  1. A set of friction plates is like $60. The steels don't usually need replaced until they go under spec which is usually after the 3rd set of friction plates are replaced. Nickelback sucks cock, I'm glad I don't know how to spell that Canadian fuck's name.
  2. I give him a week, two weeks tops. Tried to tell him.... Hey chad Kroger. Desmo is a professional, been in the industry for years and has worked for ktm and Ducati to name a few. I'd show him the respect his pedigree commands, especially if you can't do something as simple and basic as replace a clutch. You aren't doing yourself any favors here acting like a douche.
  3. Thought about that, but I have full hard givi luggage for light touring plus bungee net to hold most things on my back seat, but a tail bag may be in the future. I have looked at a few of the rapid transit bags, the recon 19 in particular, just wasn't sure about the build quality.
  4. Sick of wearing a backpack and don't want to put the hard luggage back on for my daily commutes. Its a bandit 1200 so it has a fairly large tank, I'd like to throw in a few cans of pop, maybe a Gatorade, my lunch, a jacket liner and a tablet pc. I've looked at them on web sites but there are just too many to choose from, my eyes glaze over. Clear phone pocket would be a plus. Backpack straps would be a plus to carry into work but not necessary. There are a few bags I've seen that have these features, but I wanna know what descriptions and pictures can't tell me, so who's got what and why do you love it? Who had what and why did you hate it?
  5. The one in the picture is actually a plastic model.
  6. If it starts, runs, rides and looks decent the bike has passed all tests. Caveat emptor.
  7. Ok. Lemme give you some new guy advice before you leave in a huff. You're new. You post a thread bitching about service somewhere. Youre going to get responses, and you're not going to like all of them. So far you got one from a guy who works at a dealer, one from a guy who owns his own shop and one from a professional mechanic. Telling people their posts are offensive, touting your 'pedigree'...doesn't bode well. I'm telling you this because I've seen a lot of guys come here with a certain attitude and leave within a week or two with a very sore ass. You're new. Thank people for their advice. Be gracious. It will go a long way for you. Also, prepare your tender balls for some serious busting over your screen name, its gonna happen.
  8. I'd be irate about the oil, that can cause a serious issue when it slops up around the crank and gets compressed between it and the case, not only does it rob power, it creates an incredible amount of heat.considering there's between a pint and a quart left in the filter, they way over filled it. Also no excuse for a check engine light on that new of A bike. That being said, dont be a dick. It doesn't hurt you any to use your manners when dealing with customer service and it doesnt do anyone any good to make these people's day at work any shittier, you wouldnt want someone to come throw rocks at you while you're on the job. Pretty likely the person you speak with isn't even the one who fucked up.
  9. Seems high for the eotech. I got mine used for a lot less.
  10. What if you were able to make an adjustable rearset by milling a plate that bolts up to the frame and accepts stock pegs, shifter and brake via a matrix of tapped holes? Could keep price down and as long as there is enough adjustment on the linkage rod, eliminate complexity as a limiting factor. That idea is mine. I want a piece of the action.
  11. You should do it. I'm a machinist too and if I had the time and equipmunk I'd be making all types of cool shit.
  12. Stunters would dig a foot hold that bolts or clamps onto stock subframe. There was a guy around Akron that made em for gsxr that were a easy direct bolt-on but he moved away. One thing guys with carb'd bikes would eat up is idle air screws with a knurled extension so you can adjust them on the bike, but without a comparitor it would be hard to reverse-engineer the profile of the business end. Grab bar block-offs are cool but there's already a few places doing them.
  13. Annodized pressure plates would dovetail nicely with that product. Also, billet brake reservoirs, top clamps, street fighter headlight fork brackets, billet annodized petcock handle would be pretty trick. Pipe hangers that delete passenger pegs....I have ideas.
  14. You could make loot making a clutch cover window kit. Aluminum ring with a bolt circle, counter bored for a plexiglass window, customer uses a template you supply to cut out the center of his own clutch cover and drill and tap holes. Considering the verage windowed cover is $400 and you could mill the ring in a matter of minutes with a few bucks in bar stock. I'd be happy to help you develop one for the oil cooled Suzuki gsxr/gsxf/gsf motors.
  15. Have you taken any of this in to her boss?
  16. Thank god most Wal-Marts aren't full of civil war vets who happen to keep powder, ball and cap on their person.
  17. Fuck this shit, gloves off. Hide in the bushes and mace the bitch.
  18. In depending on place and time.
