  1. Hutch....I have a few things to do in the AM. How does meeting at KFC at 1pm work for you? If not I can push it to Noon but I can't go any earlier than noon. That will also give it some time to warm up. What do ya think?

  2. Just curious....don't take this as an insult cause it's not.

I have a 1997 Kawasaki ZX6-R. It has 29k miles and is well taken care of and maintained. The most I have had offered for it is $2200. I bought it for 19 and have put around $800 into it. I would sell for $2500. What makes this bike worth a thousand dollars + more than mine?

  3. Looking at the weather tomorrow and it's supposed to be gorgeous. I plan to ride either in the morning or the afternoon. The route I'm thinking is KFC in Nerk through 79 North to 541 to 60. That goes all the way to 62 where we head South for less than a mile and then catch 520 to 514. Take 514 to Martinsburg where you catch back up with 62 and I'll take that back to Columbus. It's a great loop and takes maybe three hours.

If anyone is down I'll leave Nerk at 9am. If nobody responds I'll just ride in the afternoon when I get done with school at 2. So if I ride in the PM I'll leave Nerk at 3 which will put as back at about 0 dark 30.

Let me know fellas. Supposed to be beautiful.

  4. Rode this road today and it is beautiful. The surface is newly paved and squeaky clean. It's a 10 mile stretch and the road was closed in the middle of it but apparently the work is done cause we just slid the signs over and rode right through. A resident nearby said everyone was doing that and the only reason the sign was still up was b/c they didn't have the guardrail up yet. It was even better with the minimal traffic due to the roads being "closed"

We road back and forth like 4 times and it was awesome. Some left, then right, then left handers and some really tight turns and elevation changes. I like it better than 520 and we rode that yesterday. Great road if anyone gets a chance to head that way. I;m gonna try to hit it again if the weather holds out any longer.

  5. Im glad you saved it this time

Yeah me too. It would have been far worse this time. Last time was low speed and could have happened anywhere really. Just a moment of inattention.

This time I was all out of shape. Once the rear slid out (partly due to road debris and partly due to braking too late) the bike was going where it wanted to. I was just along for the ride. I know what they mean by the term tank slapper now. Fortunately I was only going 45 to 50 mph. Still....if I had put it down it would have been a mess and meant a winter of rebuilding instead of fine tuning.

  6. Went by twice ! Haha did 79-541-60-520-514-62-502-715-79 back to kfc wig mykill then met up with James and did same route but headed back to Columbus on 62.

And I came extremely close to a high side on 60. Back end washed out and then caught and I gathered it up and rode onto the soft berm and about low sided in the grass and gravel.....but rode it away like I do it all the time. Haha I'll chalk it up as a learning experience

Me and route 60 don't get along.

  7. He was to Hung over and couldn't ride so I didn't go either

I didn't feel great and it wouldn't have been safe. That's my bad. Don't know that it needed announced on here but I suppose I deserve it.

Ah well. Next two days look nice.

  8. Ridwithgps.com is the shit. If you have the right GPS it uploads your route.

I don't think I have the right GPS. Mapped the route with ridewithgps.com but I could only email it to myself. My GPS isn't Garmin so I couldn't connect with it. Oh well.....least I have the map electronically anyway. :

You should join us in the AM Habi. Should be a nice ride. Weather oughta hold. 11am at the Shell on 256?

I'm hittin the sack. You should roll with us......

  9. Its outdated tech just like their bikes.

    Use RidewithGPS or Google maps

I use Google maps and have it on my android in gps and Google sky (stars and stuff) but tried for route planners and Harley was the first to pop up and it was cut and dry so I went with it. I'll check out the others though. I've seen others rides planned with Google and I don't think Harley's is any worse. But I've never used anything else to plan with.....just checked the map someone else plans the route with Google etc....

So far Harley's route planner lets me plot waypoints, locations, gives me total mileage and gas stops so begrudgingly, I've went with it. Too bad a soft tail and a panhead excite me even less than the website..... That's why I ride a Japanese bike I guess....
