Only thing going to save Harley next year is that Polaris missed the pricing on the Indians and they let the Vicotory guys get too close to the touring model with that F'ed up fairing. Had theVintage Chief come out under $20k vs. the $24k that they are asking, Harley would have a hard time pushing this stuff.

Yawn. I was sadly hoping for more or well, actually less. No need to sell the KTM for a baby Pani. Now a 690r or 1190ADV just got moved up on the want list. All attention now focused on Honda in anticipation the new V4 Aprilla killer will be released this year.

Yes, several times. SF makes a nice base as you can make day runs up to Sonomo/Napa, Redwoods, Coast, Monterey/Santa Cruz and Yosemite. City itself is nice place to visit. GGate park, GG bridge, Fishermans Warf w/ Alcatraz (note, book this one early as it fills up). I usually stay on Montgomery in the heart of Little Italy but I have also stayed at the Fairmont on Knob Hill. Coit tower, trollies are all fun to do in the city. Food is awesome and so is the scenery. If you have the time, take a side trip to Tahoe or venture up towards Shasta. It is one amazing state! If your time is limited, I would strongly suggest skipping LA/SD and concentrating your stay around SF.

Ok, you are going to have to give us more than this if you want a reco: 1, years riding 2, bikes owned/current past 3, where will you ride 4, what is your intended purpose, Primary, secondary, tertiary (Commute, tour, track days, straight line speed, stunting, dirt) 5, any two up 6, biographics = how big are you (height, weight, inseam) and age (20s, 30s, ...) 7, why do you want a bike an/or what is the primary driver for wanting one In general, sportbikes (aka crotch rockets) are not ideal first or even second bike. There are some variants of these bikes that are more suited to a newer rider that when operated with skill, can be every bit as fast on public roads and the track. Bonus, is that insurance is lower and they can actually allow you to become a better rider, quicker.

Sounds good but too much work. Dbl/tripple wrap the potatoes and leave the ends open. Place at the bottom of the pit with coals on top. Skewer the steak and rotisserie it just angle over fire on a stick. Drink the beer while watching dinner cook.

www.homepath.com That is the Fannie Mae website that has tons of cheap houses all over the country. There are no shortages and they have more homes not listed. Ya, that is wrong. Pre-Qualifications are generally up to the pre-qualified amount. Lending standards have tightened and I used to have a spreadsheet that looks at debt-income levels ( 3 different ratios) for qualification. A general rule in the past was 28% of gross pay would determine your maximum monthly payment (mortage, pmi, insurance). Extrapolate that monthly value out to a 30yr term and you get your pre-qualified amount. The more debt service that you have (car, credit cards, school loans, ......), the less you qualify for. Personally, I use 25% of disposable income as a proxy for what one person (household) can afford. There is no reason to base payment off of money that the government is going to take and it also takes a more conservative approach for unexpected budget issues.

Gov't is by the people for the people. When individuals that have been placed into positions of power make decisions and take actions that are the deterriment of the populace, they should be held accountable. If an individual has knowledge that the gov't is engaging in unconsitutional behaviour, we all have a duty to stand up and make the behaviour known. If people are afraid to do what is right for fear of the consequences, then we are all doomed. Making allegations against the very group of people that will determine your guild or inocense and determine your sentence I believe makes Snowden's claim of not being able to get a fair trial valid. Patriot Act is a horrid piece of legislation and anyone that voted for or supports the inviduals that gave this thing life should be ashamed. Amendment IV (Privacy of the Person and Possessions) The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Get over to SportbikeTracktime (www.sttforum.com) and check their schedule. Look for Putnam Park events. STT has a program (Ride Right) to help first timers get out on the track and they offer up a few spots periodically. http://www.sttforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 Nice part is that they have leather rentals.

Don't diss or underestimate the SV. I was at Barber last weekend and a control rider was blitzing everyone in the Intermediate group on his SV. It was a thing of beauty to watch him blaze through the corners at full lean. Speed is a straight line is over rated but if the R1 will make you happy, go for it.

Age should not be a determining factor. Care and use/abuse should be the most important questions. Bikes that are well maintained, stored inside, and have records of servicing will be a better determing factor. I have a '68 with 97,000 miles on it and it runs like new. My old '85 Honda with 46,000 miles is in excellent shape and continues to run like new. Some materials will break down (seat covers, dry rot tires) but many times, those issues are easily addressed for not a whole lot of cost. No idea on the low mileage bikes that have sat for extended periods. My quess, it depends on how they were stored (fluids in, out) and where they were stored.

Nope, etched in still wet tabla rasa mind forever. -
Sad part, the US does think US citizens are the enemy. Patriot Act is an abomination and anyone that voted Cheney into office, twice, should be ashamed. Utah data center, phone records, domestic drones are all examples of failed foreign policy and personal greed.

Thinking Of Investing In Precious Metals? Now Is The Time.
Revelstoker replied to Gixxus Christ!'s topic in Dumpster
You are correct and the long-term fundamentals still support this but you have to go back to debacle levels of 2006-2007 to see the industrial driven demand. Everything else has been risk flight. Market is correcting with money flowing back into equities and out of bonds. Gold is going down below $1000 or around that level. Short GLD if you want to have a position in metals. Sell your coins now. BTW, I am short GLD at $165. Cha-Ching!! -
What's The Smallest Bike You Would Street Ride?

Yes, a 450. Or, http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/3892794911.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3819979593.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3826406443.html -
I would advise against it. Probability of it being involved in a wreck driven by 90 yr olds is really high and they will have a horror story on their hand as the dealership will want nothing to do with it. Pay for the repairs and get hosed on the turn in value. They are only going to drive for a couple more years which makes sense to lease along with the low miles. I would advise to just find a used car that they like and one you (or family) can inherit in a few years. Assuming they have a $300 month payment for 36 months, they will pay $10,800 plus fees, down payment and such. Total outlay may be $15k. That will buy a pretty decent used car.

Thinking Of Investing In Precious Metals? Now Is The Time.

It is a safe bet bond prices are going to fall. Gold was a bubble related to uncertainty and that has been largely removed. Look for gold to fall back to trend levels. Only real upside now is equities for sector rotation. My sure bet is RYJUX an inverse bond fund. Sadly it is tied to the 30yr but is an almost no brainer for the next year or so. Gold may hold with Chinese uncertainty and could go up a bit but mostly, I see equities resuming their rise after the holidays and real trading begins in Aug. -
