Call me a responsible gun owner then.....because my ID and my CHL will be with me when I am packing, and if I am being requested to show it by law enforcement I will. Do I have to be happy about it "NO", but this would have been a non issue and a much better happy ending had he just complied. Open carry simply is not the norm around most parts, and I think it is foolish to do so if just only for the obvious reason. Go walk around with a machete or a big axe and see if that doesnt draw unwanted attention as well, I see no difference legal or not.

But..................how did he get to the gas station, if he was driving and carrying, his ass had better have a CHL. I find that the police did nothing wrong at all "this time", and I feel this is bad and unwanted publicity for the gun community.

Pretty sure if you have your CHL, that it is to be with you at all times "if" you are carrying. I think that all parties involved did a thing or 2 wrong, and I still don't particularly care for open carry. I was carrying on my person the entire time I was at the Epic ride, I guarantee that nobody knew. And I agree with this statement.................... “Given the time of the day, the location, and the fact that convenience store/gas stations are typical targets for robberies in the middle of the night,” Reiss said. “It would seem reasonable in the eyes of a police officer to ask someone who was carrying a gun if it was legally permissible for them to do so.”

Watched the vid lastnight, yeah she sure seems to genuinely like it in the poop chute. She is really gonna regret doing that vid, and I am so thankful I have a son and not a daughter.

Big reason why I don't like open carry personally, of course I would have complied and gone about my business after I appeased the cops. Then I would have stopped in an complained to the chief about me being badgered by his officers for no good reason. Open carry is never going to be publicly accepted in most places, and honestly to me just seems a bit awkward and out of place. That is why I conceal carry and no attention is brought to myself, and no problems with the police, while I am minding my own business and within my legal rights.

I can assure you that Hoblick will not even consider giving a reach around or especially a blumpkin!!!!!

Yeah it does look a bit weird I must agree, my old Bandit 1200 did the same thing.

A pin lock system is your friend, Scorpion helmets anti-fog shields work pretty darn good too. Big no to rain-X on face shields, pull off visor and wipe regular dish soap with your fingers all over the inside of visor in a very thin layer, then wipe dry with a microfiber cloth. This works pretty darn good for quite a while, and the price is right. Also consider a helmet which allows you to ever so slightly crack open for venting "like a Shoei". Regular good ole pledge is most excellent for the outside of visor, and all over the bike too for that matter.

Did you have your blinker on, and yeah that would've pissed me off big time. Many cage drivers care less about us, they have no regard for our safety and our space.

Must be due to it being a "Harley Davidson", because most people have no idea what a motorcycle is beyond that. And you handled that well.......I might have said something like "do you see a slot to place a quarter in"? And then you could've asked where there car was so you could go sit in it and drip a melting ice cream cone all over the seat. We have so many idiots out there that have no respect for people, nor any of their property.

Have a friend with a mint 2008 he is looking to sell in the near future, it is on my radar.
