New shoes and check the actuators and springs inside. Nothing really to rebuild there. New cables wouldn't hurt. Chain, sprockets and tires are probably the main safety concerns after the brakes.

Slab jacking is not an option as the patio is one piece and the slope is graded into it. The saw cuts don't go all the way thru and it will just be easier to take the water from the edge of the patio to a french drain.

Looks like 79 has 35mm forks so it should be a direct swap on the front end, but I just rebuilt my forks and had the lowers powder coated black so idk about trading entire front ends. Just swapping wheels is tricky because the brake is different between sohc and dohc models. You can bring it over tho, and we can figure something out. I have access to a lathe and mill and I'm a damn good machinist

I want comstars. I have 2 spoked rears, a 17 and an 18 and a 19 spoked front. first number in thr tire size is the width, 2nd is the profile as a percentage of width and third is rim size.

I live in massillon. Drive though some time and you'll see that the city clearly gives zero fucks about the street. I have to do a french drain anyway, don't have enough drop between where the grate has to go and where the pipe has to end for it to flow properly.

My issue is my head being so low and having to tilt my head back to look forward, it does bad things to my neck. I'll stick with sporty standards.

I'd buy it up on a salvage title if I didn't hate the ergos of the daytona. Outstanding bike but I'm too old and beat up.

I'm not tall (5'8.5") but I'm a long-armed chubby fuck and the daytona was just uncomfortable. Bars too low, seat too high.

This or was that a manhole cover I saw? Or maybe the horribly uneven concrete grabbed his tire the wrong way. At least he's ok and only minor damage to the bike.
