  1. Popcorn is likely asbestos. It's hard as fuck, like, it ain't coming off like the YouTube videos show.
  2. This is what were leaning towards. Deck screw firring strips into rafters and then glue/nail new ceiling onto those.
  3. Our house is old. Has plaster ceilings. They have popcorn finish. Wife hates it. She wants to put up that pine tongue and groove wall paneling on the ceiling, like this stuff: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hakwood-5-16-in-x-3-11-16-in-x-8-ft-Knotty-Pine-Edge-V-Plank-Kit-3-Pack-per-Box-8203110/206177481?cm_mmc=Shopping|THD|G|0|G-BASE-PLA-D30-Moulding|&gclid=CjwKCAjwlrnNBRBMEiwApKU4PP0EngqgDEpFMuDO-nzVgGyK7UEu92DbUWPnl7o6uYAi9gNnCbDpGBoCxpcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJWy_ejFjtYCFYJ4AQodW-4JjA I figure liquid nails and finish nails into the plaster will hold it up but damnit Jim, I'm a machinist not a residential construction contractor. Give me guidance here. I don't wanna sink a few hundred dollars into this only to rip the plaster down off my ceiling.
  4. Replaced the entire wiring harness this morning. What a fucking nightmare. Discovered that the Air box is broken beyond repair in the process so it's back to eBay I go...
  5. Eh, the entire bike is going to respond to cross winds in a less than desirable manner.
  6. Ok so that didn't work. Turns out my dad's bike which is an 85 has different mufflers and the pipes come out of the collector at a weird angle which is then corrected by the opposite weird angle in the mufflers to make them straight. Also, the stub of pipe is somewhere between 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 so the supplied reducer shims wouldn't work and we had to make one out of beer cans. Looks like fucking shit. Sounded amazing tho, and we only put one on, the other side still had stock muffler.
  7. No, these have a glass pack in them and a perforated diffuser plate so should lower the noise a bit....but the baffles are removable so they could be very loud.
  8. Yeah, that caught me a little funny too.... I'm sure he means P-twin.....
  9. Yes, hops. I'm a home brewer and I started growing my own hops this year. They did surprisingly well for first year plants.
  10. Going to my dad's tomorrow to harvest my hops plants. While I'm there in going to install a set of emgo reverse megaphone slip-on mufflers he bought on his 86 magna 700. Will get to hear the mufflers I'm looking at buying without buying them first! Wish mine was as nice as his is....will post pics and maybe a video.
  11. Rode It up and down my street. Motor pulls hard to red line. Shifts really nice. Once I replace a bunch of shit and get it painted it will be one sweet ride. Maybe I'll even keep it instead of selling it.....
  12. Yeah, that don't look comfy, and it's air/oil cooled....ouch.
  13. Agree. Maybe it's the forced perspective of the shot angle but it looks kinda toasty on the knees.
  14. If this were the case it would just starve the bike out and it would stall and not start until it either sat long enough for the tank vacuum to leak down or the filler cap was opened. The more he describes it the more it sounds like an issue with the pump or plumbing. 11 year old fuel lines could be the issue. Sometimes the insides will deteriorate and you'll get a flapper on the inside that will intermittently impede flow. Or they get soft and don't bend as nicely and pinch. Maybe plumb in a pressure gauge and monitor it while you ride and try to force the failure, if it coincides with a fuel pressure drop, there's your huckleberry.
  15. Ok, after rebuilding the slave and master and bleeding out the lines I have a clutch again. Started it up and tried to ride it yesterday, stalled out instantly when trying to roll out on first and then the battery was dead....need to wire the voltage regulator back up so it charges the battery...
  16. I'm assuming efi bike? Check resistance at tps? Check maf sensor? Check air filter? Check to see if injectors need cleaned?
  17. Just need to figure out the type of connectors I need and order them. Way better than replacing the entire harness.
  18. That's awesome. Never heard of these sites before, thanks for the tip!
  19. Idk, lean angle isn't going to really enter into the equation with this bike....
  20. Ok. Ordered slave cyl rebuild kit and gasket. Riders discount actually didn't have these items so I ended up on eBay again. Side cover comes today, it better fucking fit. Put on the replacement left side hand controls yesterday too, so now I have a headlight plug that isn't melted. Yay me. Looking into an LED headlight for this and maybe put an acewell digital gauge on to make it cooler and get rid of the fucking lunch box that houses the stock clocks and dummy lights. Maybe change the bars to something less dorky.
  21. Got my master cyl rebuild kit from riders discount. Put it all together and went to bleed it out. The slave cyl I got on eBay is fucked. Seals are shot and the piston is frozen. It's like something is trying to keep me from riding this bike....
  22. Which gaskets are those? The copper crush rings that go behind the head pipes?
  23. Need clutch master cyl rebuild kit for 1984 vf700 magna.
  24. EBay dildo shipped wrong mc rebuild kit. @RidersDiscount probably has what I need. Should have went to then first.
