  1. Still looking for a transmission.

  3. Looking for an automatic transmission for a 2003 Dodge Neon SE. Doesn't have to be from a 2003 as long as it will bolt up and work without swapping out anything else.
  4. I did clear all the codes, and yes all 3 came back after that. The check engine light is not on constantly though. Once in a while it will flash on then go off. It does have a MAF. I cleaned it but that didn't change anything. I replaced it aprx a year ago. PM sent.
  5. It does not have a schrader valve. I had to replace the fuel pump 3 times in order to get a working one, so really want to rule out a fuel issue before I go too much further with troubleshooting.
  6. Another note: The cars fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filter have all been replaced recently.
  7. I have a 92 Subaru SVX, it has a problem starting where it cranks normally but takes a very long time to start or once in a while won't start at all. It usually runs kind of rough when it does get started and you have to give it gas. Once you give it gas it will idle normal and generally run like normal. I have noticed if you hold the gas pedal down when trying to start the car, it will sometimes help it start up. Car has 3 codes stored in the computer, one is for a crank sensor, another is for the EGR valve. Both of those parts I swapped off of another one of my SVX's and the problem did not go away. Last code was for an O2 sensor, which I know isn't the problem. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Or have a fuel pressure gauge?
  8. *ahem* There will be an SVX attending, so slowest will be 15 sec. car.
  9. Yeah, I definately have a thing for SVX's. They are really awesome cars. If I had a bigger driveway I would have a 4th one. Thanks.

  12. This car was my daily driver and second car until something with the timing chain broke. The car will start up and probably move, have not tried, but it makes a lot of noise from the pass. side of the engine behind the timing chain cover. I was going to have it fixed but had a different car fixed instead and do not need this one or have the space for it. The interior is 8/10. Black interior. Has an alpine cd player that sounds excellent with the bose speakers, there is also a wire run for a subwoofer already. Car has aprx 178k miles. Clutch was replaced within the last 10k miles and it has aftermarket tokiko(sp?) suspension and tein(SP?) springs. Has aftermarket 17" rims with brand new yokohama tires. I have a full set of rotors for this car that was never installed because the brakes are in good shape. But you can have them with it. I bought them because I got a good deal. It has a roof rack installed for ski's and bikes - I Can remove it, if you don't want it. Asking $1800. obo. Clear title in hand. May consider trades. http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x123/wannarace928/maxi.jpg
  13. I would but its an automatic and not the SE.
  14. I thought about an engine swap, but the engine in the car was/is running fine except for the noise it is making behind that cover now. It wasn't loosing any oil between oil changes or making any noises or anything prior to whatever broke. I don't know how reliable most Nissan engines are, but I had a swap done in a Subaru and the engine that went in was worse than the original and I dont want to run into that again. And the car has aprx 178k miles on it.
  15. Ouch, 12 hours is a long time. What makes it so difficult?
  16. After messing around with my 95 maxima for a while, I am pretty sure the timing chain or tensioner or something inside that cover is what broke, came loose or whatever. The car will start and run but makes a lot of really bad noises from the pass side of the engine area where the timing chain is located. I do not have time to fix it, too many other car projects, so anyone on here want to make some cash? You are welcome to come out and look at it first before giving me a price quote. And if it can be done in the driveway you can even fix it here and use my tools as long as you are serious about finishing the job once you start it. Or I can have it towed to you, whatever makes your life easier. I would like this done very soon though. I am located on the South Side of Columbus. PM me a number I can reach you at if your interested in fixing it.
  17. That looks similar to a bug I saw once when I lived in NY. It moved incredibly fast and was one of the most discusting bugs I had ever seen. :zoom:
  18. Video of what it sounds like running : http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x123/wannarace928/maxima/?action=view&current=MVI_3203.flv
  19. It is a 6cyl... dohc, I believe. It is the sport edition. I just found on a website it is suppose to have a timing chain. If a chain goes "bad" would the car still be able to start?
  20. The accessory belts are intact. I think the car has a timing chain though, not really familiar enough with the engine to take anything apart and see if it is ok. There where no lights on prior to it dying on the road. I'm on the south end of columbus, and I had the car towed to my house.
  21. My 1995 Nissan Maxima broke down on me this morning. I was driving down the highway around 70mph and all of a sudden the car died while going down the road. I pulled over and it would not start back up right away, while I was waiting on the tow truck, after about 20 minutes of sitting I tried starting it and it started but it is making some loud noises on the passenger side engine area. Sounded like a pretty loud squeeky noise and a little grumbling sound. I turned it off right away and have not tried starting it since as I don't want to possibly do anymore damage to the car than has already happened. I really don't know much about these cars. I have had it for a while and it did not have any issues with the engine or running before this. Anyone experianced with these cars that can take a look at it or is there anything I should check out?
