  1. Anyone want to ride tomorrow morning? Any Columbus guys interested meet at the Shell on 256 at 9am. From there we will either go South to Hocking or towards Newark. Depends on the amount of interest. Make sure to post if you want to ride.....if nobody else does I may not go out.

It's actually supposed to be warmer tomorrow than it was today but the rain chances shoot up from 0% at noon to 30% by 2pm. High temp looks like 69 degrees. If it stays dry and less windy than today it could be a decent day to ride. I'm thinking that's a 50/50 shot. And if we are home by noonish we will stay dry for sure.

I rode some of this today and the roads were great. My route takes 204 South to Glenford from Columbus. Then to 757 which is like a roller coaster and south to the Hocking area.

Route planner says 150 miles and 3.5 hours. Probably will take 2.5 to 3. I know a good portion of these roads fairly well.

If Newark guys (Hutch, Brent etc) want to ride I could easily be persuaded to ride the 79 North area or even the same route you guys rode today. Let me know if you Newark guys want to ride tomorrow.

  2. I was at the church at probably 9:37. I was pretty sure I was gonna miss you guys but decided to try anyway.

I went out down 204 towards Glenford this afternoon and probably put 100 miles in. Would have rode longer but I wasn't having fun fighting the wind...though I wasn't cold at all.

Glad everyone had fun and made it home safe.

  3. hope it doesnt rain on friday and sat :) i hope to ride with some some of you columbus folks when i am there

I think the weekend looks halfway decent right now. Wednesday and Thursday look like they will be a mess but I'm optimistic for Sat and Sun.

  4. When I got home today I was looking at my service manual and also the videos Gino posted about suspension: http://www.onthethrottle.com/howto/suspension-set-up-on-a-suzuki-gsx-r600/

I had already messed around with the front forks compression and rebound but not the rear. I checked and the rear was set up to stock specs for a 150 lb rider. I'm somewhere around 50 lbs more than that. Needless to say the rear was squatting under acceleration. After adjusting it it feels like a new bike. I also think it was affecting my feel for the bike in the corners....and wasn't helping my confidence that there was grip. Crazy what a few adjustments can do. Can't wait to see how it feels on my next long ride.

  5. Yeah....once again had a blast Hutch. Hopefully the weather holds up and we can hit it again.

Nice riding with you Cp09R1 and Mykill. Lotsa fun. If you upload that video man....post a link. I'd like to see how much I don't lean haha

***I pulled over on the way home cause my passenger seat was falling off. I was holding on to it as we passed those Staties. Pulled into the turn lane at the red light, hopped off and secured the seat and pulled back out and caught back up. Haha Figured you guys were wondering***

  6. Well....it's looking like it's going to be about 12:45 before I can get to IP.

Have to be at a luncheon at 11:30...thinking I can bail a little early w/o consequence but that puts me leaving to head to IP at like 12:30.

So is 12:45 at IP cool?

  7. I have for sale an Alpine Stars Exile Jacket. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/10480/ITEM/Alpinestars-Exile-Jacket.aspx

Purchased the Jacket from Iron Pony less than two months ago but found an Icon jacket that matched my helmet for %50 off today at IP and bought it. So I no longer need my A* jacket. Jacket is in like new condition. Comes with zip out rain liner (not pictured) and kidney, shoulder, elbow and back pads. Size is XL. I wear about a 44-46 in jackets

    Asking $100 obo

  8. I rode dirt bikes often as a kid but I bought my first street bike like 3 months ago (84 GPZ 900-Top Gun). Wasn't as mechanically sound as I had hoped. Sold it and bought my 97 ZX6R 2 months ago. Since than I have been riding on my own on some decent roads here and there.

But since I knew this weekend was going to be perfect I hopped on OR and met up with some great guys Friday and Saturday. First time riding as a group. Rode about 600 miles total North of Newark and around Coshocton, Millersburg, etc. Was amazing. Now I know what it is to ride a sportbike. Been wondering and wishing since I was able to drive what it would be like to really ride. Was an awesome weekend!

  9. Man I want to....but I have a dentist appt.

I think we'll have a few more decent days this week. Hopefully. I'll be down to ride Wed-Sun. Maybe we can put together something then.

  10. Thanks guys. There was a short period of time where I was like "I'm gonna just head home. This little incident will be a big incident if I keep goin". But after the rest of the ride to Millersburg and thinking about how minimal the damage and really the incident itself was I said "fuck it.....I'm gonna do what I set out to do" and I'm glad I did.

The words that were ringing in my ears all day were "Ride your own ride". Says a lot about you guys that we can all ride safely as a group with the varying ranges of skill in that ride today.

Glad it looks like everyone (minus Toledo guys) made it home safely and I'll definitely see you guys out again soon. Hope this weather holds up.
