapest after suspension but I got busy and didn't make the switch. SF has always been excellent with claims and I have 32yrs of coverage history with SF. Allstate and Gieco did mention they recognize the long history but I am not sure how it factors into the rates they quoted me.

call Subaru and as to speak with the DM for your region. Dealerships are not going to make the call as it is a Subaru issue and Corporate won't help. District Manager has the authority to make it right for you. I had a similar issue with my Volvo and we had to go to the DM for resolution.

Most of the inmates are black or hispanic on drug charges (39% black, 20% hispanic, yet each only constitutes about 10% of the total US population). Legalizing and taxing would solve that issue. "Perhaps the single greatest force behind the growth of the prison population has been the national "war on drugs." The number of incarcerated drug offenders has increased twelvefold since 1980. In 2000, 22 percent of those in federal and state prisons were convicted on drug charges." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incarceration_in_the_United_States Prohibition is such an easy test case for the law of supply and demand on a society. Why anyone ever thought that outlawing drugs was a solution is beyond me. Unless, the real aim was to incarcerate minorities, in which case, it has been a smashing success.

get it fixed and no diminished value. Insurance isn't going to cover this piece for you as others have stated. I've had it happen too many times to worry about now. Best of luck with the small claims route as it is really your only option, if you can prove damages.

Government that forces motorcyclists to wear helmets and drivers to wear seatbelts is the same government that give the keys back to repeat drunk drivers. My mother and the kids she was a nanny for were hit head on by a drunk driver and she still has trouble walking. The other driver was drunk and it was his sixth time being cited. He is still driving. Next thing, government will mandate helmets because these dumbass kids are knocking everyone out walking down the street but they can't punish the criminal, so better to inconveniece the victims. If we just had a justice system that worked. Maybe the Koreans could teach us a thing or two on how to deal with the opposition????

Mercedes got in and out on their own terms and dime. Kind of sad as their influence had me at least test driving a few of the vehicles. But, there were some serious misteps as well. -
Subby power here as well. Took a ride and played a bit in the snow as well.

I usually ride on Jan 1, as long as their is no snow and the roads are dry. However, since I rode the cycle a day before, I took a bicycle ride on Jan 1. 10 mile cruise that was very enjoyable but the temps were in the upper 40s. Not so much a Polar Bear ride this year.

If you have not been there, be sure to plan a ride through the Adirondacks on your way up or back.

Get into the shops, see what is on sale. I picked up my daughter's bike, Trek, new for right around $400 and she is just about 5'. $400 is not a lot of coin and we don't know what exactly she wants in a road bike but you can find a nice bike for $400 if your patient. It won't be the lightest or fanciest but it will peddle, shift and get her where she needs to go. Here is one at Performance Bike, that might work: 2014 Diamondback Clarity 1 Women's Road Bike Compare: $499.99Our Price: $399.99Save: $100.00

30 miles, man it sure felt good. The upside of all the rain we got is that most of the salt was washed off the roads. 50 degrees is my limit as I can ride with base layer under normal riding clothing. Anything colder than that and I have to start putting on ski gear and that gets too bulky. Not going to electo aides or a suit, quite yet.

30 miles today. Not much but it sure did feel good to get out for a quick spin.

Really cool bike. I still think motocyzs is the way to go but he won't commercialize the bike.

this might work for me. Any chance you all might consider another venue closer to central Dayton? Possibly, Southpark Tavern, Tanks, Clancy's or Slyders?

I took a few photos with the cell phone and I put a few more in a public gallery. Let me know if you have any questions. ( i fail at pic posting. Images are so big and cut off, but if you click on them, they get even bigger. Need to bottle and sell that as a feature.)
