  1. there is a documentary (ala Supersize Me) that shows a lot of the environmental fallout associated with the hydraulic fracture process. the name of the film escapes me, but essentially people were having their wells contaminated with the chemicals, or with the natural gas that was being recovered. there were several scenes were people could light their kitchen faucets on fire. the oil company, of course, denied any wrong doing, and put the onus on the affected people to prove that the process was contaminating the water. most of us aren't geologists, but anybody can see that the process isn't perfect and could use better oversight from the environmental protection people.
  2. Braun, Series 7 http://www.amazon.com/Braun-Pulsonic-Shaver-System-Silver/dp/B003YJAZZ4/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1325030120&sr=1-1 i love this thing. i put it in the cleaner after every shave. each day is a great shaving experience. i like to use the 'Lectric Shave stuff as a pre-shave.
  3. Flow? From the Progressive commercials? Good on him! (cuz i'd hit it, too!)
  4. here's the deal, guys. these riders don't get their contracts renewed for many reasons, but the primary one is because they are asking for bigger salaries. if you feel you're good enough for more money, then you need to accept the fact that you need to go to a bigger show. also, if a team has a rider who is ready and willing to pay for the seat, then you can't fault the team!
  5. i agree with mr. mako regarding having the satisfaction of building the bike yourself. not only does it make the build 'yours', but imagine the amount of KNOWLEDGE you are amassing. bleeding brakes, rebuilding brakes, installing/removing/rebuilding forks and shocks, suspension tuning, electrical wiring... and the list goes on. i have built all of my race bikes from street trim. i kinda feel that if i had just bought an already track-ready bike, that i would not have had the same depth of knowledge. just my two cents.
  6. no problem. whenever you're ready. just shoot me a PM or email: longdogracing@gmail.com
  7. sorry guys. looks like i blew my wad and didn't read it close enough. i thought mongo was referring to mid-ohio when he mentioned the june dates. imma douche.
  8. http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=292052 WERA apparently clinched a slot in July 2012...
  9. i do. i'm in Enon. could do it for you one afternoon.
  10. Kyle, i'd like to see if you got any pics of me from monday's TD.
  11. i was kinda disappointed with my :42's. oh well. just reason to go back and try and improve!
  12. I will be there. And definitely NOT the end of the season!
  13. wow. i am amazed at how many of you were kids when this happened. i was just out of college and working for the navy at patuxent river, MD. since then, i served two combat tours in an effort to reclaim our nation's dignity. i'm going to commemorate this sad anniversary with a trackday. i'm going to ride with the freedoms that my service (and of those who didn't return) gave me. this is a great place to live. there are other places in the world that aren't so lucky; that live in fear for their lives every day. just sumpthin to think about.
  14. that commander (or platoon leader) needs to be fired. that was an unnecessary risk, and put the lives of those soldiers in danger. the fording capability of those vehicles are good, but not THAT good. now, your hard-earned tax dollars are going to have to pay for those vehicles to be overhauled...
  15. the year was 2008. i was totally addicted. ran the entire east coast CCS series. Daytona, Barber, CMP, VIR, Summit, etc. won the regional championship. that stupid two-dollar trophy at the end of the season cost me a teacher's salary! new set of rubber every round. the SV was BUILT to GO! (wouldn't trade it for anything, though! it was my best riding season ever! probably won't get to revisit those days again unless i hit the lottery!)
  16. kyle, i'd like to see if you have some good shots of me from the twighlight event. i was on a black GSXR, #53 with yellow plates. also, if anyone has any video footage of me, i'd like to get it from you if possible! --justin
  17. get some more trackday time in. while you "could" get your race license now, the reality is that most novice racers are pretty quick. once you start racing, the contents of your wallet evaporate exponetially. ask me how i know...
  18. it's that kind of censorship that empowered the Taliban in the first place... i'm a solder. i'll fart when i want to fart. period.
  19. gonna try and make sunday. we'll see if the planets align just right...
  20. "might" make it to the Beave. we'll see if my military handlers will allow me to at least have Sunday off...
  21. i'll be on the GSXR folks, so watch out! (don't worry, that doesn't mean very much...) (SV has been put away for the season. winter projects: need to check the valves, get rid of the keyed ignition, maybe do the 2nd gen cam swap for a few extra ponies...)
  22. i have received spousal approval. Mid-O on the 27th.
