  1. if anybody is around the area we can meet up and head up there together lmk! :D

I used to live in Reynoldsburg til I moved to Buckeye Lake a few months back. Joey614 lives in Columbus and he's back in town. He might be down. I'll call him and see if he plans to come and if so, I'm sure you guys could meet and then head to Newark.

If that doesn't work out man.....you can just ride 70 east to Buckeye Lake and we'll head into Newark together. Either way....we can get you there.

  2. Looks like the weekend should be perfect. I'm probably gonna ride that day. Thinking maybe meet at KFC in Newark (79/16) at noon and head North and hit the twisties. Anyone else have the day off?

  3. Yeah....that guy was blowing diesel soot all over me trying to race us up the hill. ....and I was nervous too, Mike. I figured I'd back off the throttle if he pushed me to where I couldn't see what was coming but even so.....I didn't know what his intentions were. Racing sportbikes in a full size diesel truck. Hillbilly Asshole lol

Glad I got to get out with you guys today. You guys were cookin' on 79 man. Normally I keep you guys in sight but not today......though I kinda took it easy for the most part. Trying to get more smooth in the corners and keep the RPMs up. Don't touch the rear brake anymore at all heading into a turn. Getting better every ride, I think.

Good stuff guys....I'll catch you again here as soon as the weather allows.

  4. I bought this bike last year....1997 ZX6-R. It had a new paint job but no decals. I have been debating whether to buy new fairings, or to paint it another color, or to wrap it in vinyl. After finding out the fairings were half the cost of the bike and realizing that I would have to either have the rims painted another color or work with them.....I decided just to buy some custom decals that were OEM style but custom colors that matched the rims. I think the bike looks so much better now that she has her Kawasaki proudly displayed on her tank. Turned out to be the best solution, I think.

  5. I have a 97 ZX6-R that I decided to post for sale or trade. I am looking to get something a few years newer or a little faster.

    The bike runs great

-new front and rear tire with less than 500 miles on them

-clutch rebuilt end of last summer (less than 800 miles ago)

    -new sprockets

    -new chain

    -new rear brake pads

    -new clutch cable

    -full Vance and Hines exhaust

    -K&N filter

I'm the third owner. I knew the 2nd owner and the bike has been very well maintained. All the new parts weren't necessary....just wanted to keep the bike running in top form. 30,000 miles or so. Asking $2400 or willing to trade for newer sport bike....preferably CBR. I would be willing to make a deal with cash or a custom AR-15 or both.

Like I said.....just throwing it out there. I will be riding her in the meantime. :D

  6. Woke up and checked the weather. Looks like a storm moves through around 5am and will be clear by 8 or 9am. Hoping for a few hour window between rain after that and it looks promising. I'll check again at 10am and make a final call.

Plan is tentative meet at KFC at Noon. We'll decide the route once we see who all is coming along. Hopefully we'll see you guys tomorrow.

  7. How does noon at KFC at 16 and 79 sound? Will that work Hutch? We can shoot for Saturday and check the weather and if not Saturday then switch to Sunday. It's the early spring kind of pop-up showers that make it hard to plan for. It could rain all day or it could rain once in the AM and be beautiful. I'll keep an eye on the weather and we can make a decision tomorrow an hour or two before noon.

  8. I might be up for Sunday afternoon or evening. Will know better tomarrow. So I guess that means you got your plugs / starting problem figured out?

Yep. Took out the new plugs called for by the service manual. Cleaned up the old dual tipped plugs with a nail file and put them back in. The bike fired right up like it always had before. I put probably 50 miles on it Wednesday and 60 on Thursday and it's running better than ever.

We'll see how many guys want to ride and when and I'll post a meet time and location. Probably just meet at the KFC on 79 right where you get off 16 in Newark. That just seems like a place that works.

  9. Interested in a trade for a custom AR-15? It's basically a brand new gun. The only difference between it and the M4 is it has the longer barrel and is obviously single shot semi-auto (so it's legal). PM me if interested.

  10. I changed the plugs on my bike last week. The bike used to start up every time with one touch of the ignition. After changing the plugs it was taking three or four tries and would start after backfiring.

After I get it to start it runs great and runs like it normally would. But it is very hard to start and yesterday it wouldn't start until I ran my battery down enough where the reason it wouldn't start was because of the battery. I actually purchased a new battery thinking maybe it wasn't getting enough juice and it's still very hard to start.

Any ideas on what would cause this? I switched from a CR9EK (dual tipped) spark plug with a very small gap (from the previous owner) to a CR9E as called for by the service manual with a much larger gap of .7. Don't know if that would make any difference or not. I'm wondering if I just need to adjust my valves.

    Any help is appreciated.

  11. I'm down to ride tomorrow. Where are you? Im in the Buckeye Lake area now and was planning to ride around Coshocton/ North of Nerk. I wont be able to ride til the afternoon though. I'll check tomorrow around noon and if you want to ride you can meet me at the KFC on 79 North just as you get off the exit ramp from 16 headed east in Newark.....probably at like 2. Like I said...look for me to be online around noon to one.

  12. I can't make this one Hutch. Helping family move....which sucks. But I am replacing spark plugs and oil this weekend and I took my test and got my license yesterday.

I will be doing a lot of riding here very soon....very very soon.

  13. Let me no, I can always come back to kfc to meet you I don't mind ripping up 79 a extra time

If that's the case it would be great to be able to take my test. I called today and they can't get me in for like 2 and a half weeks if I don't take it tomorrow.

I'm down to meet at like 10 and ride for a few hours and then take my test and then ride some more afterward. Let me know what you think Hutch.

  14. My test is in Newark at 1. Which means I'd probably be there til 2. I tried to take it today but the driver exam Nazi wouldn't let me take it without having my actual temp endorsement with me and I had left it at home. I may skip it and come ride. I'll have to decide.

Was out riding today for a bit and it was perfect weather. Not too hot or too cold.
