  1. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3702507&CatId=6031 It was pretty close to this.
  2. I put in a 4 camera dvr system in my mother in laws deli because her employees were stealing from her. Got it from some big electronics discount web site, trying to remember the name. Super easy to install, the dvr software was reasonably easy to navigate and you could set the cameras to trigger an alarm system if you have one and program the hours. Also could wire into your router and view via web from any device. Ill post more when I figure out Wtf it was and where I got it.
  3. $2800 ain't bad at all either, I would scoop that up if it looked awesome in person.
  4. Kinda wish I had test ride an fz1 before I bought el Bandito. Maybe ill sell it next spring and get an fz...
  5. Could always meet halvesies...but not this weekend, I'm going camping, that is to say, I'm going to go get drunk and fuck up my cholesterol in the woods for 2 days.
  6. Yeah, bad plug would show as a miss.
  7. I was assuming it used to run fine and now doesn't. Never tried the Yamaha stuff, but ill bet dollars to donuts pinesol is a fraction of the price. At any rate, a carb cleaning sounds like its in order. Derek, if you're inexperienced in this procedure, do one at a time, look at a completed one to confirm where stuff goes and NEVER remove the individual carbs from the rack. Be gentle with the floats, and take your time.
  8. I went from a 1k supersport (from 97 but still a fast bike) to a bandit 1200 and I love it. If you want torque you can actually use without a flux capacitor, get something along the lines of fz1, b12, zxr, sprint 955, cb1000r, zxr1000.....power on demand. Granted, the r1 has huge balls with barbed wire pubes and it has plenty of low end grunt, but once you pass 6k and come up on the cams it can be super hard to keep the front wheel down and the back one planted. Ride a few sport-standard and sport-touring bikes, see how they feel. My TL1000s was a mean ass machine, run up 1st and 2nd and you're doing 90mph on one wheel, but even with heli bar risers it was a torture rack for anything over 100miles....that full tuck really wears on your neck and wrists. Ride a few bikes, I'd let you take my bandit out for a spin to see how you like it. You don't need 173648 horsepower and 99374 lbs of torque to have fun on a bike.
  9. Bought a clear alternatives tail light off this guy and the resistors that came with it just dimmed the lights instead of slowing blink rate. I email and he tells me I installed it wrong. After several emails back and forth I get him to send a flasher relay, it comes and not only is it not for my bike, but it doesn't even match the unit in the instructions. I leave him neutral feedback and so far have gotten 2 harassing messages from him. He's a drop-shipper,basically a middleman, doesn't keep any inventory. He's also a raging dick. His rating is below 97%, reading his negative feedback I can see I'm not the only one he's been a dick to. I reported him to eBay for the harassment, just spreading the word. Don't deal with cycleneedz, he is a hack and an asshole.
  10. His review on the Mazda 6 is pretty funny too.
  11. Also, hanging idle is usually indicative of air leak between carb and motor or a/f screws set too lean.
  12. C7, you are incorrect. The carb DIP will swell rubber. Spray is perfectly fine. If you wanna go water based, 50-50 mix of water and pinesol actually works wonders, boil for a few minutes and soak overnight. Pilot jets are involved from idle to around 1/4 throttle, which is where you usually are when cruising in high gears. I've been at this for a very very long time.
  13. I've found that a 4x4 muffin pan is very helpful when doing carbs, helps keep all the little doo-dads organized. If you decide you can't handle it or you get lost in the middle of the job I can do it for a reasonable price.
  14. Make sure you have magley do all your wiring.
  15. He has a YouTube channel, the rest are car reviews.
  16. Love the Speedo. Every speed above 70 just says 'no'. 83 dicks beget 97 dicks. Fanny pack/open house. Funny as fuck.
  17. Those additives are mostly mineral spirits. Stabil is mostly kerosene. I used to run sea foam in all my carbed bikes as an insurance sort of thing, better than pulling carbs off and cleaning, but I don't think they do much really.
  18. They can actually test the ashes in your ashtray right there at the traffic stop and determine if they're from pot. That's usually a slam dunk ovi case.
  19. What Derek said, is there a donation account set up with a bank or anything? I'd like to help this family out.
  20. Put a mega huge sprocket on the back and stunt it.
  21. Carbs need cleaned. You don't notice it in the lower gears because you accelerate through them. Then when cruising steady in a high gear the problem becomes pronounced enough that you notice. The web is full of decent tech write ups on carb cleaning, all you really need is a few cans of carb and choke cleaner and an air compressor, sounds like a blocked pilot jet, possibly needle jet.
  22. Clutch needs adjusted if its grabbing. What happened to the title?
  23. My $.02, grind and weld, nobody cares if the nuts are oem and its not a museum piece. I understand you want to preserve as much original equipment as possible but those look too far gone and I'm with anden on buggering up the threads worse with a bottom tap and not having enough room in the blind hole for a taper tap. A form tap might work if you can get the old material out but idk. Also a jackass machinist.
  24. I have a green led illuminating my plate, so as long as its not over 21 candlepower I'm good?
